Hi,

you may have the buffer value in mind, it was 1000 before and now
configurable. It's the value of prerendered page nodes.

This was at least what I remembered from talking to Stefan (who

However, I was not able to find some hard-coded limit anywhere now. I

ICAN itself is using non latin characters in URLs

http://blog.icann.org/2010/08/Замечания-генерального-директора-о-п/

So al talk about standards only in latin characters seem to be obsolete I
guess and it would be time to start using non latin characters in URLS.
Like said before in cooluri absolute no problem - but we can't get it a
nonlatin url runing in Realurl

Hi Dmitry

it is my problem too as speaking is not the problem but writing. I have no
idea how to write in Thai even my keyboard has Thai Letters but I could ask
some of our devs if they could help. What exactly you would need to know.

Currently we have the problem with a Japanese, English, German Realurl .
English and German is working but Japanese shows only slashes.

When we use cooluri we can show all Asian languages in the URL. Even it is
breaking international standards, people here like it as they know how to
write in Thai but not so good how to write in english.

http://www.isanthai.com/category/ทำนาย-ดูดวง/ดูดวง-รายวัน

http://www.idndemystified.com/tag/コム

etc.

to make the whole Url in latin letters might be quite difficult. Another
solution would be some kind of work around. If language uses non latin
characters realurl should use the default URL + language identifier i.e.
th/about etc.

This is partly possible if you enter a latin speaking URL path segment but
leave the title like is.

As russian or greek, hebrew, arab might have same problem one question, How
are they doing and handling it?

Re: [TYPO3-english] REALURL - No hashcode/parameters passed -- Exclude Page from url

2011-03-24 Thread Jan Bednarik

Hi all, especially Dmitry,

there are loads of things to reply, so let me do that in this one post.

Believe me, I didn't want to hijack the threat, this was the first time
I did so (as far as I remember, maybe some search would reveal
opposite). Anyway, I was hesitating, aware that it's not fair. But I
found that Tobias is quite desperate to do that and RealUrl cannot give
him what he wants. So I've just pointed out that CoolURI can.

If you find someone requesting something that CoolURI cannot do and
RealUrl can, I'd be happy if you'd point that out and it would give me
some things to think about and to improve.

I was aware that the code was messy. I've started with some refactoring,
but it's a long run. Unfortuntely, it's not that easy to refactor PHP in
open source tools (Eclipse). I didn't find stuff like "Extract method",
"Introduce interface" etc. to which I'm used to from Java.

Security issues were fixed a long time ago. There's no need to be bothered.

I really didn't want to start a flamewar. I'm truly sorry for that.

Yes. But due to messy code we were not able to audit the rest of the
extension for other issues. It is too difficult to understand what it does,
even for experienced TYPO3/PHP developers. I remember asking Jan to
reformat the code according to TYPO3 CGL and write comments but he said he
has no time.

May be the code changed since those time, I do not know. Never used CoolURI

Re: [TYPO3-english] REALURL - No hashcode/parameters passed -- Exclude Page from url

2011-03-24 Thread Andreas Becker
There is absolutely no war existing and only good practice is realty as it
is for the benefit of the customers. "Inspire to share". I still remember
the day I started to promote cooluri as on this day no autoconfig was
existing in realurl and many people beside me had problems to set it up.
This was one of the reasons actually why cooluri made its way. Months later
the autoconfig for realurl has been released, a great feature which was very
good for standard sites. Now we had a very easy to write XML file with a
great Backend management and we had autoconfiguration - ok with a bit
difficult to modify afterwards configuration files if use serialized.
Unfortunately it is still not possible to combine the power of both
extensions until now. It really depends on the situation what to use is good
or not as good.

People often look hours and days and more to solve a problem while with a
simple change to another extension this problem would have been solved quite
easily or even won't exist. This is why we use both extensions according the
specific needs of the customers. In a TYPOgento site i.e. we use realurl as
you only need to install it and it is working as long as you have only one
language which is non asian. In another we use cooluri because we needed the
asian languages get running which we achieved much easier in cooluri, also
the customer wanted to have all the ending parts striped away, which seems
now to be possible with the version of realurl in svn too.

Searching for problems and reinventing wheels costs often lots of time,
while a working solution - but perhaps with another extension - is already
existing.

Security issues have been in many extensions - important is that they get
fixed fast and those sql injections in cooluri are fixed since 2009.
http://secunia.com/advisories/search/?search=typo3+cooluri
Since than the cooluri code has been improved also a lot and new features
have been implemented!

The same realurl has been improved a lot. Meanwhile the autocnfiguration
seems to recognize also language settings (but unfortunaetely not Japanese
or Thai).

The main problem with all those extensions which try to "inspire to share"
each other, often just achieve the opposite. They cost a whole lot of time
to setup, configure or integrate, searching in mailinglists, manage while if
they simply would take both of two worlds together in one solid concept than
everyone would have a solution which probably would work just out of the box
with no further configuration and would be part of the TYPO3 core with a
small checkbox asking you

... do you want nice looking URLs? yes/no

Perhaps Dmitry and Jan should get together with some other interested
URL-Coiffeurs and get THE TYPO3 Clean URL solution up and running for TYPO3
4.6.

and afterwards we would have a solution with Click and all your URLs and of
all TYPO3 extensions would instantly produce nice looking URLs.

Unfortunately we seem to be still far away from this nice vision, but we
should never give up hope - or :-)

[TYPO3-english] Getting 'title' for usergroup ID's

2011-03-24 Thread Andre Cheung Tam He

Hi,

I'm using the following method to get the usergroups for a logged in
visitor:

$usergroup = $GLOBALS["TSFE"]->fe_user->user["usergroup"];

This gives back a string with usergroup ID's:
10,16,17,179

Is there a method to convert these ID's to the 'title' in the fe_groups
table?

Or do I have to write my own function which queries the table?

Kind regards,

André

Re: [TYPO3-english] problem with External Data Import ext

2011-03-24 Thread François Suter

Hi Nicola,

*These fields are not properly updated in database:
(first_name,last_name,name) Probably value mismatch with fieldtype.*

The matter is that with> 20.000 record is kinda impossible to get which
record contains the offending data, is there a way to add or see the record
id in the reports or in the devlog.

Unfortunately TCEmain logging is not very helpful when you manipulate a
lot of records at a time, which happens often with External Import.

What you can do, though, is to looks directly at table sys_log using a
MySQL client and look for records with that message. Normally the
columns "tablename" and "recpid" should be filled, so you should be able
to find the erroneous records.

I can add that the error that you see is due to the fact that the data
has not been stored properly in the database. The most common source of
error for simple text fields is bad encoding or data that is longer than
the field's size.

Never used CoolURI
again. I mostly rely on RealURL autoconfiguration. Usually it works out of
the box.

I am currently testing an experimental option that would help with this
problem. So if you have vars a, b, c and d and all of them can be optional,
you will be able to specify this in the config. If segments are last in the

Most people use the rather flexible postVarSets to include query
parameters in the URL. These have the advantage that they can be defined
for an entire site because they use key-value pairs. The disadvantage is
that it adds two segments to the URL for each query parameters
fixedPostVars add only one segment to the URL, but have a fixed
position. If you don't use some of them it will give you empty segments
in the URL.
However, you can define fixedPostVars for a single page ID. This reduces
the number of segments, but it makes the configuration more complex and
time consuming.

Re: [TYPO3-english] REALURL - No hashcode/parameters passed -- Exclude Page from url

2011-03-24 Thread Tobias Dörner
Hi Dimtry, Jan and Andreas,
about make peace not war ^^

First of all I know this special feature of cooluri (Jan you remember me
[bug solution]?).
The main question for me is which of those two extensions have the most
variability to configure related to usability and both related to effort,
needed time to configure and server load.
In an old project when I worked with cooluri the first time it was easy to
handle but the problem was an extension which mysql queries were written
very complicated.
And with cooluri the System (High Server load values) slowed down to an
unacceptable value, sometimes about 2 minutes for one search request(in that
case no_cache=1). Without cooluri it only took a fifth of time. I think the
main reason for this problems were the complicated mysql query in relation
to the database table entries of the extension the amount of entries and the
"not so fast" Server. We could speed up a little bit by tuning the extension
and building a further "relation" table.

Now I have the problem that I am working on a project which has not as much
entries as the old project had. But it could reach the amount of entries of
it. And therefore I tried using realurl.
But it is necessary to exclude a page segment in that way I described
because the url will become very long. Too long (six to seven segments)
http://localhost/article/la-la-la.htm
http://localhost/news/article/la-la-la.htm
That’s why I thought the configuration of arrays in realurl_conf.php would
be more effective.

Regards
Tobi

Your information is misleading. RealURL also has a checkbox like that.

The question is not about exclusion, it is about exclusion of the last
segment. For example, you have a path: http://localhost/news/. Suppose that
shows a news list. Also you have a postVar named "article". The orignal
question was: is it possible to have http://localhost/article/la-la-la.htm
instead of http://localhost/news/article/la-la-la.htm. If you answer "yes,
CoolURI can do that", it would mean CoolURI has a better implementation of
this feature. If you do not answer or answer "No", it means your reply was
only to advertise CoolURI in the RealURL thread.

Also, since you are the author of the CoolURI, hijacking the thread like
this does not look good. But since you do that, I am going to advertise
RealURL each time when people ask about CoolURI. That would be fair.

As you've already confirmed (so it is mainly for others), it can be done
if it is really that important to have such URLs:

- page "news" : list view
- page "article" : single view (same level as "news")
- fixedPostVar for the page ID of 'article' for the title of the news item

I personally use realUrl most of the time, because there are more
extensions which contain realUrl setup and I have used it more often.
I have used coolUri once (quite long ago) when a client wanted a kind of

Not sure what you mean but you do not have to care about it with RealURL.
You just exclude segments by checking the box.

Hm, but "you have to take care of", etc. I did not understand what exactly

If CoolURI could skip the last segment in the easy way, it is good. RealURL
requries the last page segment to stay but will exclude it if it is in the

thx kay for your answer!

but where can I define the doktype-id (e.g. 45)

Thx for answer,

t3lib_SpriteManager::addTcaTypeIcon('pages', 'contains-folderhead',
'../fileadmin/pagetypes/text_heading_3.png');
$TCA['pages']['columns']['module']['config']['items'][] =

And there's also a way to add/define a doktype via TCEFORM:
TCEFORM.pages.doktype {
addItems.44 = Sponsor Image
addItems.45 = LLL:EXT:lang/locallang_tca.php:heading
}

But I want to add a new doktype via ext_tables.php in my extension, that
I can define a fix icon for new doktype.

Now I've only one thing that is missing! This is my code, I hope this is
correct cgl and current api... (ext_tables.php in my own extension:)

t3lib_div::loadTCA('pages');

$pageItems = &$TCA['pages']['columns']['doktype']['config']['items'];

// DokType 54
$PAGES_TYPES['54'] = array(
'type' => '',
'allowedTables' => '',
'onlyAllowedTables' => '0'
);
t3lib_SpriteManager::addTcaTypeIcon('pages', '54',
'../fileadmin/pagetypes/image.png');
array_push($pageItems, array('Sponsor Image (new)', '54'));

The only one thing which is missing:

In the SELECT where you can choose a DokType: Icon doesn't appear.
Is it possible to fix that also?

thx in advance

Okay...

here's my solution:

t3lib_div::loadTCA('pages');

$pageItems = &$TCA['pages']['columns']['doktype']['config']['items'];

// DokType 44
$PAGES_TYPES['44'] = array(
'type' => '',
'allowedTables' => '',
'onlyAllowedTables' => '0'
);
t3lib_SpriteManager::addTcaTypeIcon('pages', '44',
'../fileadmin/pagetypes/image.png');
array_push($pageItems, array('Sponsor Image', '44',
'../fileadmin/pagetypes/image.png'));

Is that actually correct in TYPO3 4.5?

Oops. Another vital piece of information was of course that I use

config.typolinkCheckRootline = 1

in the "country level" templates.

[TYPO3-english] ExtJS Problem IE9

2011-03-24 Thread Rainer Fischinger
Hi!

I do have a problem with mit ExtJS ComboBox in Internet Explorer 9! The
dropdown-list gets a inline style with "height:0px", so it's never shown! Does
anybody knows how to solve this problem or does anybody knows if ExtJS 3.3.2 is
available in Typo3 soon?!?

I have found a workaround which works for now. However, it comes with 2
trade-offs. What I did is set the TS templates on the "country level"
pages all to be root level templates. The small price to pay for that
is that I have to re-include my TV templates on the country level root
pages now. The much bigger trade-off (and the reason why I still
consider this makeshift) is that I get ugly URLs for the pages external
to the local branch now. In other words, if I link to
http://www.example.com/fr (id=4) from http://www.example.co.uk, I get a
link http://www.example.com/?id=4 now instad of
http://www/example.com/fr . I'm using CoolURI for path generation. Can
this be fixed somehow?

Re: [TYPO3-english] adding new pagetype (icon fails)

2011-03-24 Thread Josef Florian Glatz

Hello Josef,

this way adds a new module icon (like the one for tt_news).
I don't know if it was exactly what you wanted.
The ^^ sings define the name of the module and how the icon is bound to
which value.

If you wanna add an additional PageType beside standard, shortcut,
sysfolder, you may also load the tca and than add new items.

Take a look into the following file around line 717, there is should be
anything related to pagetypes ;)

typo3/sysext/cms/tbl_cms.php

t3lib_extMgm::extRelPath($_EXTKEY).'ext_icon.gif');
 }

thx kay for your answer!

but where can I define the doktype-id (e.g. 45)

Thx for answer,

for adding icons to pages I use

t3lib_SpriteManager::addTcaTypeIcon('pages', 'contains-folderhead',
'../fileadmin/pagetypes/text_heading_3.png');
$TCA['pages']['columns']['module']['config']['items'][] =
array('Headline', 'folderhead',
'../fileadmin/pagetypes/text_heading_3.png');

And there's also a way to add/define a doktype via TCEFORM:
TCEFORM.pages.doktype {
  addItems.44 = Sponsor Image
  addItems.45 = LLL:EXT:lang/locallang_tca.php:heading
}

But I want to add a new doktype via ext_tables.php in my extension, that
I can define a fix icon for new doktype.

Now I've only one thing that is missing! This is my code, I hope this is
correct cgl and current api... (ext_tables.php in my own extension:)

t3lib_div::loadTCA('pages');

$pageItems = &$TCA['pages']['columns']['doktype']['config']['items'];

// DokType 54
$PAGES_TYPES['54'] = array(
'type' => '',
'allowedTables' => '',
'onlyAllowedTables' => '0'
);
t3lib_SpriteManager::addTcaTypeIcon('pages', '54',
'../fileadmin/pagetypes/image.png');

array_push($pageItems, array('Sponsor Image (new)', '54'));

The only one thing which is missing:

In the SELECT where you can choose a DokType: Icon doesn't appear.
Is it possible to fix that also?

thx in advance
