Is that not an oversimplification for things to work automatically sbs and it's players needs to be on the same network, this network can consist of several ap's etc . Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Cannot access my Network Drive with New Access Point.......
Start all over... Yes, the important thing is that the Squeezebox and SB Server need to be on the same network in order to automatically see each other. How is the new access point wired? If it's connected to the old router via it's 'WAN' or 'Internet' port, then anything behind the new router will be on a different network. In order to operate as an access point on the same network as the old router, the new router needs to be connected via one of its LAN ports to a LAN port on the old router. What are the IP addresses of the server and the Touch? On the Touch, go to Settings Advanced Diagnostics and find the IP address. On the server, in the web interface go to Settings Information Server IP Address. -- JJZolx JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88036 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Cannot access my Network Drive with New Access Point.......
Aha, the Touch and the server ARE on different subnets so the discovery protocol is not going to work. To try and find each other Both the Touch and the server send out a UDP multicast packet, basically saying is anybody out there. This only works if the Touch and the player are on the same subnet. There are a couple possibilities: you have a static IP on the Touch, set to the wrong subnet, higly unlikely, you have to WORK to do that. Your new router is still behaving as a router, not a pure AP. This is the most likely case. You have a couple options at this point: figure out how to get that new router to REALLY be an AP (no routing no NATing). Skip the auto discovery part and tell the Touch the actual IP address of the server. There IS a screen on the Touch that will let you type in the address of the server (it probably calls it a remote library), I don't remember exactly how to get there, I think its in the My Music menu. The actual playing music can be on a different subnet, its just the auto discovery part that needs to be on the same subnet. [SlimDevices: Touch] 100 song max in playlist using Tiny SBS??
I just put on my HD, Rolling Stones 500 best songs in FLAC. Went to play it on my touch and it said it was only able to load 100 songs into the playlist. I am using the built-in server on the touch with a USB HD attached ( 120 gb). Is this limitaion because of the Tiny SBS? Any way around it?? Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Cannot access my Network Drive with New Access Point.......
The only other thing that could be going on is that there's another DHCP server running on your network that is handing out addresses on the 192.168.1.x subnet. Are you sure you've disabled the DHCP _server_ on the WGR614, and not just the DHCP _client_? It could be confusing. I'm sure they can both be disabled in the configuration options of the router. Although it's not required, you normally want such a network device to have a static IP address. To do so, you would disable the DHCP *client* on the router, so that the router itself doesn't retrieve an IP address from the original DHCP server. Then assign the new router an IP address that is outside the other DHCP server's address pool. Then you also must disable the DHCP *server* on the new router. -- JJZolx JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88036 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] 100 song max in playlist using Tiny SBS??
Yes, TinySBS has a max playlist size of 100 tracks. Unlike regular SBS there is no way to alter this on TinySBS. Well, maybe you could hack the code in TinySBS. But the 100 track limit was put in place for performance reasons, so even if you hacked it you might not like the results. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88073 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
