my oringinal lesions in 2004 were on the lower part of my spinal colomnwhitch still are there on my recent MRI.my mid section has been numb and feels like i have a tight band around me..when my neurolist told me about TM starting on my neck area i asked him if i was starting with MS but he told me no at the present time...he said further MRI's will be done to see how it is doing. - Original Message - From: Kevin Wolfthal [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Tmic-list@eskimo.com Sent: Monday, August 20, 2007 11:56 PM Subject: Re: [TMIC] Lyrica/Neurontin Hi Robert, Glad to hear the neurontin is helping you. I still don't know why my diagnosing doctor wouldn't put me on neurontin when I asked him about it. You mention that TM may be starting in your neck area. Where was the initial lesion? I thought that if new lesions form, the diagnosis changes. Anyone? She didn't want to increase my Neurontin, and I wasn't really interested in that either. She also helped me with better information about my Baclofen dosing and spasms, so that's working out much better. I've actually been getting a bit more sleep at night. I didn't really want to change anything around, as I was doing well on the Neurontin for 8 yrs. Well, that is until it just wasn't handling the pain. I was doing well without any bad side effects. I had some speech problems where I couldn't grasp my words for the entire time really, some weight gain, but not really anything else that was noticable or that I remember at the moment, lol. Heck, I've taken it for so long that I'm used to whatever state that I'm in. It takes someone on the outside to notice that I'm a bit odd or off. Can anyone out there tell me how long it took them to get over the really bad fatigue factor? So far I'm not noticing any other symptoms. I've taken for 4 days now, and am still on the same dosage of Neurontin. The doc gave me 50mg caps, and told me to take for a week before changing my regime with Neurontin. I am then to raise it and lower my Neurontin based on her instructions. Re: [TMIC] Lyrica/Neurontin
Hi Frank, I am taking Neurontin 5200mg/day and Topomax 100mg/day. I was given 50mg caps of Lyrica. I was told to take one Lyrica for a week with no change in anything. Then if successful, I can take away 400mg Neurontin and add 50 more Lyrica once per day. This is where we will start. How does this sound to you? No other pain meds, other than Vicodin when I need it, about 3x week or so. Hugs to you, Barbara A ** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
[TMIC] Multiple lesions in MS and NMO.
Hi Frank, Kevin, In my case, two lesions (Both LETM's) led to a definitive diagnosis of NMO. There are several other factors to be considered whenever leaning towards MS. One is the presence/absence of oligoclonal bands in the CSF. Grace
Re: [TMIC] Superpubic
I have had a suprapubic catheter since 5/05 when I got too weak to walk again. My home health nurse changes it once a month. When I go out I can change from the big collection bag to a leg bag which hids under my dress easier. They tell my husband could be taught to change it. He should learn since he cut the line to the balloon one night while changing the bandages and we had to get the evening home health nurse to come change it. Before I had this 14 French catheter, I had something that had a tiny metal wire in my bladder but it got stopped up or plugged often and made me bleed a lot since I am on Coumadin. I do have to go to see my urologist next month so he can look inside to make sure nothing bad is happening. I remember one of the risks is that you can get cancer. I don't know if my bladder will work once I start walking again and take this out. Re: [TMIC] Superpubic
Hi Hildred, How has your suprapubic been as far as infections? Does it offer the optional valve feature? Two of my friends are considering this now, but were anxious to find out just how much benefit they are from someone who has/had one. The convenience that they offer sounds wonderful. Your friend, Grace

Re: [TMIC] Superpubic
Hi again Hildred, I found a very popular model that is used in the UK that has an optional valve feature which allows one to go without the bag for periods of time. Some indwelling models have that capability, but I don't know if they have been FDA approved here in the States. My two buddies are hoping to be offered that feature. That's good news about no infections!! Grace
Re: [TMIC] SUBSCRIBE (see below)
I remember this happened to a lot of us off and on for about a year a couple of years ago. It was a mystery then and appears to be one now too. As Barbara says just 'resubscribe'.
