Re: [Ubnt_users] Ubiquiti LBE-5AC

2019-07-30 Thread James Craig via Ubnt_users
Rick,

If you SSH into the unit, could you share the output of:

cat /etc/board.info | grep fcc

What firmware are you using?

Both LBE-5AC-23 and LBE-5AC-GEN2 (updated version) have certification for
UNII-1/2/3, but the non-GEN2 versions would require an unlock code to
enable the Revised UNII Grant.

Hi Guys,

The -300 and the -400 are interchangeable between the PBEM5-300/400,
PBE5AC-300/400 and PBE5AC-GEN2 (400). Same for the -ISO variants.

Re: [Ubnt_users] Well this is new

2018-07-31 Thread James Craig via Ubnt_users
Hi Forbes,

Are you seeing this on AC APs only?

What TDD Framing option are you using on the AC APs?

Please try to grab the Support Info file from one of these CPEs (and AP)
and send to me offlist (ja...@ubnt.com)

The 6.1.8 beta branch has some stability improvements that could help here,
but that wouldn't explain AC stations seeing the same symptoms.

A web interface for configuration was also added a few versions ago, so

Re: [Ubnt_users] cannot find interference source

One option to help narrow things down would be to enable the PingWatchdog
(+ Generate .sup file) and set it to ping an internal IP you have control
over. If you starting seeing the same thing, you can take down the target
IP long enough for it to trigger the PWD.

If you have a current .sup file handy, please feel free to forward to me
offline and I'll take a look for any hints (Please include the AP .sup as
well)

Have a client that is difficult to login to at times, service for them
seems to quit. Has good signal strength. Have changed the radio to
different models and frequencies and connected to different towers. It's
like some kind of barrier at random times is erected between house and
tower. Site survey and spectrum analyzer never show anything remotely
definitive as to possible cause or source of trouble. Could problem be
noisy electrical transformers or well pumps and what low-cost equipment
would I need to find it?

Re: [Ubnt_users] GPS sync with M radios

2017-10-03 Thread James Craig via Ubnt_users
Hi Guys,

We have seen a few reports of high CPU/Mem usage when UNMS is enabled on
8.4/6.1. We're planning to release a hotfix this week. If you are seeing
high mem/CPU after upgrading and are using UNMS, please
temporarily disable/unmanage.

Mixed mode GPS Sync/Fixed frame currently supports XW clients(6.1+)
connected to AC APs (8.4+). XM Station support (Mixed-Mode FF/GPS) is
planned for this month.

Re: [Ubnt_users] aircontrol won't find 6.0.4 devices

2017-08-31 Thread James Craig via Ubnt_users
Hi Guys,

This is most likely due to this change in discovery in 6.0.4. We're adding
CGN address space in 6.0.7, so moving forward, you will only be able to
discover from RFC1918 and RFC6598 address. IP range scanning should still
work.

- Fix: Limit discovery response to queries from private subnets or
multicast/broadcast

Re: [Ubnt_users] UNII frequencies in Rocket 5AC-PTP

Hi Eduardo,

After activating the updated UNII rules, channels near the edge of each
band will have reduced max TX output to comply with increased OOBE
restrictions. You should have the option on to deactivate the updated UNII
rules via the same code.

If you have any trouble, please feel free to send me an email off list

Thanks,
James

Hi Eduardo,

The Rocket5AC-PTP and -PTMP models have hardware filters that limit
operation to the upper bands. The Rocket5AC-PRISM/Rocket5AC-PRISM Gen2 and
Rocket5AC-Lite all have full band support.

Hope that helps.

Hi Guys,

We implemented FW signing to improve device security as a result of THIS

report (and a few others). This malware would masquerade as 6.0.3, but in
reality, it was based on the 5.5.2 SDK. Regulatory requirements are
another factor, but device security is the major driving factor here.

Re: [Ubnt_users] DFS on AC

Hi Alex,

You should have the option to limit the channel list under Wireless ->
Control Frequency List.

We are working on some features to help reduce false hits further and
improve channel selection on a hit.

Hi Guys,

airMAX radios should only jump to another channel if a RADAR hit is
detected. I would suggest running a Frequency list when operating in DFS
bands.

That being said, this is most like related to a bug fixed in airOS8beta16.
