Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I'm using Ubuntu 6.10 When I double-click on a video file in Nautilus, the associated player sometimes starts twice. It happens randomly. [Bug 93348] Re: X11 crashes with a dual-head configuration after lauching for example the screensaver
Note that the Xinerama for the Dual mode for the i810 that does work attachment seems to incorrectly tell the window manager about the size of the second screen: you can't move windows (like an xterm) to the far right of the second screen (somewhere in the middle, it stops your moving). You can, however, maximize the window and then it actually will reach that far right part of the screen. You can also press buttons and do things in that window, then. However, popup-windows like menus will be aligned or glued to the far left part of the second screen. New windows will not be centered correct and cannot be moved correctly. This is also why I disabled Xinerama in that configuration (read it, you'll notice that I commented it out). -- X11 crashes with a dual-head configuration after lauching for example the screensaver https://launchpad.net/bugs/93348 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

However, the patch you attached here said that it was upstream patch 7409 modified for edgy/feisty, and the name is 13_fdo_att7409_bug5473.diff - it's also now included in feisty. Is your patch here really modified from the patch 7409, or actually the later 8746 with which you reported success? Because now in the upstream bug it says about the one problem case that was encountered after the patch went in, that I checked the log file for the above problem, and found out that you were probably using patch 8651. Please try the later version 8746. (patch 8651 is the 7409 with your modifications, with which you still said that only blank screen). So how is it? The patch here is not exactly like the upstream modified 8651 you had no luck with, but I can't really say if it includes the complete changes from 8746 (as applied to 6.6.3 driver) either. -- [x700] fails to infer lvds for primary connector on acer ferrari 4005 | card detected, but driver fails to use right output port https://launchpad.net/bugs/22985 _ FREE pop-up blocking with the new MSN Toolbar - get it now! http://toolbar.msn.click-url.com/go/onm00200415ave/direct/01/ -- [x700] fails to infer lvds for primary connector on acer ferrari 4005 | card detected, but driver fails to use right output port https://launchpad.net/bugs/22985 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 15219] Re: r100 lockups during/after dri (radeon 7000, mobility m6)
I'm afraid I spoke too soon. In general use on the desktop it has been fine (I even had compiz running). However, I had left euphoria screensaver running overnight and I've come back to it twice now humg; this time I ssh'd in and found it was a hung X server; killing the X server got me control back. I've included two Xorg.0.log files; the 'hung' one is the one where it was hung - last thing is a power management command. (To make it clear, it has managed power saving and running this screensaver - so it's not an everytime). In this hung state the X server wouldn't let me attach with a gdb or allow me to strace it to see what it was up to. I've also included the log from me trying to restart it - it complains of EngineRestore 'Idle timed out'. [Bug 93378] Cannot cancel downloading the list of artwork/themes
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-art To reproduce: Run gnome-art From the Art menu, choose Backgrounds-GNOME Observed: A lengthy download is automatically begun, and a progress dialogue is shown (Downloading background 1/1078). There is no Cancel or Abort button on this dialogue, and there are no window-decorations either. Expected: Should be a method of aborting the download. Any progress-window should appear with usual window-decorations. I don't know whether this is by design - the missing window-decorations makes it look like something is wrong. The application is effectively hung when it is in this state, since there is no way to cancel the download, which could take a long time (several minutes, even on my broadband connection). Another problem is: the download is begun even if I have successfully downloaded the items previously. I can't just run gnome-app and view the thumbnails that are already there. It insists on re-downloading them every single time. I guess this is a separate issue, but it wouldn't be a problem if I could quickly cancel the download and view the thumbnails already there. Re: [Bug 93259] Re: [apport] gnome-panel crashed with SIGSEGV while updating via update-manager
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 85776 *** Hello Sebastien, I`m managed to make a Valgrind.log but I don`t know if its any use to you it only happened the once. Thursdays update had a notice about Ubuntu using closed source drivers (already read about it and have nvidia drivers installed anyway)but I clicked on OK and thought no more of it. The next day the X server could`nt find the nvidia driver so I changed the xorg.conf to vesa just to get a gui but it could`nt find that either, in the end I had to use xorg.conf.backup. Re: [Bug 91251] Re: IBM Thinkvision 21 CRT resolution not recognized
(Looks as if the attachments in last message didnt make it, so here I try again) I did steps 1-3 in your howto, and the attachments requested in step 5 are with this message.I didnt finish step 4, as the semi-graphical console program asked questions I didnt know the answer to, but did mess around and had a new xorg.conf saved; the original is attached also (xorg.conf.orig). The symptoms are, 1) When booting from live-cd, the dark console screen with the ubuntu logo shows bands of thin brown/red lines near the top. There is also a small ubuntu-colored residual at the left of the progress bar. 2) All is fine, Gnome logs in, but resolution is low (768x1024) and the System-Preferences-Screen Resolution doesnt offer higher resolutions. I wanted to make a screenshot btw, but found that the screenshot tool cannot take a region made with the mouse, but only whole windows .. can this be true .. or perhaps a bug as well? [Bug 93381] [Feisty] Name column width in nautilus
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Now in Feisty the behavior of nautilus regarding calculating the column width has changed. previously the first column (aka Name) would have been made as wide as needed to show the longest file name in the current directory. Now that seems to be superseded by showing all columns in window even when this means filenames are *not* completly visible. This has the result in changing the width of Name column after every directory change. The last column (in my case owner) therefore seems allways to be much bigger then needed. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- [Feisty] Name column width in nautilus https://launchpad.net/bugs/93381 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 93384] The demos and examples of Qt 4 are not provided in compiled form
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: qt4-doc The qt4-doc package is expected to contain the demos and examples such that they can be executed and tried out immediately. However, the demo sources are installed as a tarball at /usr/share/doc/qt4-doc/qt4-demos.tar.gz and the example sources at /usr/share/doc/qt4-doc/qt4-examples.tar.gz. In contrast, the default Qt 4 compile using ./configure, make does compile these packages and presumably make install would install the demos and examples in binary form. (I didn't try make install for fear of mucking up my debianised install.) Therefore I submit that the Qt 4 demos and examples should be provided in compiled form in the qt4-doc package or maybe as two separate binary packages - qt4-demos and qt4-examples (or maybe qt4-demos-and-examples). The sources of course should be included with the qt4-doc package since they are meant for learning Qt but preferrably do NOT ship them in tarballs. The deb format already tar-gz-es the data so there is no space gain. ** Affects: qt4-x11 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- The demos and examples of Qt 4 are not provided in compiled form https://launchpad.net/bugs/93384 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
