RE: [TMIC] queston

2008-04-07 Thread Robert Pall
I just went for an MRI today...the first one in more than 10 years. I
also went and had bloodwork done on Saturday. The reason for this is
that I have not been feeling good for a while now and for the first time
I am having burning/freezing in my good leg. It is hard after 10
years to deal with new problems! Hopefully the test will ind something
treatable.

I think it is so strange that sometimes I feel good and other days I
have burning and tingling. What makes us feel so different if there is
no change? I cannot understand that at all. I have had MRI's every
year for the past 5 years and as far as lesions and spots on my brain
goes, nothing has changed.

Hi Diane,
It is such a strange thing. I know the price of overdoing it. Usually
2-3 days of complete rest. It is not easy when you are a single Mom of a 13
year old. I have 4 acres, a horse, dog, and cat. I also work part time. I
am not complaining. I love my life. But before TM I would be able to go
nonstop and even after 5 years, I still want to do it all. It is just so
scary
when you have those bad days because you think, IS THIS IT.

Wow, I'm impressed with you, Linda! The main thing is to never stop wanting
to do it all!!

Something to remember (always on the positive side) is that even without the
TM, we could still be having these aches and pains but since we do have this
it is always a good idea to mention them to your provider especially so
they can have it in your record.

Thank you, Naomi! You are so right in that we get pretty excited whenever
there is a positive change even if it is on one's butt!!! I have fallen so
many times sitting somewhere because I can't tell if I'm sitting squarely on
the seat. We just laugh about it and go on!

Me too Linda. Guess that nerve network has a mind of its own. There are times
though that I do find an answer if I take my emotional temperature or remind
myself that I did a bit more than usual yesterday. There always seems to be a

Good news!!! I've been noticing a change where I can feel temperature
on my skin on the left side which is the one that has never been able
to feel temps! I felt a cool sensation when I was taking off my
clothes and then felt the warmth of the shower! I could even feel it
on my old butt and thigh!! It still feels numb inside but this is a
REAL change! I would do cartwheels if I could!!

Rob,

I had an incident starting in January of this year. My legs started
tingling and burning, then my arms started, which I never had before. Very
Scary! I went for 2 MRI's, one of the brain and one cervical. Nothing new in
the scans. But I did show very bad sinus problems. I was on an antibiotic
and about 1 week after the symptoms started to go away. My whole body felt
inflamed for almost 2 months. Then day by day I started feeling better. I am
starting again with the sinus problem and starting to tingle in my back. I
have an appointment with my doctor on 4/7. I had sinus infection in the
beginning. Have you been sick lately or completely run down. Those are the 2
things that make me worse.

[TMIC] queston

2008-03-31 Thread Robert Pall
Need a little help! After more than 10 years I started having
new symptoms in my left (the good one) leg. My left leg has always had
pins needles...but this weekend I had the burning (freezing) sensation
and although it has not gotten worse..it has not gone back to what I
call normal. I have e mailed Dr. Kerr and hopefully he will supply some
in sight. I also want to thank members on the list who have given me
names of Nerros in New Jersey that they use and are happy with...I will
contact at least one of them. In all honesty I am somewhat afraid! I
thought I have been dealing with TM in as positive way as is possible. I
just don't know if I could handle another episode especially if It
requires hospitalization.
I know all of us do not have one day that is exactly the same as
the previous one...but have any of you experienced new feelings (good or
bad) that was not a result of a relapse? If this continues I doubt if I
can continue working as the discomfort does not allow me to concentrate
on my work. I can only focus on the new feeling of burning!
Thank you for any insight you can provide.

Rob,

I was afflicted with TM in 2000. Recently I began having new symptoms and
increased pain during the Medication Valleys. I went for an MRI which showed
a cinching in at the level of my lesion (C5). The demyelination was followed
by scarring, and the scarring contracted causing the indentation around the
spinal cord. This took eight years to occure as the previous yearly MRI's
didn't shown any cinching.

Now the question is does someone operate?? I think Not!!

Yes, Rob, I have experienced strange sensations and feelings and feared a
relapse or second episode, but it ended up just being some weird thing.
Sometimes it would just be for a day, sometimes it would last for months and
then
fade away. You're doing well to get it checked out, and I hope that's all it
will be for you, just some strange nerve signal that will resolve in time.

Rob, I know I've only had this 3 years and have different symptoms here and
there quite often but the rest doesn't seem to change. I always have the
burning/freezing plus the pins and needles, worse on the left but have had
it from the start. I just keep on with my water therapy and soon a walking
regime. Whenever things got really bad compared to the everyday symptoms I
too was afraid that it was a relapse but realized it was usually following
working out too hard, traveling where I sat too long, or let myself get too
tired.

I think your idea of asking Dr. Kerr is a good one.
