Same problem here on a eeepc 1015, the device is RT3090. I downloaded the driver for 3090 from ralink web site and it works fine. Re: [Bug 892554] Re: SSH keys summary does not report ECDSA key
What's the best way to add a known_hosts entry from these fingerprints? Maybe the -e option should be used instead of -l ? I don't think there is enough information to create an ssh known_hosts entry from the fingerprint. I've written a blog post at http://ubuntu-smoser.blogspot.com/2010/07/verify-ssh-keys-on-ec2-instances.html demonstrating how to check the host before connecting. I think the original intent of this feature (before my time) was to serve humans verifying the remote host, thus the fingerprint makes sense. However, it seems that it would make sense to support outputting something more machine consumable, which the 'ssh -e' would be better for. I'm open to adding a cloud-config option for this. Care to open a bug? Unfortunately, I don't think we can reasonably ditch the old default behavior as many tools have been written to scrape console output looking for this formated string. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/892554 Title: SSH keys summary does not report ECDSA key To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-init/+bug/892554/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I'm on Ubuntu 11.10 and that's not related to any profile selection I can't select profile anyway there's alway one output. I update my Ubuntu everyday and there's no new update about alsa at the moment. And this is at least relates to the alsa process which is frozen. It happends since three days. It happened before with another kernel but I got back to a standard kernel. And the errors finally occurs again. If more information are needed to explore the problem, ask me. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The version of update-initramfs that you likely have installed is unable to work on a persistent usb stick. You can resolve this issue by upgrading the version of casper on your system. This can be done via the commands: sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install casper Then performing the software update or installation that you were originally trying. [Bug 893292] [NEW] Linux-3.0.0-13 upgrade breaks networking + simple temporary fix
Public bug reported: Upgrading Ubuntu-11.10 from kernel-3.0.0-12 to kernel-3.0.0-13 breaks networking, rendering machines unbootable. Problem is missing /run/network directory reported when '/etc/init.d/networking restart' is run manually. Multiple problems... 1) /etc/init/networking.conf creates /var/run/network instead of /run/network 2) /run/network never populated Fix seems to be changing /etc/init/networking.conf as follows: 1) change mkdir -p /var/run/network to /run/network 2) exec /etc/network/if-up.d/upstart to populate /run/network /etc/network/if-up.d/upstart is what's called in /etc/init.d/networking to populate /run/network, so that's what's used in this fix. There may be a more correct way to do this. This doesn't work though, as it appears tmpfs gets mounted over /run/network after networking.conf runs. For now, adding the following big, ugly, simple hack to /etc/rc.local mkdir -p /run/network /etc/init.d/networking restart ** Affects: ifupdown (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Summary changed: - Linux-3.0.0-13 upgrade breaks networking + simple temporary fixroot + Linux-3.0.0-13 upgrade breaks networking + simple temporary fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/893292 Title: Linux-3.0.0-13 upgrade breaks networking + simple temporary fix To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ifupdown/+bug/893292/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 891816] Re: Moving or copying text with the mouse yields a segfault
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. [Bug 893259]
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/893259/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 893310] [NEW] geoclue: will fail to build against gpsd 3.3

[Bug 880476] Re: after update to kernel 3.0.0-13 ubuntu 11.10 does not start
Hi, I also confirm same problem. Couple minutes ago I installed updates with Update manager, and after restart could not boot any more. I selected 3.0.0-12 in grub and booted as usually. Using Lubuntu 11.10, fresh installation. I this can help, my root partition is Luks crypted, and system halted BEFORE asking for password (this also mean that logs could not be written to /var/log ) . [Bug 836250] Re: [Oneiric] [Regression] Intel Corporation Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 poor networking, packet loss and very slow Lenovo X201 and T500 laptops
I wonder if I shall turn my 11n off as long as this isn't fixed. I can connect to my AP without problems and the connection never drops, but I also have these excessive retries in 11n mode. When connected in g mode I have faster pings but network transfer is slower when copying a file by FTP from my NAS. So should I not worry about the lost packets and use n and enjoy the slightly better performance? Or can I suffer from data loss? [Bug 893316] [NEW] Ubuntu connects to wrong network after sleep
Public bug reported: When coming back from sleep, the system tries to connect to a different WiFi network, although the previously used network is still available. Since I usually don't have credentials for the other networks in range, a window pops up, which is very annoying. I'd expect ubuntu/NetworkManager to try to connect to the previously used network first. I believe this was the default behavior before Oneric, but I'm not sure. (I would guess gnome 2.xx used to coordinate going to sleep/waking up with NetworkManager, and this was removed/broken with the transition to Gnome 3 or Oneric. Now, NetworkManager just sees that the connection is lost, and does what it always does, and picks the next available network.)
