FRANK, I HAVE BEEN TOLD 2 LESIONS DOES NOT HAVE TO MEAN MS.

Interesting?

I have read and been told... Another he said, she said

Let me think

T.M. by definition is a single episode affliction...

So, I guess, if both lesions are from the same episode, you could have 2
lesions with the diagnosis of T.M.

Does that make sense??

Grace,

What does NMO stand for?

Re: [TMIC] Devic's disease

2007-08-23 Thread Grace M.

You're absolutely right on that one, Frank. The term TM is sort of all
inclusive referring to lesion type. It means exactly what it says it
does---T-transverse. M-myelitis. For example, whenever they do my MRI's
they always refer to my lesions as transverse lesions. Yet, I, don't have
what can actually be considered TM, as in the regular sense. Devic's is a
totally different disease process. We know that for sure, due to the
actual pathology of the disease and since the discovery of the antibody.

[TMIC] OT/Daughter going to be all right.

2007-08-23 Thread Grace M.
They ended up having to life flight her, but all is well. Some heavy cuts,
lots of abrasions. I had a really hard time getting to the accident
scene---they told me *No*. I told them *YES!*, and my neighbor gunned the
engine and off we went. The car brought me to my knees. She's an
inexperienced driver, as it is. Evidently, she was traveling at a high rate
of speed (60-65mph) on our country road, and attempted to pass a handicapped
community service bus,(My bus.) hitting it in the process. A Fed Ex truck
was coming so she veered off the road and climbed a bank, taking out 3 or 4
small trees before rolling several times. My God, the car was on it's roof,
the front bumper had somehow gotten tangled in the back axles, exposed and
displaced motor and gas and fluids everywhere. No one knows how those
children lived. Only a half hour later the car burst into flames and
burned. Thank God for seat belts and air bags. I'm over at my Exes house
today as I stayed here all night. Her passenger is still hospitalised and
was on a morphine drip last night as he couldn't stand the pain of his
ribs. She refused to allow them to admit her, so she is here with
me. She did a lot of moaning last night, and so I kept checking on her
through the night. They assured her Dad that there are no internal
injuries, but it's scary nonetheless. There is a compassionate and loving
God who was looking after them.

Grace,

I'm so thankful that your daughter and her friend were not more seriously hurt.
I hope they both have no long term affects.
Remember to take care of yourself as well. Easy to say, hard to do when you
are no doubt worried about them both.

Hugs,

Isn't it only that you have more than one disease going on at the same time?
Maybe it is exacerbated by the TM...I don't know what the deal is...you
don't have TM Devics disease...just Devics disease. And you have TM as well.
Or is my thinking too simplistic? Why can't you have more than one disease
going on at the same time like many of us do?
