Good suggestion. I forget tiddlywiki is web based, but use the Chrome dev

[tw5] Re: TOC dichotomy

2021-02-21 Thread springer
General troubleshooting tip: Browsers offer some kind of "Inspect" function
(at least, that's what it's called on Chrome) that lets you peek at how
css is getting applied to any given element on the page.

Those arrows (when they're displaying in the sidebar seem to use the
sidebar-foreground palette color. (At least, on tiddlywiki.com, changing
that bit on the palette is what makes the difference.)

So your cloned Nord-variant sidebar probably collapsed that value to that
it's indistinguishable from the sidebar background...

@Mat,
The stylesheet is more than enough.
I think it is the same size font in SideEditor - but somehow it looks
smaller, i think the line height is smaller. It might just be a feeling.
I have not changed the font in the normal editor.
I am using Ctrl + rather often when I am tired to find my TW mistakes.
Better that than the eyes popping out LOL

To extract only those lines is more tricky. Exactly how tricky probably

[tw5] Grep like function in TW5 possible?

2021-02-21 Thread Ray Vermey
Hi all,

I have an idea, maybe it is alrady there but this is what i just think
I would like a tiddler say John Doe where every line in every tiddler that
has John Doe in it will be placed automatically in that John Doe tiddler

Like a grep in Linux, only the lines with John Doe in it.

Is that possible?

 Hi,
If you use markdown, you should use the markdown standard, which is
 defined as

So just put 2 spaces at the end of the line and it will create a
 hard-linebreak

If you want to do the same with TW syntax see:

  -
 https://tiddlywiki.com/#Hard%20Linebreaks%20in%20WikiText:%5B%5BHard%20Linebreaks%20in%20WikiText%5D%5D%20%5B%5BHard%20Linebreaks%20with%20CSS%20-%20Example%5D%5D%20%5B%5BHard%20Linebreaks%20with%20CSS%5D%5D

Or you can use my space-space-newline plugin. It works the same way as
 MD syntax.

[tw5] Re: How to make a keyboard shortcut for line breaks?

2021-02-21 Thread Peter Erne
Hi Chris,
thanks for the clarification! For me, bullet lists and numbered lists
(including these line breaks are an important feature and I am using STROLL
> i made an nteresting observation: I downloaded Marios plugin. It works in
original TW with reasonable output: also for lists it works great, an
space-space-enter at the end produces a new paragraph and for a next
bullet/numbers I need to again hit * or #. However, in STROLL, hitting
space-space-enter at the end of a bullet paragraph produces a correctly
indented new line but with a (unneccessary) * or # at the beginning. No
clue how to turn this off. Any idea?

kind regards
Peter

Sorry, Mark S! You are of course right. I do not normally use tiddly
desktop. I do not know why, but it takes about 10 years and a war to start
it on my computer.

The tiddler $:/core/ui/TiddlerInfo/References has a caption field with
 the $:/language/TiddlerInfo/References/Caption transcluded. Maybe you
 tiddler is overwritten earlier?

[tw5] Re: trying to embed gist (github) in tiddler

2021-02-21 Thread Soren Bjornstad
AFAIK, tags are not supported within tiddlers for security
reasons. Iframes do work (I embed Google Maps in some of my tiddlers), but
presumably not if they contain scripts. Is there some other way to embed a
gist?
