[Bug 671280] Re: [compiz++] Poor performance
I also see strange behaviour with sync to vblank enabled. This are the symptoms that I see: · animations look jerky · openGL games also suffer from this symptoms · everything is slower than it should be. (125215) - Clients shouldn't trust Fetchdata replies for the size of returned data. - fileserver will not hang when attempting to cleanup and dump core. - salvager will not leave core files in random directories. - avoid letting retransmit timer get to 0 seconds. - in event of dbserver contact failure, shut fileserver down cleanly. - handle large partitions during check for needed disk space at client start. - time out Rx connections if network unreachable error received. - avoid dereferencing NULL pointer freeing Rx packets in receive. (125110) - mark stack not executable in LWP. (125491) - return a correct VolumeSync structure from Bulkstat RPCs in fileserver. - client attempts to better free memory at shutdown. - clear rx call queue safely. (125110) - retry VLserver registration on failure in fileserver. - update accessdate for volumes on access in fileserver. - additional safety checks on vlserver operations to avoid database corruption. - make ktc_curpag available on all builds. (125155) [...] Linux: - Handle kernel changes through 2.6.33. - Fix oops in clear_inode due to missed locking. (125589) - Better handle /afs mount failures. - Clean up after failures creating our kernel kmem cache. - Work around memory management issues with some kernels when configuring the buffer cache/bdi (126514) - Rename compile_et to afs_compile_et to avoid RPM conflicts. - Handle whole-file locks properly. (126561) - Deal with kernel autoconf header renaming. - Handle SELinux cache backing file labels better to avoid potential oops. I guess this report here is a duplicate of #445849. Re: [Bug 205717] Re: S/Pdif / digital output not available in pulseaudio
Achim, I read you explanation but I can't get it working like expected. I run my tests on Ubuntu 9.10 and 10.04 alpha2. I configure VLC with use S/PDIF if possible and totem with direct AC3 output. I chose analog duplex profile for my usb terratec MKII sound card on gnome-volume-control. When I play a dolby-digital sample vob file, I get stereo sound trough my optical connexion. This is strange because this happen even when digital output profile isn't used. Is it my sound card that create a digital stereo stream ? If you only get stereo sound, this can have several reasons. 1. the vob file only has Dolby Digital 2.0. 2. the sound gets resampled by pulseaudio. Totem with gstreamer is not able to pass-through dolby-digital. VLC with use S/PDIF if possible and Alsa should work. Make sure that you don't use PulseAudio as output in VLC. I also had to restart VLC to get it working. Is there a way to get more information about what kind of stream is sended by the system through the digital output ? You can use this file as test. http://www.lynnepublishing.com/surround/www_lynnemusic_com_surround_test.ac3 I hope this information is helpful Regards Achim -- S/Pdif / digital output not available in pulseaudio https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/205717 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I can confirm the bug, with the same ppd on dapper, hardy, jaunty, karmic: CUPS_SERVER=cups-karmic lpr .profile print 48 chars per / line, 49-79 are cut off, 80- chare wrapped to the next line. [Bug 439718] Re: New Gnome mixer makes sound tinny/crackly, alsamixer doesn't
I have done a little demo video. The video is getting a bit async. I recorded the problem with gnome-sound-recorder and the monitor device. You have to ignore the low frequency noise, I don't hear that out of my speakers. The high frequency noise is hearable. Most of the time 'Banance' is not affected by that problem. What also looks a bit weird is that some sliders seem to be connected to each other. You will notice if I move one slider other sliders also start to move, that is strange. I hope this information is somehow helpful. [Bug 135557] Re: [i965gm] Kubuntu: Screen dimensions of external monitor not correct on X server startup (intel driver)
Hi 7oby, well, ... 1) Keith describes that with the current algorigthm _his_ LVDS used the native (i.e. best) resolution. So he stopped after 'works-for-me' (perfectly fine for the first start). If this would be the case for me too, everything would be alright too ;) As this is not the case, and the algorithm fails miserably in result visible, I had to write this bug report and bug 437173. 2) I could not try you 'fix dpi' setting, as the user took the laptop with him again, nevertheless this would be a workaround (but thx for pointing me to the setting). I reported it in the hope it can be fixed. Back on topic: agreeing on one dpi is fine (in the first step) but when the high resolution monitor is turned off with xrandr, the dpi (as xrandr and xdpyinfo report them) should be changed to the native resolution of the only remaining monitor (96dpi) and not stay at 147 dpi.
