[Bug 1029289] Re: Need to authorize my google account each time I boot the computer

2013-08-20 Thread Damiano Dallatana
@Alberto: I did a few tests, and it looks like my accounts are going completely
crazy. Maybe it's my home folder's fault, with files dating back to the old
dapper drake :D
However, the login request appears with at least one between evolution
contacts, evolution gmail, evolution calendar, empathy, shotwell enabled. If I
enable one of them, the request appears immediately. Obviuosly I always gave
access before logging out.
The login request is in the form illustrated by the attached screenshot: a new
window appears, and usually I have to enter my credentials in the main window;
every now and then the main window appears black, and the form is in the
secondary window.
I use the two-step authentication from google, and the first time I added the
account it opened a google page in the main window and I had to enter the token
from the google auth app.

[Bug 1213422] Re: L Ctrl + Up produces no udev event

2013-08-20 Thread Martin Pitt
Which eventX did you try? At the time you filed this it should have been
event3. Is that being shown by /lib/udev/findkeyboards ? If you don't
see any key events at all, it would be a kernel driver regression; udev
can only load keymaps to translate scancodes to the right keycodes, but
it isn't responsible for generating the scan codes in the first place.

11.04 to 11.10, system is an HP 2000 laptop with Realtek RTL8188CE card.
Hardware switch(driver?) for wireless no longer operates. Under 11.04
with 2.6.38.x kernel functionality was correct (except having to toggle
button two times to set to on). The switch never operates, even when
booting kernel where it could be invoked with 2.6 kernel transiently before
system is fully up. Switching back to 2.6.38 kernel restores operation,
with the side effect of suspend not working due to other software/kernel
issues (this results in a locked blank screen that can only be fixed by
 removing all power/battery first).

[Bug 1206371] Re: kwin is not starting: cannot find libwayland-egl.so.1

2013-08-20 Thread Sergio Callegari
Looked into it a bit. Newer kwin on raring is actually OK. It is not OK
when using recent builds of mesa from ppas, where there is no wayland.

Now, the question is... why libwayland-egl is linked directly into kwin
(i.e. shown by ldd on kwin)? Wouldn't it be better to have it as
something that is loaded only when needed?

[Bug 1214409] [NEW] saving annotations destroys document

2013-08-20 Thread Răzvan-Cosmin Rădulescu
Public bug reported:

on Linux razvan-laptop 3.8.0-27-generic #40-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jul 9 00:17:05 UTC
2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux (Ubuntu 13.04)
with qpdfview v0.3.7-2

- when making annotations I cannot save over the opened document,
otherwise the document will be 0k in size. I don't know if this is a
Poppler limitation rather than qpdfview.

- another little thing, kind of unrelated but anyway: when saving a copy
of the file the opened path is $HOME/Documents rather than the path to
the file, at least in connection to the annotations, I would imagine
anyone would like their copy to be in the same directory as the original
and not have to go to every time from the default $HOME/Documents path
to there...

This would be my default pdf viewer if this things would get fixed.
Happy coding :)

 Title:
   saving annotations destroys document

Status in qpdfview package in Ubuntu:
   New

 Bug description:
   on Linux razvan-laptop 3.8.0-27-generic #40-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jul 9
 00:17:05 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux (Ubuntu 13.04)
   with qpdfview v0.3.7-2

   - when making annotations I cannot save over the opened document,
otherwise the document will be 0k in size. I don't know if this is a
   Poppler limitation rather than qpdfview.

   - another little thing, kind of unrelated but anyway: when saving a
copy of the file the opened path is $HOME/Documents rather than the
path to the file, at least in connection to the annotations, I would
imagine anyone would like their copy to be in the same directory as
the original and not have to go to every time from the default
   $HOME/Documents path to there...

This would be my default pdf viewer if this things would get fixed.
   Happy coding :)

Testing with Linux 3.11.0-1-generic (really v3.11-rc5-saucy) I get a
massive failure of hardware support.

USB keyboard and USB mouse keyboard are not detected. No ethernet
wireless or cable devices detected. I even have to launch onboard

[Bug 1189060] Re: Dash: com.canonical.Unity.Lenses 'home-lens-default-view', scope id's that are listed should remain enabled once a search is started

2013-08-20 Thread Pawel Stolowski
This is not a bug and it works as designed (but I recon it's confusing
and not easy to discover).

The 'default view' is the view of home with empty search string (aka
surfacing mode) and this key dictates what scopes should be queried in
this mode. Whilst in the default view, user can *modify* it be
selecting/deselecting filters to personalize it. The change becomes
permanent (stored in dconf) as long as search string is empty. Note that
not every scopes (actually, very few of them at the moment) surface any
data for empty queries.

[Bug 1212455] Re: 8086:2562 Flash 11.2 content displays in shades of green and purple only, and in a horizontally compressed space

2013-08-20 Thread John Hupp
In an off-Launchpad direct exchange, I received some direction that You
would want to bisect the mainline kernel instead of the Ubuntu kernel.

I should say more directly that I have never done kernel bisection until
now, though I'm game for the effort. Nonetheless, very little can be
taken for granted.

Does the above direction mean that when I get to the procedure Commit
bisecting Ubuntu kernel versions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBisection, I should use it only as
some sort of a general guideline and switch to commit bisecting mainline
kernels?

If so, I'm not seeing how. Still assuming that I should use git bisect,
I'm not seeing an identifiable *mainline* git repo at
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/git, and alternatively I'm not seeing *git*
repos at http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/. Perhaps there
are non-Ubuntu-related mainline git repos somewhere that I should be
using.

I'm sure this is all laughably self-evident to any developer reading
this, but I'm just a somewhat experienced user trying to work in the
higher realms where bugs are fixed, so kindly indulge me.

[Bug 1214409] Re: saving annotations destroys document

2013-08-20 Thread Benjamin Eltzner
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1133257 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1133257

Hi,
the first part of this bug is duplicate of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/qpdfview/+bug/1133257 which was fixed in version
0.4.1. I did not backport the fix into ubuntu backports because the procedure
seems very tedious for such a small program and an ubuntu version which is only
supported for 9 months. There is a PPA with newer versions at
https://launchpad.net/~b-eltzner/+archive/qpdfview

For the second point: I think, the save and load dialogues separately
remember the last place to save or load a document. I agree that a
behaviour for the save dialogue as you describe it seems reasonable. I
pushed this request upstream:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/qpdfview/+bug/1214430

I hope this helps.

Hi zombi

for me doing a bindfs mount on top of the webdav mount and then
mounting the ecryptfs on the bindfs mount worked.

does this work with distributed editing?
e.g

- edit on device A

are the changes properly reflected on device B ?

Re: [Bug 1214409] Re: saving annotations destroys document

2013-08-20 Thread Răzvan-Cosmin Rădulescu
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1133257 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1133257

Hi,

Yes, I was searching for a PPA when I saw there is no update for Ubuntu
13.04. Thanks for that and for pushing the request.

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1133257 ***
 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1133257

 Hi,
the first part of this bug is duplicate of
 https://bugs.launchpad.net/qpdfview/+bug/1133257 which was fixed in
version 0.4.1. I did not backport the fix into ubuntu backports because the
procedure seems very tedious for such a small program and an ubuntu version
which is only supported for 9 months. There is a PPA with newer versions at
 https://launchpad.net/~b-eltzner/+archive/qpdfview

For the second point: I think, the save and load dialogues separately
remember the last place to save or load a document. I agree that a
behaviour for the save dialogue as you describe it seems reasonable. I
 pushed this request upstream:
 https://bugs.launchpad.net/qpdfview/+bug/1214430

 I hope this helps.

 Title:
   saving annotations destroys document

Could you try:

sudo apt-get -f install

Does that clear your error?

[Bug 1002061] Re: cron does not log information

2013-08-20 Thread C de-Avillez
No, it is not a bug. It is how cron (and *IX, in general) works. I,
again, suggest you read the man pages. cron will log, or not, depending
on the settings of the '-L' parameter. I am closing this as an OPINION.
