I don't particularly care for that setting myself, but my experiments with it made it sound like what you describe. Nope, and if I set this option I get the same result, with the difference that the mails for each sender is also grouped by date. Alternatively, do you have new thread sorting checked, and does inverting it make any difference? I have been wondering about this, and the only actual effect of this option that I have found has been that if checked threads are sorted by the newest mail in the thread (so that the thread with the newest reply gets on the top). If not checked the threads are sorted by the starting mail. -- /Fredrik The Bat! 3.60.07 on Windows XP 5.1 2600 Service Pack 2 Current version is 3.60.7 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

This view makes it hard to FB find certain Senders since I can't see the Subject or the received FB time of the last mail (for that sender) without expanding the FB thread. Have you tried playing with View / Global View Mode / Manage View Modes? Yes, and I have different modes set up for inbox, sent mail, normal mailinglists, this mailinglist... ;) So I have the same view mode for all of my Inboxes, and Manage View Modes from View / Global View Mode gives me View Mode setup dialog as from Folder / Properties / Edit View Mode. And if I play around in the View Mode setup dialog I can't find any option to get rid of the empty lines. -- /Fredrik The Bat! 3.60.07 on Windows XP 5.1 2600 Service Pack 2 Current version is 3.60.7 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

The thing is I cannot reproduce the empty lines. Maybe somebody else can help better. Just to clarify what I mean with empty lines I took this image: http://holly.ko2000.nu/fredsinbox.png As you can se all the mails from each sender is grouped but I will not see the Subject or Received date of the last e-mail without expanding each thread. Sorting and everything still works like it should, it is just that I can't get a good overview of all the e-mails ;(. -- /Fredrik The Bat! 3.60.07 on Windows XP 5.1 2600 Service Pack 2 Current version is 3.60.7 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Re[2]: Thread by Sender (3.5)
Hello Roelof, Monday, May 16, 2005, 2:29:44 PM, you wrote: FB In my Inbox I thread all the mails by Sender, and now in the 3.5 FB version the list is still sorted by sender, but that is the only FB thing listed since all the subjects is hidden until i expand each FB sender. Create a view mode that threads by sender and that expands all threads. Assign that viewmode to your inbox. Works for me. (Just tested it.) Yes, that works (Or does what is should anyway). But what I want (and had in the last version) is something in the middle. Expand all threads, expands all the threads and then I get to see all the e-mails from all the people. I may have gotten hundreds of mail from some people and I would just like to see the subject of the last mail they sent me. -- /Fredrik The Bat! 3.5 on Windows XP 5.1 2600 Service Pack 2 Current version is 3.5 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
