[Ubnt_users] Edgepoint 16 and Prisms
Ports 1-4 of a Edgepoint 16 are either 24vdc 4 wire or 48vdc 4 wire power. So I assume that ports 1-4 cannot be used to power a Rocket Prism AC which is 24vdc 2 wire plus return on 7/8 wires? Re: [Ubnt_users] Edgepoint 16 power handling
Dont have that answer, but did find out if under power E16 you will have big issues. We had a voltage drop in the run and low output 46VDC. All 48VDC outputs worked fine, but ALL 24VDC ports would come and go! Our solution was this: TSP-360-148 Traco PS, combined with Battery switch TSP-BCM48 for backup, added PCS-C40 120VAC breakers for protection, and on 48VDC output at battery switch we added an adjustable stepup regulator to get 56.5 VOLTS to send up tower. Small footpring, DIN RAIL Solution. Fits in a NEMA 18x18 with lots of air space available. Batteries in separate box of course. On Tue, Nov 29, 2016 at 10:10 PM, Shawn C. I have decided that one of the AC ports has a bad wire (not likely, pretested), bad UBNT surge (likely) or bad radio or port. As soons as I turn port on, all 24VDC ports go low voltage. We have had an occasional issue with UBNT surges when put on Gig VDC radios. I guess another tower climb is in order. Actually, the radios were not available about 30 minutes after the status tab said they were down. Since then, what I see is that the voltage looks strange for the 24vdc ports being used (5-8) The voltage is showing 7-13 volts and current draw jumping from 50-500+-.
