I have question, are there anyone out there on Lyrica? Is it better than Neurontin? or can someone explain it to me. Hp - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, April 19, 2008 6:12 PM Subject: tmic-digest Digest V2008 #178

I have been on Lyrica for more than 2 years. Itake 450 mg per day and have not found negative side effects. It has proven helpful to me in lessening the banding and pins and needles sensations! Re: [TMIC] Re: tmic-digest Digest V2008 #178
Good morning. I'm on 450 mg/day of Lyrica. I still have a great deal of pain but the Lyrica takes the edge off. I was on Gabapentin for a while but it wasn't helping at all. I have never taken Neurontin so I can't compare. Harold I've had TM since '02 and was on neurontin for years. I was up to 2400mg a day. Then Lyrica appeared on the market. When I asked my neuro he just said it was the newest drug on the market for neuropathic pain, seemed to have less side effects. Now as we know we are all very unique and so is TM. Many tried to switch from Neurontin to Lyrica but were not able to tolerate it. I take 150mg. twice a day. Tho now after reading that some are on 450mg. a day I might ask about increasing it. I have quite a bit of pain. I also take 60mg. of cymbalta (this drug is used for depression but was found to help many with neuropathic pain.) Two birds with one stone! I hope this has been helpful. I was given Neurontin in the early days of my illness. It made me very lethargic, and I was unable to tolerate it. My doctor then prescribed Lyrica. I take 400 mg twice a day. I also take 60 mg of Cymbalta, Vicodin three times a day, and also use a 50 mg Fentanyl patch. I still have pain, but I cannot imagine what it would be like if I were not taking these medications. Please before you bring up a subject, please check the archives. Ofcourse things will change in time, but some discussions are still fresh. By checking the archives on subjects you only can find a answer to your questions, but can also get a better few in the case you are interested in and come up with questions no one had thought about. Not that I will say that any question have to be checked, but a lot of medication is already discussed. [TMIC] Re: Drugs for pain
Harold, I was frightened by the drugs used to control TM pain... especially by the ramp up and adjustment I had read about. I now only use naltrexone and take an aspirin daily. I'm so grateful I learned about low dose naltrexone on this list. Akua --
Re: [TMIC] Re: Drugs for pain
It's always so interesting to read the different messages on the meds and see what our providers have us on. With the TM it certainly comes down to treating the symptoms and often times the symptoms are different from day to day. I truly appreciate reading all of your different e-mails and thank you all. Wim, (and all of you who have been with TMIC longer) please forgive my ignorance but why do we have both this site plus the archives? I just went into the archives (thank you!) and notice the same 'type' of conversations but they are divided into 'subject' and it is helpful to see that some are pretty current. I tried to find the answer before even sending this message. Thank you ALL for all of your input. I do so appreciate it! The archives are just previous messages that have come through the TMIC. If it is in the archives that just means it has been discussed before, but that doesn't mean it can't be discussed again for those who weren't here then. To Jeanne and all the new comers, yiou guys can post whatever you guys want because whats in the archives can be old and someone may have a new development. There is no rule about posting the same question or subject twice. I may want to ask a question again that i already just to see if anyone has gheard something new on it. take care SaL [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: The archives are just previous messages that have come through the TMIC. Re: [TMIC] again Lyrica
Thanks, Sal...I can't tell you how much this site has meant to me. Before I signed up for it, I was all alone with the TM and had so many questions. Since I found all of you, I can't wait to look at my e-mail each day to see what is happening and to 'talk' to you. I don't care if it is something we ve already talked about. Each time there seems to be something 'different' or new. The biggest thing is that this is so easy and fast and if the subject is something that doesn't pertain to me, I still like reading it. I don't want to lose our own TMIC... And HEY!!! I signed up for the Seattle Symposium and just made reservations in that big fancy hotel $$$ so I'm hoping to see some of you!! This is going to be a wonderful vacation for Jack and I and from what I hear, it is going to be really helpful for all of us who go!
