[tw] Re: TiddlyWiki Classic - Saving Issues

2014-10-25 Thread Christoph Laurer
Hi Yakov,

okay, before I give you my setup, I have to thank you! My TW works and
saves as usual, when I edit it with TiddlyDesktop.

Nevertheless, it still doesn't work in the browser, so I think we'll
proceed with solving the problem, if only as a basis for other users or the
TW QA.

Am Mittwoch, 15. Oktober 2014 19:19:55 UTC+2 schrieb Yakov:

Ah, ok, that shouldn't cause the problem. Unless.. well.. is it in
MarkupPreHeader or other such tiddler? Or in PageTemplate? Or you have
manually edited the TiddlyWiki html file? (the last thing may be not that
 harmless).

I'm pretty sure it is neither of those. Just an ordinary Page set as a
starting page with a html style div tag.

With TiddlyFox [1]?

Just tried it. It actually works here, with this configuration. Saving
works normally!

 Also, have you tried TiddlyDesktop?

Yes, and that also works. So I guess the problem might lie with the
browsers (Safari and Chrome)

OS X version
 Java version
 browser version
 TW version
TiddlySaver.. version.. well, attach it here at least
 list of modified shadow tiddlers
 list of tiddlers tagged systemConfig
(or, to reduce the complexity, try to save in an empty TW of latest
version and probably latest Java and latest TiddlySaver)

My system:

 OS X 10.6.8.
Java 13.9.8
Safari 5.1.10, Chrome 40.0.2194.2
Tiddly Wiki 2.5.6
TiddlySaver see attachment
Modified Shadow Tiddlers: There a feature where to check this. I'd say I
definitely changed MainMenu, SiteTitle, SiteSubtitle, StyleSheet,
StyleSheetLayout, StyleSheetColors, WindowTitle, DefaultTiddlers. With
everything else, I'm not quite sure.
SystemConfigTiddlers:
- AttachFilePlugin
- AttachFilePluginFormatters
- CheckboxPlugin
- GermanTranslation
- MapPlugin
- PlayerPlugin
- Slideshow
- sortableTable
- Table of Contents

But, thanks again Yakuv for getting my Wiki back on track. :-D

Re: [tw] [TW5] KaTex: How to extend fonts by math bold, math italic, math bold italic?

2014-10-25 Thread Jeremy Ruston
Hi Wladyslaw

It seems that currently KaTex plugin in TW5 does use only regular AMS
font (woff).

The KaTeX plugin currently ships with the following fonts:

KaTeX_AMS-Regular.woff
KaTeX_Main-Bold.woff
KaTeX_Main-Italic.woff
KaTeX_Main-Regular.woff
KaTeX_Math-BoldItalic.woff
KaTeX_Math-Italic.woff
KaTeX_Math-Regular.woff
KaTeX_Size1-Regular.woff
KaTeX_Size2-Regular.woff
KaTeX_Size3-Regular.woff
KaTeX_Size4-Regular.woff

The plugin excludes the .eot, .ttf and .woff2 versions of the fonts because
the full KaTeX font set is about one megabyte, which is quite big for a TW
plugin (right now the entire KaTeX plugin is about 377KB).

How to extend it by math bold, math italic, math bold italic?

Unless I'm misunderstanding something, bold, italic and bold italic are
already included. What browser and operating system are you using?

Best wishes

Jeremy.

Re: [tw] Re: search by type?

2014-10-25 Thread Jeremy Ruston
Hi Alex

why doesn't it return the icons? they are SVG right?

Most of the SVG icons included in the core are actually wikitext tiddlers
containing SVG elements. They get rendered as inline SVG elements, rather
than IMG elements. The reason we use them is because it enables SVG
elements to be styled with CSS, which is how we are able to change the
toolbar button colours dynamically.

Best wishes

tiddler content I want to have a few links automatically add the title of
the tiddler to them

i.e. if I make a tiddler for a bash command, say apt-get, I would like to
have the link in the content read as

and

[[currentTitle|http://manpages.debian.org/cgi-bin/man.cgi?query=currentTitle]]

I have also tried both currentTitle and {{!!title}} within a standard
a href type html link but nothing works

I have looked into the linkwidget but that info has just made my brain

I hope somebody could point out where my thinking is going wrong and how to
achieve this

Re: [tw] how can I use a tiddler title as part of external link

2014-10-25 Thread Jeremy Ruston
Hi Bob

The simplest way to do this is to define a macro:

\define manLink(title)
[[$title$|http://manpages.debian.org/cgi-bin/man.cgi?query=$title$]]
\end

The dollar syntax is used within a macro definition to perform textual
substitution of a macro parameter value. The substitutions are performed
before the content of the macro are parsed and rendered, which allows you
to use substitution to build up bits of wikitext syntax.

You'd call it like this:

manLink apt-get

We can build a second macro that links to the current tiddler like this:

\define manLinkCurrentTiddler()
manLink $(currentTiddler)$
\end

The $()$ syntax performs textual substitution of a variable value. The
variable currentTiddler contains the title of the current tiddler.

It would be called like this:

manLinkCurrentTiddler

You can make both macros into global macros by placing the two definitions
in a tiddler and tagging it $:/tags/Macro.

Best wishes

Jeremy.

[tw] Re: how can I use a tiddler title as part of external link

2014-10-25 Thread Stephan Hradek
For this use case I'd do it like this:

Creat a tiddler manpage:

\define manpage() [[$(currentTiddler)$|http:
//manpages.debian.org/cgi-bin/man.cgi?query=$(currentTiddler)$]]

manpage

Use it like this:

1. In a tiddler for a command

{{||manpage}}

2. In any other tiddler where you want to link to a specific command, not
being the tiddler's title

The manpage tiddler is a page template which simply gives you the link,
you asked for.

Re: [tw] [TW5] KaTex: How to extend fonts by math bold, math italic, math bold italic?

2014-10-25 Thread Wladyslaw Skarbek
Hi Jeremy

Thank you for the reply.

Why I have assumed that bold fonts are missing:
each of standard Latex bolding expressions results in error, e.g.:

\mathbf{x}
{\boldmath x}

The same, I get with the relevant commands of AMS package.

It is rather confusing - having fonts without their access.
KaTex original github page says nothing on style modifications.
Therefore I assumed the Latex notation.
Can you clarify?

Cheers

Vwadec

 Hi Wladyslaw

It seems that currently KaTex plugin in TW5 does use only regular AMS
 font (woff).

The KaTeX plugin currently ships with the following fonts:

 KaTeX_AMS-Regular.woff
 KaTeX_Main-Bold.woff
 KaTeX_Main-Italic.woff
 KaTeX_Main-Regular.woff
 KaTeX_Math-BoldItalic.woff
 KaTeX_Math-Italic.woff
 KaTeX_Math-Regular.woff
 KaTeX_Size1-Regular.woff
 KaTeX_Size2-Regular.woff
 KaTeX_Size3-Regular.woff
 KaTeX_Size4-Regular.woff

The plugin excludes the .eot, .ttf and .woff2 versions of the fonts
because the full KaTeX font set is about one megabyte, which is quite big
for a TW plugin (right now the entire KaTeX plugin is about 377KB).

How to extend it by math bold, math italic, math bold italic?

Unless I'm misunderstanding something, bold, italic and bold italic are
already included. What browser and operating system are you using?

 Best wishes

 Jeremy.
