[Touch-packages] [Bug 1227824] Re: please add trust-store integration to e-d-s for calendar API
This bug is quite old and I think in need of urgency. There are apps that would like to use the calendar API like Alarm and Reminders but cannot because of this bug (me included :) ). Also, the documentation in the developer site needs to indicate that developers cannot freely use them as of the moment. The Alarm and AlarmModel have been listed in the components and there's no mention that the calendar policy is needed and that it is still in "reserved" status. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1227824 Title: please add trust-store integration to e-d-s for calendar API Status in apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in evolution-data-server package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu source package in Saucy: Won't Fix Status in evolution-data-server source package in Saucy: Won't Fix Status in apparmor-easyprof-ubuntu source package in Trusty: Won't Fix Status in evolution-data-server source package in Trusty: Won't Fix Bug description: Currently the 'calendar' policy group is reserved because giving access to the EDS's DBus API allows applications to access all calendars without user consent. If calendars are going to be made generally available to untrusted appstore apps, EDS needs to be modified to use trust-store, like location-service does. Integrating with trust-store means that when an app tries to connect to the EDS over DBus, EDS will contact trust-store, the trust-store will prompt the user ("Foo wants to access your calendars. Is this ok? Yes|No"), optionally cache the result and return the result to EDS. In this manner the user is given a contextual prompt at the time of access by the app. Using caching this decision can be remembered the next time. If caching is used, there should be a method to change the decision in settings. Targeting to T-Series for now, since the trust-store is not in a reusable form yet. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1609616] [NEW] Alarm/AlarmModel should be confined per app
Public bug reported: Currently, when you use the AlarmModel and calendar apparmor policy, your app can view, add, edit and delete alarms even those that were created by other apps like for example the core clock app. I think it would be better if the model only gives your app the permission to view, edit and delete alarms created by your app. Then when the alarm is triggered, the appropriate app will open and not alwayd the clock app. This means that alarms in the AlarmModel can be distinguished by app and bot as whole. ** Affects: ubuntu-ui-toolkit (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-ui-toolkit in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1609616 Title: Alarm/AlarmModel should be confined per app Status in ubuntu-ui-toolkit package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Currently, when you use the AlarmModel and calendar apparmor policy, your app can view, add, edit and delete alarms even those that were created by other apps like for example the core clock app. I think it would be better if the model only gives your app the permission to view, edit and delete alarms created by your app. Then when the alarm is triggered, the appropriate app will open and not alwayd the clock app. This means that alarms in the AlarmModel can be distinguished by app and bot as whole. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1578519] [NEW] Scrollbar and Adaptive Layout divider conflicts
Public bug reported: Steps to reproduce: 1. Use adaptive layout and assign a Listview with Scrollbars in the first column (primary page) 2. Try to move the scroll using the mouse cursor. Expected Results: The scrollbar should be easy to grab and move smoothly. Actual Results: Large part of the scrollbar triggers the column resize insted of moving the scroll. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1579751] [NEW] [Wishlist] Option to make BottomEdge Non-Modal
Public bug reported: I think the bottomedge has great potential and it will be good if we can use it in non-modal way. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1566172] Re: [SUGGESTION] Use the space bar for moving the text cursor
One of the versions I did is triggered by immediate swiping. So far it doesn't interfere with its original function (double tap for period and space). It has sensitivity problems though. Maybe that could be considered as an option. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-keyboard in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1566172 Title: [SUGGESTION] Use the space bar for moving the text cursor Status in Ubuntu UX: New Status in ubuntu-keyboard package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I have an idea which maybe considered to be implemented. What if we use the space bar for moving the text cursor horizontally or even vertically. Currently, moving the cursor is quite hard and inaccurate. Space bar is quite big and makes it a good place to swipe to move the cursor. With this approach, we're not using more space and instead use a big part of the keyboard that is only there mostly for inserting spaces. The sensitivity is critical though because you don't want unintended movement of the cursor but I think it's very much doable.
