Not sure what change - I know I tested ubuntu-pd, specifically
connecting/disconnecting hdmi and using OSK as part of the landing of
mir0.19.2, maybe it was a bit of a race with the qtmir/unity8

  on moako ubuntu-pd image 140

  stable phone overlay ppa says
  mir 0.19.2 published Feb 11
  qtmir Feb 9
  unity8 Feb 9
  u-s-c Feb 5

  At the moment I see
  1) the OSK won't popup on the n4-screen-as-trackpad
   2) whatever is focused app while connected to hdmi, if you hold the phone in
portrait mode and unplug - the app will not fill the whole screen or resize
properly
   as an example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pehRcVwXnE
  and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Z3MFseEBDc
   3) specifically i saw the dash become totally weird (wrong size assets and
all jumbled) after #2 (only saw this once, haven't been able to repro)
  4) shell seemed to freeze then crash, i could interact with app...but lost
launcher and app switcher (also only saw once, but got the file)

one more note: i kind of wonder if this is related to rotation

Bug description:
  Krillin, rc-proposed, r83

  DESCRIPTION:
I've been trying to track down the cause of the occasional UI freezes on my
Krillin device, and I noticed that whenever the UI freezes for 2-4 seconds, I
get a burst of "PropertiesChanged" signals in dbus-monitor

  Here's a log of what's shown in dbus-monitor:
  http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/11992322/

I'd guess the problem is in the code that actually catches the signals
  and acts accordingly.

  HOW TO REPRODUCE:
  1) Move to a place where many wifi hotspots are available
  2) Connect the device via USB and run "phablet-shell" and then "dbus-monitor"
  3) Use the device while keeping an eye on dbus-monitor output

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1539700] Re: Audio cd's play with background buzzing

2016-02-15 Thread flocculant
I found if I enabled crossfade then played audio it worked, took a
reboot to get the issue.

ftr - removing gstreamer1.0-plugins-base 1.7.1-1ubuntu1 and installing
the wily version gstreamer1.0-plugins-base_1.6.0-1ubuntu1 the issue of
'buzzing' disappears.

Same with the clementine playback issue I reported in the older bug I
reported at 1537184

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1545302] Re: wpa-roam broken by fix for ifupdown #1337873

Title:
wpa-roam broken by fix for ifupdown #1337873

Status in wpa package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The following versions of ifupdown introduced a recursion check using
"IFUPDOWN_" environment variables along with a new locking mechanism
for ifup (see #1337873):
  0.7.47.2ubuntu4.2 (in Trusty)
  0.7.54ubuntu1.1 (in Wily)
  0.7.54ubuntu2 (in Xenial)

This recursion check breaks the wpa-roam feature of wpasupplicant,
preventing it from loading the logical interface specified by id_str
after associating with an AP. Specifically, after upgrading to one of
the above ifupdown versions, the '/sbin/ifup -v --force
"$WPA_IFACE=$WPA_LOGICAL_IFACE"' command run by wpa_action in
functions.sh fails with an "ifup: recursion detected for parent
interface wlan0 in post-up phase" error.

To fix the issue, functions.sh needs to run `unset
"IFDOWN_$WPA_IFACE"` before calling /sbin/ifup to prevent ifup from
detecting the recursion. The attached patch implements this change.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1540477] Re: [Scopes] Playlist playback should also work with card previews

2016-02-15 Thread Paty Davila
@Saviq - I've changed the bug description and discussed this with
Albert. This behaviour should apply to background playback from card
main view and preview.

** Description changed:

Currently, users can only play one song at a time from a music album
card preview and they cannot skip next/previous song from sound
indicator panel because these songs are not part of a playlist.

The desired behaviour is described below:

When user starts playing a song from an album in scopes card preview,
this will automatically create a playlist of that album enabling the
user to continue listening to the list of songs in the background. Also,
user can control this playlist from the media integration with
indicators (pause, skip next/previous song). If the user leaves the card
preview screen and navigate to other parts of the scope UI, we will
continue to play that 'playlist' in the background, even if the new card
results in the main view do not match the contents of that playlist.

- All the songs of an album are to be added automatically to a playlist
- and will be played in the original track order (assuming that the
- sequential numbering is in the track number tags) . For example, if the
- user starts by playing song number 4 and there’re 10 songs in this
- album, the playback order will be: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 1, 2, 3.
+ Songs in a playlist will be played in the original album order. For
+ example, if user starts playing song number 4, the playlist will
+ continue to play in sequential order until the end of the album.

This behaviour applies to locally stored media (my music) as well as
online content coming from our partners (i.e: 7Digital albums).
+
+ Also, 'Repeat' and 'shuffle' are desirable features for controlling a
+ playlist and we might want to include them in the near future.

  At the moment I see
  1) the OSK won't popup on the n4-screen-as-trackpad
   2) whatever is focused app while connected to hdmi, if you hold the phone in

properly

   3) specifically i saw the dash become totally weird (wrong size assets and
all jumbled) after #2 (only saw this once, haven't been able to repro)
  4) shell seemed to freeze then crash, i could interact with app...but lost
launcher and app switcher (also only saw once, but got the file)

one more note: i kind of wonder if this is related to rotation

As a FYI : some of those devices may have an IC that allows for NOBATOP
operation. For example, the TI BQ24160 was popular in Android handsets and
has support for such a mode.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1543351] Re: osk with puritine apps

2016-02-15 Thread kevin gunn
** Description changed:

+ From perspective of product management - this is currently not a
+ requirement, just want to capture it for future
+
we currently can't interact with puritine apps relying on the OSK

to add this feature in where text-box selection on an xapp results in
triggering the osk, in unity8 would be a very large/complicated effort.
However, with a manual capability to trigger the OSK this could be
  achieved.

  For design team
one idea was to add a show/hide button for the OSK.
realizing this may be undesirable to add another indicator item - a follow-on
idea might be to add an alpha button in the corner of the xmir-root window (the
window that holds any xapp at the moment)
this way the button presence would only be limited to the Xapp interaction.

of the welcome wizard

  EXPECTED:
I expect the emulator cursor to follow the mouse cursor and be able to click
on things

  ACTUAL:
Emulator cursors stay in the top left preventing movement.

As noted below F6 toggles the input mode.
The pointer movement is quite slow and jerky.
You also can no longer initiate an edge swipe even in trackball mode.

This is a major regression from how the emulator used to perform.

  My problem:

  *What I expected to happen:
In our environment we have a cups print server delivering different print
queues, e.g. elbe_transparency. For all queues I get the same faulty result
running lpoptions, e.g. for

  lpoptions -l -d elbe_transparency

  I get

lpoptions: Unable to get PPD file for elbe_transparency: Moved
  Permanently.

And also GUI apps like Evince have problems due to this bug.

  * What I did so far:

  (a) I used wireshark to capture the ipp protocol and found that lpoptions
tries to retrieve the PPD
for the printer elbe with device-uri
"ipp://elbe.tnt.ifn.et.tu-dresden.de:631" from that device URI
instead of the cups server with printer-uri-supported
"ipp://192.168.3.5:631/printers/elbe_transparency".
This makes sense when the device URI is actually another CUPS server, but not
when, as in our case, it is a
network-attached printer that "talks" IPP natively. It will not have the PPD
at the CUPS-specific URL.

  (b) I used "strace -s1000 lpoptions -p elbe_transparency -l 2>lpoptions.txt"
to get
  ...
  sendto(9, "GET /.ppd HTTP/1.1\r\nHost:
elbe.tnt.ifn.et.tu-dresden.de:631\r\nUser-Agent: CUPS/1.7.2 (Linux
3.16.0-60-generic; x86_64) IPP/2.0\r\n\r\n", 129, 0, NULL, 0) = 129
  poll([{fd=9, events=POLLIN}], 1, 6) = 1 ([{fd=9, revents=POLLIN}])
  recvfrom(9, "HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently\r\nServer:
Virata-EmWeb/R6_2_1\r\nLocation:
https://elbe.tnt.ifn.et.tu-dresden.de/.ppd\r\nContent-Type:
text/html\r\nContent-Length:
110\r\n\r\nMovedhttps://elbe.tnt.ifn.et.tu-dresden.de/.ppd\;>Moved\r\n",
2048, 0, NULL, NULL) = 273
  ...
which shows the same problem as described above.

  * Where does the problem come from
The actual problem can be found in cups/util.c (1.7.2) within function
cups_get_printer_uri() starting at line 1623. At line 1719 one finds

  if (device_uri &&
   (!strncmp(device_uri, "ipp://", 6) ||
   !strncmp(device_uri, "ipps://", 7) ||
   ((strstr(device_uri, "._ipp.") != NULL ||
 strstr(device_uri, "._ipps.") != NULL) &&
!strcmp(device_uri + strlen(device_uri) - 5, "/cups"{...}
  else if ((attr = ippFindAttribute(response, "member-uris", IPP_TAG_URI)) !=
NULL) {...}
  else if ((attr = ippFindAttribute(response, "printer-uri-supported",
IPP_TAG_URI)) != NULL){...}

The problem is that always the statement of the first if block is
executed as our printer has device-uri "ipp://elbe.tnt.ifn.et.tu-
dresden.de:631. However, it should execute the third block with
printer-uri-supported. This problem was discussed several times
  before, e.g.

  https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=729713.

In later versions of cups this was fixed by

  if (device_uri &&
  (((!strncmp(device_uri, "ipp://", 6) || !strncmp(device_uri,
"ipps://", 7)) &&
  (strstr(device_uri, "/printers/") != NULL || strstr(device_uri,
"/classes/") != NULL)) ||
   ((strstr(device_uri, "._ipp.") != NULL || strstr(device_uri,
"._ipps.") != NULL) &&
!strcmp(device_uri + strlen(device_uri) - 5, "/cups"

to ensure the device URI is actually another CUPS server. Please,
could you fix this asap. We have many Ubuntu machines in our
environment and this bug is really annoying. Many thanks for your help
  in advance.

It is not limited to frieza. Once you have 3 or 4 developer devices, you

on that particular device, rest assured it wants to be charged for 10

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1429852] Re: --

2016-02-15 Thread Michael Smith
** Summary changed:

- It is much too hard to file a bug report
+ --

** Description changed:

- Usability issue: the process of filing a bug report is too hard.
-
- Steps to reproduce:
-
- Imagine your desktop application (e.g. gnucash) is misbehaving, and you
- want to help Ubuntu. These are the steps for a first time bug report:
-
- (0) look through the application's menus, no hints there how to file a
- bug
-
- (1) google how to report a bug, get told to create an account, click through
3 pages and lots of text
- https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs
- https://help.launchpad.net/YourAccount/NewAccount
- https://login.launchpad.net/
-
- (2) wait for verification email
-
- (3) re-type password four 4 times in total
-
- (4) get redirected to the ubuntu-bug utility, which opens up the gnome image
viewer instead of doing anything useful
- (go try it on a fresh install:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs?action=AttachFile=get=unity-ubuntu-bug-pkgname.png)
-
- (5) figure out that ubuntu-bug is a command line utility
-
- (6) figure out which command line command corresponds to your
- application
-
- (7) figure out which package contains your desktop application:
- $ which gnucash
- $ grep -r /usr/bin/gnucash /var/lib/dpkg/info/
-
- (8) run it: $ubuntu-bug gnucash
-
- (9) Wait an unexpectedly long time at a white screen while firefox is
- figuring out openid
-
- (10) retype password, fifth time
-
- (11) Type in bug summary (rejoice, finally!)
-
- (12) Showing 30something (un)related bug reports probably cuts down on
- duplicates to sort through. However, this also sends the message: your
- experience gets invalidated and told that everybody else already knows
- how to work despite the bug. So you have to muster some resolve to
- disagree.
-
- (13) Scroll through a page of suggestions and click that you need a new
- bug. (Regarding the wording: Well, actually, I don't need a bug, I'm
- extending my goodwill to help you get rid of one.)
-
- (14) Type in the problem report in this very form here.
-
- Expected behavior: The desktop application should have a button to
- report bugs somewhere in the About menu, and it should take at most 3
- clicks get it done.
-
- Observed behavior: Lots of time spent on the above procedure. Do you
- have a way of knowing how many users give up?
-
- ProblemType: Bug
- DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1317860] Re: the phone should switch itself off before completely draining battery

2016-02-15 Thread Alejandro J. Cura

the phone should switch itself off at around ~5% remaining battery.

This is to preserve a little battery for use cases such as:

  * turn it back on once or twice for urgent short phone calls
  * prevent the battery from going into a state where it can't be charged any
more
  * have enough power to turn itself on again and trigger an alarm

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1445064] Re: Re-implement container crash forwarding

2016-02-15 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package apport - 2.20-0ubuntu2

---
apport (2.20-0ubuntu2) xenial; urgency=medium

  * Fix signal_crashes.test_modify_after_start test when running as
root.

apport (2.20-0ubuntu1) xenial; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release.
- Reimplement forwarding crashes into a container, via activating the new
apport-forward.socket in the container and handing over the core dump
fd. This is a much safer way than the original implementation with
nsexec. Thanks Stéphane Graber! (LP: #1445064)
  * Drop long-obsolete sysv-rc dependency.
  * Add python3-systemd recommendation to apport, to make crash report
generation work in containers.
  * Install new systemd units into apport package.

Title:
  Re-implement container crash forwarding

Status in apport package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
The container crash forwarding feature must be re-implemented to use a
  safe design.

  The current thought is:
   - Introduce a systemd unit and upstart job to have a socket activated apport
crash handler
   - When a crash comes from a container, have apport connect to the socket in
the crashed process' root, write the arguments it received to the socket.
   - The crash handler in the container will then run and close the socket when
it doesn't need the crashed process anymore.
   - The host crash handler then exits.

This means that we only rely on an accessible root directory for the
crashed process and the crash handler will be spawned by init inside
that container. This makes it safe for privileged and unprivileged
  containers.

As an extra security measure, rate limiting should be added so that we
can only have 10 in-flight crashes and that any crash taking more than
30s to be handled get cancelled (preventing host DoS).

About adding new scopes/load I already started Yesterday, adding
messages & calls ones.

the Today-to-Apps screen sliding bacomes
immediantly more dificulty for the device, with istantaneous
brake-release on the sliding action between windows/scopes. but no
unreversible locks or freezing, up to now.

I will keep you in touch.

Recently, overlay pages started being remembered after an OOM. But it
seems that it rembers them too well, because I'm pretty sure I've seen
it restore my last overlay that I had already closed!

That is, I use a webapp. Open overlay page. Close overlay page. Do
something else. Come back to OOM webapp. It restarts with my closed
  overlay open.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1545286] Re: [regression] ubuntu-pd instability

2016-02-15 Thread Michael Zanetti
Before the screen plug/unplug, QtMir produces those messages:

qtmir.sensor: Screen::onOrientationReadingChanged
qtmir.sensor: Screen::customEvent - new orientation 1 handled

They are gone after those steps to reproduce:

* Open the browser, rotate to landscape
* plug external screen
* unplug external screen
=> rotation is broken, the above messages won't appear any more.

Not sure what change - I know I tested ubuntu-pd, specifically
connecting/disconnecting hdmi and using OSK as part of the landing of
mir0.19.2, maybe it was a bit of a race with the qtmir/unity8
landings. Or possibly my image was older than i thought? seeing this
  on moako ubuntu-pd image 140

  stable phone overlay ppa says
  mir 0.19.2 published Feb 11
  qtmir Feb 9
  unity8 Feb 9

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1545681] [NEW] apport-gtk is shown as in process list

2016-02-15 Thread Lanoxx
Public bug reported:

Everytime I login a couple of crash report "System program problem
detected" dialogs popup. When I click on report problem the on one of
those dialog, it takes a short moment while information is being
gathered and then a second dialog pops up. If on that dialog I click
submit, then the dialog disappears and nothing happens.

When I then focus another f those crash report detected dialogs and try
to report another problem then the second dialog never opens and instead
just nothing happens. While investigating this issue I noticed that
`apport-gtk` is shown as defunct by ps:

Title:
  Add emblem to PreviewHeader widget

Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress

Bug description:
  Hi,

PreviewHeader should probably support emblem since it's designed to be
a card header but in the preview, afaik.

Right now, from the code, I see:

/*! This preview widget shows a header
   * The title comes in widgetData["title"]
   * The mascot comes in widgetData["mascot"]
   * The subtitle comes in widgetData["subtitle"]
   * The attributes comes in widgetData["attributes"]
   */

  Please, consider to add emblem.

Bug description:

Please consider taking this memleak fix from upstream. I've built the
package with it locally and confirmed that it fixes the leak in xfce4
-power-manager, which is mentioned in the upstream report. It also
fixes a similarly sized (hundreds of MB after a few days up time) leak
that I have observed in the NetworkManager service.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1545674] [NEW] Unable to disable isc-dhcp-server

2016-02-15 Thread rajivcj
Public bug reported:

I recently upgraded isc-dhcp-server to version 4.2.4-7ubuntu12.4 in
ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS .

The init script shows it is stopping the service,

root@## /etc/init.d/isc-dhcp-server stop
 * Stopping ISC DHCP server dhcpd

But the process still runs and is listening on udp port.

netstat -tulpn | grep dhcp
udp0 0 0.0.0.0:39801 0.0.0.0:*
20963/dhcpd
udp0 0 0.0.0.0:67 0.0.0.0:*
20963/dhcpd
udp6   0  0 :::3953 :::*

Even after stopping the service, this server provides ip to new hosts in
the network.

  At the moment I see
  1) the OSK won't popup on the n4-screen-as-trackpad
   2) whatever is focused app while connected to hdmi, if you hold the phone in
portrait mode and unplug - the app will not fill the whole screen or resize
properly

   3) specifically i saw the dash become totally weird (wrong size assets and
all jumbled) after #2 (only saw this once, haven't been able to repro)
  4) shell seemed to freeze then crash, i could interact with app...but lost
launcher and app switcher (also only saw once, but got the file)

one more note: i kind of wonder if this is related to rotation

  can't do UI prompting)

  - auth e-d-s in the settings

-> the new account should be active/listed in the indicator or gnome-
  calendar but is not

The issue is probably that e-d-s connect to the "account-created" signal on a
AgManager object and adds the account correctly, but at this point the
authentification/confirmation is not done yet so the account fails to active,
and there is no following callback after the authentification is done.

It seems that AgManager doesn't provide an appropriate signal that can
be used there so some work might be needed on the signon side

I could also use HUD to change my status in Empathy from Available to Busy
and vice-versa.

In Ubuntu 13.04 Beta HUD no longer finds the "Update Status" option when
typing "Update Status" or "Update"
Also writing "Available" "Away" or "Busy" no longer gives any results.

Other indicators however are accessible and I can use HUD to Suspend
my computer or to view Skype status or Ubuntu one indicator options.

  Repeating:
  1. Press alt key to start HUD
  2. Write "Update status" or "Available"

  What was expected:
HUD should have shown options ether from Gwibber to Update Status or Empathy
to change status to Available both available from the messaging indicator.

  What happened:
  HUD didn't find any results.

  Notes:
  I have Ubuntu 13.04 Beta 64bit upgraded from Ubuntu 12.10 64bits and I'm
using proprietary fglrx drivers.

Bug description:
The GUI is mainly intended for use by normal users. Using the proposed
repository may cause problems and is therefore not recommended for the
broad mayority of users. The normal user should not be able to
activate this repository by just a single click.

We need a proper warning, explaining what -proposed is, requiring
  confirmation by the user.

  For example:

"Proposed is intended for people willing to test updates before the
reach a wider audience. Are you sure you want to activate -proposed?"

  : "The “When
checking for updates, check for:” menu should contain options for “All
updates” (the default, -security + -updates + -backports), “Security
and recommended updates” (-security + -updates), and “Security updates
only” (-security) (fixing bug 887079). If your current update config
does not match one of those three options (for example, if you have
opted in to -proposed), there should be a fourth, checked, option:
“Custom”, and this option should persist until you close System
Settings. (UI for configuring -proposed should be provided by the
  Ubuntu Contributor Console.)"

  2. Move the pointer diagonally to click on the maximum volume button.

What often happens: The sound menu closes, and the menu next to it opens.
  Screencast:
Example in an informal usability test:

What should happen: The sound menu stays open.

One solution would be to make the volume slider vertical. But this
would not work for other menus (like the Bluetooth menu), and would
look awkward with other items in the menu.

Another solution would be to use a timer for closing the current menu
and opening a new one. This is what Windows does for submenus. But it
has the drawback of slowing down browsing, which would be worse for
  top-level menus than for submenus.

GTK already has a more sophisticated solution for submenus, similar to Mac
OS: a triangle based on the corners of the submenu and its parent item, in
which there is a much longer delay for closing the submenu and changing the
menu selection.

Discussion of the invisible triangle for submenus in GTK:

However, this feature in Gtk+ has been broken since July 2013.
   The code, once
fixed, should be applied to menu titles as well.

If I receive an indication (say, Ted just joined IM) and I open the

click on that menuitem, but if I'm too slow then the menuitem will be
  removed from the menu.

Seems like a minor usability issue to me. While the menu is open
should we really be modifying it?

Bug description:
  From irc:
08:28 < jdstrand> Laney: question for you-- just otoh, can you think of a
reason why dlna wouldn't work on xenial in rhythmbox any more when it has the
same upstream version as wily (and the Ubuntu delta didn't have any relevant
changes), grilo is the same as wily and grilo-plugins only has one irrelevant
change over wily?
08:29 < jdstrand> (it the dleyna code in grilo that handles this afaik)
08:30 < jdstrand> Laney: the dlna server just doesn't show up any more (but
daap still does)
  08:33 < jdstrand> I have both forked-daapd and minidlna exporting
08:33 < jdstrand> and rhythmbox used to see both on wily. on xenial, it only
sees daap

This may be a bug in grilo or grilo-plugins since, AIUI, it is the
dleyna code in grilo-plugins that handles this. It appears that grilo
relies on dleyna-server and dleyna-server isn't able to find the
server any more. I tried on a separate wily install and it wasn't able
  to find it.

Coming up with a reproducer was more difficult than I thought it would
  be.

  1. minidlna server setup
  $ sudo apt-get install minidlna

  Adjust /etc/minidlna.conf to have:
  media_dir=A,/path/to/some/music/files

I believe everything else can be left as defaults.

  2. rhythmbox setup
  $ sudo apt-get install grilo-plugins-0.2-extra rhythmbox-plugins dleyna-server

  stop and start rhythmbox

go into Tools/Plugins and check Grilo media browser

This was all I needed to do initially for it to start working. Now it
now longer works. Android devices and 'kodi' from Ubuntu can find and
use it fine. Using d-feet and going to 'com.intel.dleyna-server' and
into com.intel.dLeynaServer.Manager and looking at 'GetServers'
returns nothing. Looking at Rescan() triggers traffic (as seen with
tcpcump) with the server (ie, there are responses). Looking at an
strace of /usr/lib/dleyna-server/dleyna-server-service shows it got a
response from the minidlna server. I guess the problem is in dleyna-
server. There is a new upstream version (0.5), but it is newer than
  what is in Debian.

Apparently minidlna is installed in Netgear devices and other places
  and is quite popular.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1540477] Re: [Scopes] Playlist playback should also work with card previews

> and there’re 10 songs in this album, the playback order
> will be: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 1, 2, 3.

Why like that? It feels really weird to be unable to go back to the
first song using the |< button in the sound indicator. If we want the
whole album to play, maybe we just need to make it repeat instead of
wrapping the playlist like that?

Title:
[Scopes] Playlist playback should also work with card previews

Status in Ubuntu UX:
  New
Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress

Bug description:
Currently, users can only play one song at a time from a music album
card preview and they cannot skip next/previous song from sound
indicator panel because these songs are not part of a playlist.

The desired behaviour is described below:

When user starts playing a song from an album in scopes card preview,
this will automatically create a playlist of that album enabling the
user to continue listening to the list of songs in the background.
Also, user can control this playlist from the media integration with
indicators (pause, skip next/previous song). If the user leaves the
card preview screen and navigate to other parts of the scope UI, we
will continue to play that 'playlist' in the background, even if the
new card results in the main view do not match the contents of that
  playlist.

All the songs of an album are to be added automatically to a playlist
and will be played in the original track order (assuming that the
sequential numbering is in the track number tags) . For example, if
the user starts by playing song number 4 and there’re 10 songs in this
  album, the playback order will be: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 1, 2, 3.

This behaviour applies to locally stored media (my music) as well as
online content coming from our partners (i.e: 7Digital albums).

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1539446] Re: Today scope hangs-on after OTA9 update

2016-02-15 Thread Albert Astals Cid
I agree the "today to Telegram bug" is a different thing, so you should
not have mentioned it here, otherwise you are just making it harder to
fix the original bug you reported, mixing things that don't have
anything to do with eachother is the perfect recipe to not getting
anything fixed.

So please let's go back to "Today scope bug" itself only in this
launchpad bug.

You say you can not reproduce it anymore if you only have the Today
scope as a favorite scope, is that right?

If so, can you add scopes one by one and see when you start reproducing
it again?

Restart unity8-dash: now it displays rotated.

I would expect dash toolkit to honor the edited state of a photo and
  display it rotated as appropriate.

  Note:
Gallery app uses a URI that starts with image://thumbnailer/absPathToPhoto to
display photos with correct rotation. However, scopes require the URI starts
with photo://. Without that, the Open button on the preview does not open the
photo in gallery.

Public bug reported:

This is a reminder that for the Ubuntu archive version of qtbase, the

Hi Raymond,

I Reinstalled ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS the latest
amd still same issue In Sound Settings
Input part: Analog Built-in Input detected but no signal of a sound seen

in alsamixer , I just see Input Source and Mic Boos, I can't see any Line or
Mic there.

When I pug the analog jack from the Tc to front mic and a speaker in
front headphones

I can hear the sound from the TV but with noise.

these are the inputs from pcm and sound cards

Does this means that I should capture voice on alsa channel:

but when I run vlc alsa://plughw:0,0,1

Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'alsa://plughw:0,0,1'. Check the log for details.

Any help would be appreciated.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1506015] Re: Network errors after changing between mobile data connection and wifi

2016-02-15 Thread Timo Jyrinki
The comment #13 sounds like QNAM related so this bug can be marked as
fixed. Let's keep the bug #1533508 there for what's probably lower level
connectivity related problems.

  STEPS TO REPRO:
  1. Go to Ubuntu Store
  2. Look for some Ubuntu core apps( terminal, File manager for example )

  Actual Result:
Cannot find no app in Ubuntu store
  Expected Result:
Every search should show an apps list as a result

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1470700] Re: QNetworkAccessManager hangs when in flight mode

  - Update rc-proposed (vivid) to citrain device-upgrade 32
  - Optional: If you want to test using the 'generic' bearer plugin instead of
the Network Manager bearer, either do not upgrade ubuntu-touch-session or move
away the file /etc/profile.d/qt_networkmanager_bearer.sh
  - Reboot

  ---

When my phone is in flight mode, HTTP requests made using
QNetworkAccessManager seem to hang rather than erroring out
  immediately.

From my tests, it looks like the HTTP request is blocked until the
flight mode is disabled and a network connection is reestablished.
This is contrary to the documentation, which states:

"""If the network is not accessible the network access manager will
not process any new network requests, all such requests will fail with
an error. Requests with URLs with the file:// scheme will still be
  processed."""

  http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qnetworkaccessmanager.html#networkAccessible-
  prop

By running strace on my test program, it doesn't even look like it
attempts to open a TCP connection when blocked in flight mode.
