And they seem to be shooting Castle on the same backlot that was used for
Mannix. Half the time I expect Castle to call his trusty girl Friday Peggy
on his car phone.

Indeed, the scene with the lawyer buying the hot dog from the street
vendor was glaring in this respect.

There have always been a lot of shows that take place in New York but
actually shoot in LA, and usually it doesn't bother me. But whenever I
watch "Castle," I never believe I'm in New York for an instant. Whenever
the investigation leads them to visit an office building (usually once or

If there's a science festival sponsored in part by Lockheed anywhere near you,
there's a reasonable chance some NCIS:LA cast may appear.  The company provides
promotional consideration.  Ms. Ruah has been to DC twice for the Science and
Engineering Festival, with different co-workers from her show each time.

No, Kevin, you wouldn't be disappointed.

"Castle" shot an episode at my former place of employment, redressing it to
appear to be some sort of college producing cheesy "Girls Gone Wild"
videos.

Place didn't need a lot of redressing.

Although I have the photos to prove that "Parks and Recreation," for one,
regularly does location shooting in L.A., given that I live across the street

It is worth noting, as the linked article does, that overall location
shooting and commerical and film production increased in LA last year
(including this: On-location movie production increased 3.7 percent for the
year (5,892 PPD in 2012 vs. 5,682 PPD in 2011. This was the category’s best
year since 2008, the year before feature production declined precipitously
and state lawmakers enacted the California Film & Television Tax Credit
Program).

They also note that some of the drop in location shooting for TV dramas was
due to increased use of studios and backlots in southern California
faciliites. I would like to see how many of the hour long dramas on network
television are produced in LA.

All I can attest to is that the two NCIS dramas seemingly have free reign
over the Greater Los Angeles Area, guessing because nobody else is using
the city as a backdrop. When I was still living and working there, I don't
think a week went by when I didn't see them out on the streets. Mostly saw
LL Cool J's Dodge Challenger in Glendale, Eagle Rock, Highland Park. Wish I
saw more of Daniela Ruah.
