[tw] Re: TiddlyWiki Classic - Saving Issues
Hi Yakov, okay, before I give you my setup, I have to thank you! My TW works and saves as usual, when I edit it with TiddlyDesktop. Nevertheless, it still doesn't work in the browser, so I think we'll proceed with solving the problem, if only as a basis for other users or the TW QA. Am Mittwoch, 15. Oktober 2014 19:19:55 UTC+2 schrieb Yakov: Ah, ok, that shouldn't cause the problem. Unless.. well.. is it in MarkupPreHeader or other such tiddler? Or in PageTemplate? Or you have manually edited the TiddlyWiki html file? (the last thing may be not that harmless). I'm pretty sure it is neither of those. Just an ordinary Page set as a starting page with a html style div tag. With TiddlyFox [1]? Just tried it. It actually works here, with this configuration. Saving works normally! Re: [tw] Re: search by type?
Hi Alex why doesn't it return the icons? they are SVG right? Most of the SVG icons included in the core are actually wikitext tiddlers containing SVG elements. They get rendered as inline SVG elements, rather than IMG elements. The reason we use them is because it enables SVG elements to be styled with CSS, which is how we are able to change the toolbar button colours dynamically. Re: [tw] how can I use a tiddler title as part of external link
Hi Bob The simplest way to do this is to define a macro: \define manLink(title) [[$title$|http://manpages.debian.org/cgi-bin/man.cgi?query=$title$]] \end The dollar syntax is used within a macro definition to perform textual substitution of a macro parameter value. The substitutions are performed before the content of the macro are parsed and rendered, which allows you to use substitution to build up bits of wikitext syntax. You'd call it like this: manLink apt-get We can build a second macro that links to the current tiddler like this: \define manLinkCurrentTiddler() manLink $(currentTiddler)$ \end The $()$ syntax performs textual substitution of a variable value. The variable currentTiddler contains the title of the current tiddler. It would be called like this: manLinkCurrentTiddler You can make both macros into global macros by placing the two definitions in a tiddler and tagging it $:/tags/Macro. Best wishes Jeremy. For this use case I'd do it like this: Creat a tiddler manpage: \define manpage() [[$(currentTiddler)$|http: //manpages.debian.org/cgi-bin/man.cgi?query=$(currentTiddler)$]] manpage Use it like this: 1. In a tiddler for a command {{||manpage}} 2.
