Freeware. Let it find all the temp files then select delete all.

Will only kill the one that do not need keeping.

I had a similar problem with an earlier version of Bat!; someone on this
board kindly recommended that software and I found I had >38,000 temp files
from Bat! crashing (modem kept cutting out).

I'd say that 869 bat items is quite a lot, yes.

IIRC, there were some solutions to clearing the %TEMP% automatically in
an earlier discussion on TBUDL... (searching)...
Yes, here it is; the subject is "TB! attachment display settings?"
Just search for it in the TBUDL Archives

Start, then run, type "%temp%" (without the qoutes), sometimes there's a
"%tmp%" too -- normally it's the same folder. Never wrong to try both.

The files should be called bat*.tmp or something like that

Did you compress them?

I have The Bat! set to compress all my folders on exit. It makes it
faster running.

Are you using IMAP or POP3?

These problems sound like some things that some users see with IMAP.

I haven't seen them using POP3.

Ok thanks, as well other posters. I downloaded the new version and tried
again. I get all kind of strange stuff now. For exmaple, mails not getting
downloaded (it gets stuck at 100% when downloading of the server). The mail
that does come through is shown for example, withouht a "from" and subject
etc, or half of the content is missing.

About deleting temporary files: how do i find them?

I did try to cure the folders, it said ok and it gave some error message.

slows things down and consumes processor time.

Do you run the folder maintenance regularly? If not, I'd do that (make a
backup first, then do a complete folder maintenance and check to compress
the folders & delete old messages).

And update to the latest release version 3.62.14 as Miguel suggested.

cpu 100%

2005-11-27 Thread lex
Hi,

My mail folders are rather large, and since a while, as soon as I
start The Bat! I've got my cpu working at 100%. (which is, obviously,
slowing down the whole computer)

I'm using The Bat! Version 3.60.07
under Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2
   AMD Athlon 2400+
1,99 GHz 1,00 GB of RAM

Do I need to archive mail or something to have the bat! running normal
again, or is there a fault somewhere. Normally, I use to have my email
client on oall the time i'm behind a pc, that isn't possible now...

Thanks,
