[Bug 329773] Re: Rythmbox crashes when podcast episode reaches 100%
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. We found out that it's somehow related to our usb devices. When the system hangs, we disconnect the USB HUB (disconnecting a device doesn't change anything) and the system continues to boot. [Bug 329996] [NEW] suspend only works when connected to AC
Public bug reported: Hi, I have an HP Pavillion DV6000 series (DV6607), with an AMD 64, and NVIDIA chipset, running Ubuntu 8.10. Right now suspend and hibernate seem to work without much problem when the computer is connected to the AC adapter. However, when I'm running on battery, the computer fails to either go to suspend mode, or come out of it. So, if I suspend while connected to the AC, disconnect the power, and then open the lid, the power light goes on, but the screen is dark, and nothing is happening (caps lock and num lock key are non-responsive as well). However, if I connect to AC at this point, the computer starts running without a problem. Similarly, if I'm not connected to the AC and the computer is running, if I try to suspend, the process starts, and the screen turns black, but the back lighting doesn't turn off, and the power light continues on staying on (and the battery runs out fairly quickly as well). Any suggestion on how I can approach this bug is appreciated. [Bug 324212] Re: Tomcat 6 does not respect CATALINA_BASE/lib
I agree that having a /var/lib/tomcat6/lib directory that is just ignored is very confusing. However I would not change Tomcat behavior from upstream design and make it consider two directories when looking for libraries. Not only would that involve some heavy patch into bootstrap.jar, it would also introduce a change in how Tomcat usually works. I'd rather fix the confusion by removing /var/lib/tomcat6/lib and also the lib subdirectory in instances created by tomcat6-instance-create. ** Changed in: tomcat6 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium Status: New = Triaged -- Tomcat 6 does not respect CATALINA_BASE/lib https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/324212 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 214193] Re: Romanian spell-check dictionary uses incorect diacritics
Guys, users don't care about versioning, they just need the dictionary with the most words and the correct writing scheme. There is no sense in distributing the wrong cedilla version, as you all know there is a law that says we should use the correct comma version in official writings, so I see no sense in giving Ubuntu users a headache. The X.org comes with a comma keymap by default. Readable is not an excuse because if the user is typing commas he won't be able to search the document. Usable is more important. As you *need* to install software to view documents you can install fonts to view documents. Changing a keymap is not that simple and distributing a spell-checker that marks correct incorrect writing is very wrong. So Jani, could you repeat your solution with comma involved ? IMHO it doesn't matter what versioning scheme you choose to use as long as you're comitted to maintain the package. -- Romanian spell-check dictionary uses incorect diacritics https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/214193 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This bug was fixed in the package postgresql-8.3 - 8.3.6-0ubuntu8.10 --- postgresql-8.3 (8.3.6-0ubuntu8.10) intrepid-proposed; urgency=low * New upstream bug fix release: (LP: #326372) - Make DISCARD ALL release advisory locks, in addition to everything it already did. This was decided to be the most appropriate behavior. This could affect existing applications, however. - Fix whole-index GiST scans to work correctly. This error could cause rows to be lost if a table is clustered on a GiST index. - Fix crash of xmlconcat(NULL). - Fix possible crash in ispell dictionary if high-bit-set characters are used as flags. This is known to be done by one widely available Norwegian dictionary, and the same condition may exist in others. (Closes: #513580) - Fix misordering of pg_dump output for composite types. The most likely problem was for user-defined operator classes to be dumped after indexes or views that needed them. - Improve handling of URLs in headline() function. - Improve handling of overlength headlines in headline() function. - Prevent possible Assert failure or misconversion if an encoding conversion is created with the wrong conversion function for the specified pair of encodings. - Fix possible Assert failure if a statement executed in PL/pgSQL is rewritten into another kind of statement, for example if an INSERT is rewritten into an UPDATE. - Ensure that a snapshot is available to datatype input functions. This primarily affects domains that are declared with CHECK constraints involving user-defined stable or immutable functions. Such functions typically fail if no snapshot has been set. - Make it safer for SPI-using functions to be used within datatype I/O; in particular, to be used in domain check constraints. - Avoid unnecessary locking of small tables in VACUUM. - Fix a problem that sometimes kept ALTER TABLE ENABLE/DISABLE RULE from being recognized by active sessions. - Fix a problem that made UPDATE RETURNING tableoid return zero instead of the correct OID. - Allow functions declared as taking ANYARRAY to work on the pg_statistic columns of that type. This used to work, but was unintentionally broken in 8.3. - Fix planner misestimation of selectivity when transitive equality is applied to an outer-join clause. This could result in bad plans for queries like ... from a left join b on a.a1 = b.b1 where a.a1 = 42 ... - Improve optimizer's handling of long IN lists. This change avoids wasting large amounts of time on such lists when constraint exclusion is enabled. - Prevent synchronous scan during GIN index build. Because GIN is optimized for inserting tuples in increasing TID order, choosing to use a synchronous scan could slow the build by a factor of three or more. - Ensure that the contents of a holdable cursor don't depend on the contents of TOAST tables. Previously, large field values in a cursor result might be represented as TOAST pointers, which would fail if the referenced table got dropped before the cursor is read, or if the large value is deleted and then vacuumed away. This cannot happen with an ordinary cursor, but it could with a cursor that is held past its creating transaction. - Fix memory leak when a set-returning function is terminated without reading its whole result. - Fix encoding conversion problems in XML functions when the database encoding isn't UTF-8. - Fix contrib/dblink's dblink_get_result(text,bool) function. - Fix possible garbage output from contrib/sslinfo functions. - Fix incorrect behavior of contrib/tsearch2 compatibility trigger when it's fired more than once in a command. - Fix possible mis-signaling in autovacuum. - Fix ecpg's handling of varchar structs. - Make all documentation reference pgsql-bugs and/or pgsql-hackers as appropriate, instead of the now-decommissioned pgsql-ports and pgsql-patches mailing lists. -- Martin Pitt martin.p...@ubuntu.com Fri, 06 Feb 2009 23:44:54 +0100 ** Changed in: postgresql-8.3 (Ubuntu Intrepid) Status: Fix Committed = Fix Released ** Changed in: postgresql-8.3 (Ubuntu Hardy) Status: Fix Committed = Fix Released -- New upstream bug fix releases 8.3.6/8.1.16 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/326372 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 250140] Re: Print settings can't be saved/Only US-letter format
Im on Ubuntu Intrepid. All up to date as of today (16/02/09). For the last couple of releases of Ubuntu, for me the Print option dialogue settings have not been persistent. I have to regularly reset my options as they have gone back to the defaults (I prefer to turn off all the header and footer printing options and enable printing of background colours and images). It also fails to recall that fact my printers are all A4 - I'm in the UK. What further information would you need to help find a resolution? *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 294076 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/294076 This might also help: Just go to SystemPreferencesAppearance Click on the Fonts tab and under Rendering, choose Subpixel Smoothing. [Bug 301353] Re: HP Pavilion dv5: ATA exception on resume from suspend
There is still an error on my dv5-1170ew with new F.13A bios. I think they changed something with wireless only.
