ভাই ইব্রাহিম হুসাইন আপনি অস্থির হবেন না। আপনার কুবুন্টু ইন্সটল করার সময় ওটা নিজের গ্রুব লোডার কে উবুন্টুর গ্রুব লোডারের জায়গায় বসিয়ে সেখান থেকে বুট করছিল। কেননা দুটো উবুন্টু কিংবা লিনাক্স প্রজাতিকে একই সিস্টেমে লোড করলে সর্বশেষেটার বুট লোডার গ্রান্টেড হয়। ফলে আপনি যখন কুবুন্ট ড্রাইভটা ফরম্যাট দিলেন গ্রুব লোডার টা হারিয়ে গেলো। তবে আপনার উবুন্টু সিস্টেম কিংবা ওটার ডাটা কোনটাই হারায়নি আশা করি। এবার একটু মাথা ঠান্ডা করে নিচের দেয়া নির্দেশনাগুলো মেনে চলুন। আশাকরি আপনি আবারো আপনার উবুন্টু সিস্টেমকে ফিরে পাবেন। কোন কাজ শুরু করার আগে পুরো মেইলটা ভালোভাবে পড়ে নিন। কোথাও বুঝে উঠতে না পারলে পোষ্ট দিযে জানান। চাইলে নির্দ্ধিয়ায় আমার মুঠোফোনে যোগাযোগ করতেও পারেন। কাস্টম যে ডিভিডিটা আপনি আড্ডায় কিনেছেন সেটা দিয়ে বুট করুন। টার্মিনাল ওপেন করে নিচের কমান্ডগুলো একটার পর একটা নির্দেশনা অনুযায়ি দিন। sudo fdisk -l এর ফলে আপনার হার্ডডিস্কের যে পার্টিশানে বর্তমানে উবুন্টু ইন্সটলড আছে তা দেখাবে। খেয়াল করে দেখুন একটা তালিকা দেখাচ্ছে এবং ঐ তালিকায় : /dev/sdaX Linux দেখাচ্ছে, এখানে X এর মান 1-9 যে কোন সংখ্যা হতে পারে। এই X এর মানটাই খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। এবার X এর মানটা যথাযথ বসিয়ে নিয়ে টার্মিনালে নিচের কমান্ডগুলো দিন। sudo mkdir /media/sdaX sudo mount /dev/sdaX /media/sdaX এবার উবুন্টুর বুট লোডার টা ফিরিয়ে আনতে কমান্ড দিন [এবারো ঐ X এর মানটা যথাযথ বসিয়ে দিয়েন।]: sudo grub-install --root-directory=/media/sdaX /dev/sda পিসিটাকে রিস্টার্ট করতে কমান্ড দিয়ে দেখুন। sudo reboot now আপনার উবুন্টু আবারো আপনার সামনে সমহিমায় হাজির হবেই ইনশাল্লাহ। রিং +8801671411437 -- Ubuntu Bangladesh | http://ubuntu-bd.org Bangla Linux Forum | http://forum.linux.org.bd https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bd

আপনি gparted সফটা কাস্টম ডিভিডির systemadministrationgparted থেকে চালিয়ে দেখুন আপনার পার্টিশান গুলোর কোনটাতে কতটুকু খালি আর কোনটাতে উবুন্টু ইন্সটলড আছে। ওখানে নামসহ (যেমনঃ /dev/sda1, /dev/sda5 ) তথ্যগুলো পাবেন। একটু মনোযোগ সহকারে দেখুন। আর আপনার ওই দুটো পার্টিশানের কোনটা আপনি ফরম্যাট করছেন তা যদি এখন আপনি বুঝতে পারেন তবে, অপরটা মানে যেটায় উবুন্টু সেটাপ দেয়া আছে সেটার ড্রাইভ নম্বর এখান থেকেই সংগ্রহ করে নিয়ে, পূর্বের নির্দেশনাযুক্ত মেইলের নির্দেশগুলো, পরপর মেনে কাজ করুন। আশা করি সমাধান হবে। বেশি ঝামেলা মনে হলে সরাসরিও যোগাযোগ করার অপশনটা তো আপনার হাতে থাকছেই। রিং +8801671411437 -- Ubuntu Bangladesh | http://ubuntu-bd.org Bangla Linux Forum | http://forum.linux.org.bd https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bd

[Ubuntu-BD] Help needed to blutooth net connection
Thanx! It worked. I have just installed mint 9. All things are fine, except net connection. I tried to connect my n72 with a usb blutooth device to get net connection. Wizard finds my phone, i can connect it to pc but what next? How to connect to internet? No option in network or blutooth icon in task bar. Please help me to connect net via blutooth? You need to install blueman bluetooth manager. You will found it at software center. Search for it and install it. After installing it, open the bluetooth manager, pair it. Then from the setup option, connect it to Dialup Networking(DUN). Now connect it from the network manager. ভাই প্রীতিময় দাস আপনাকে অনেক অনেক ধন্যবাদ। আমি রিং, এই ডিস্ট্রোটা সংকলিত করেছি। গতকাল ভোর ৬টায় আমি এই ডিভিডিগুলোকে ম্যানুফাকচার করি। তবে তখন পর্য্যন্ত ঘুনাক্ষরেও মনে হয়নি যে, আপনার মতো যাঁরা ব্লুটুথ ডিভাইস ব্যবহারকারী আছেন তাঁরা ইন্টারনেট কানেকশান করতে গিয়ে বিপদে পড়তে পারেন। তাহলে ব্লুম্যান টাকে যোগ করেই আইএসওটা বানাতাম। আমি আসলে এই দরিদ্র দেশের চিপায় চাপায় থাকা হতদরিদ্র বুন্টু আর মিন্টুদের লক্ষ্য করে এই আইএসওটাকে বানিয়েছি। যাঁরা কিনা কোনমতে একটা পিসি আর আমার সংকলিত এই ডিভিডিগুলো কে ব্যবহার করে কোনরকম ইন্টারনেট ডাউনলোডের ঝামেলা এড়িয়ে নিজেদের কাজ চালিয়ে নিতে পারেন। তদুপরি যদিও বা তারা এই বাংলায়, কোনমতে, জিপি মডেম কিংবা জুম আলট্রা কিংবা ব্রডব্যান্ড মডেমের সৌজন্যে ইন্টারনেটে কানেক্ট হবার খায়েশ করেন তবে তাঁদের এহেন খায়েশ যেনো পুরা হয়, সে ব্যবস্থা করতেই যতরকম ইউএসবি মডেম আর সিকিউরড ডিএসএল কানেকশান প্যাকেজ দরকার তা এই আইএসও তে দিয়েছি। আশা করি আপনার মুঠোফোনকে আপনি ওটার সাথে দেয়া তারটুকু দিয়ে আপনার কম্পুতে সংযুক্ত করে ওটাকে মডেম হিসেবে কনফিগার করলে আপনি সহজেই ইন্টারনেটে কানেক্ট হতে পারবেন। যদিও বা ব্লুটুথ ব্যবহার করে ইন্টারনেটে কানেক্ট করাটা তারমুক্ত তবে এটাও ঠিক যে আপনি তার দিয়ে সংযোগ করে মডেমের ডাটা ট্রান্সফার যে রেটে করতে পারবেন তার তুলনায় ব্লুটুথে কম পারবেন। একটু বিবেচনা করে দেখুন আমার কথাগুলো আর সিদ্ধান্ত নিন। আর যদি ব্লুটুথ ব্যবহার করেই নেটকানেকশন আপনার কম্পুতে নিতে চান তবে ভাই আমার আগেই আপনার জন্য সমাধানের হাত বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন তারেক হাসান ভাই। তাঁর দেখানো পথে হেঁটে দেখুন। গন্তব্যে পৌঁছে যাবেন, ইনশাল্লাহ। আবারো ধন্যবাদ আপনাকে লিনাক্স মিন্ট ৯ ইসাডোরা ব্যবহার করার জন্য। রিং +৮৮০১৬৭১৪১১৪৩৭ -- Ubuntu Bangladesh | http://ubuntu-bd.org ubuntu-bd@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bd

[Ubuntu-BD] Help needed to run Live CD
Hi I was using ubuntu 9.01 for last 5 months. I also used Linux Mint 8 Helena. Yesterday I went to join Bontu-Mintur Adda, It was a nice gathering!! We really enjoyed it. I bought 2 customized DVD from the Adda stall. But when I tried to run live, there is a log in screen in the desktop, which can not be removed. I tried both DVDs, but same case. Can anyone help me to solve this problem? After testing successfully with wvdial you can get the gnome-ppp dialer and then copy the /etc/wvdial.conf to ~/.wvdial.conf It should let you dial graphically. I have assigned about 239GB to my /home partition which is ext3 filesystem. I have heard that ext3 has issues with partitions more than 25GB. I fear that my installation will corrupt again. Can I do anything to stop the oncoming crash ? Do you suggest switching to a better FS? Perhaps like JFS or ext4? In that case, how do I convert my FS without losing any data? Add the jaunty CD as repository by synaptic. Then try to install wvdial from command prompt $ sudo apt-get install wvdial wvdialconf If the package is in the CD it will seek the CD and If inserted it will be installed If the package is not in the CD it will try to connect Ubuntu repository servers. There are lots important packages are in CD which is not installed by default. Hello I have recently installed Linux Mint 6 on my Pentium 4, GeForce FX 5200 128MB, 1536MB RAM, Samsung 551s monitor PC. The problem I am facing is, initially the display resolution [both on liveCD and first boot] was OK, 1024x768. But after installing the proprietory driver for nVidia graphics card, my resolution switched to 800x600. And I can't change it from Administration- Display Resolution. The highest value there is 800x600. I have read on this mailing list someone talking about modifying xorg.conf to solve this mess, but I can't find the mail. Can anyone help me to simultaneously use proprietory driver and run on 1024x768 screen resolution?? Hi Imtiaz, Is 800x600 hard coded in your xorg.conf? If so, can you try commenting out the line that has the resolutions? Generally X can automatically pick up the highest supported resolution. I'm not sure about linux mint though, since i've never used it. Also, in my experience, compiling and installing the nvidia driver from nvidia.com gave me better results. It also gives you the nvidia x server settings tool which is quite handy. Yeah, I have tried. But AUTO mode selects the refresh rate as 87Hz which is not supported y my monitor. do you have an lcd or crt display? as far as I can remember most lcd monitors have 60hz refresh rates ... but since thats causing flicking for you, it could be the driver that has a bug. can you do a: glxinfo | grep OpenGL version string from a GUI command line? In the worst case, you might have to install the latest driver from nvidia.com. It shouldn't be a virus. Anti-virus suspects only. I told you I ran inside Wine (so no chance of getting malware/spyware/stealth trozan) It detects your IP. And yes, if you use xampp on windows it should be fine. But using webhost like www.000webhost.com is fine as well. Before someone could help you, you need to provide some information. information like: 1. What is your ISP? 2. Your ethernet card model 3. Do you have to authenticate to be connected (in windows)? 4. Do you have to use manual setting(in windows)?
