I prefer to launch full screen. It is taking 9 seconds on first load, and about 4 seconds on subsequent loads. My settings are all default except that I do prefer to launch full-screen. My goal is to launch my applications as fast as possible. After I hit the super-key, I don't want to have to wait (at all) to begin typing (to locate an application). [Bug 1069177] [NEW] Bogus insensitive events after clicking on different date
Public bug reported: The events indicator-datetime shows below the calendar depends on the selected date. When a new date is selected that has fewer associated events than the current date, some of the old events remain in the list, but are shown as insensitive rather than deleted. [Bug 1069176] [NEW] System Settings focus behaviour is very inconsistent and confusing
Public bug reported: Using the power cog menu to open System Settings works if it is either not already open, or nothing has been selected. Otherwise, even if you are in the main view, it will not appear, but the Unity Launcher entry will instead get urgency (wiggle). This can be confusing and difficult to notice since your eyes are drawn to the opposite side of the screen. The effect is that it doesn't seem to do anything at all. Even when you know that this is the case, it is actually quite difficult to get used to, because it might be ten hours since you used the volume control and now you can no longer open System Settings. What I would like to happen, is that if you select Audio Settings from the Audio Menu, then the System Settings dialog is opened or focused. If you open the power cog menu and select System Settings, the System Settings dialog is presented. This is not currently what happens. In other words; it should not just launch. It should also Focus If Open. Quick and easy steps to reproduce: 1) Click the power cog and select System Settings. 2) Click outside the System Settings dialog so that it is completely hidden by a maximized window behind it. 3) Perform step 1 again. 4) Notice that System Settings is focused, as you would expect. 5) Select an entry in the dialog, such as Sound. 6) Hide the dialog again by clicking the maximized window as before. 7) Open System Settings from the power cog again. 8) Notice that this time, the dialog does not appear, but that the icon on the launcher has urgency. (wiggles) 9) Click the icon in the launcher to bring System Settings in focus. 10) In the System Settings dialog, go back to the main view by using the breadcrumbs. 11) As before, hide System Settings by clicking on a maximized window in the background. 12) Reopen System Settings from the power cog. 13) Notice that while the dialog looks identical to how it did in step 1, it can no longer be reopened from the power cog. [Bug 1069179] [NEW] Toggle for autocomplete is missing
Public bug reported: When using libreoffice calc, it always autocompletes values in a column. For example, if I begin a column with 2b, then in any other cell in that column if I start typing 2 it will automatically try to complete it to 2b. [Bug 1023645] Re: ndiswrapper-dkms 1.57-1ubuntu1: ndiswrapper kernel module failed to build [error: ‘struct kernel_stat’ has no member named ‘cpustat’]
Yes, this would be the most straightforward solution. However, I arranged it the other way (using dkms) to automatise the process when upgrading the kernel. Wouldn't it stop working if the Ubuntu team released, let's say, a 3.5.0-18 kernel update? Then make + make install would be necessary for every kernel upgrade. The idea is that dkms handles the build process automatically each time you upgrade the kernel, so you don't have to worry about the module not working every time you boot after a new kernel install. Correct me if I'm wrong, please. :) Anyway, I'm glad you got it working! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1023645 Title: ndiswrapper-dkms 1.57-1ubuntu1: ndiswrapper kernel module failed to build [error: ‘struct kernel_stat’ has no member named ‘cpustat’] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ndiswrapper/+bug/1023645/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1069184] [NEW] wrong inormation about the diskspace in the syseminformation
Public bug reported: In the systems information overview the diskspace is not shown correctly. There are shown 3,2 TB of diskspace, which could not be true. The system harddisk is about 64 GB (SSD). There are also 2 other harddisks installed. One with 500 GB and the other has 250 GB. So even if i summerize all together it wont be 3,2 TB at all. Could it be a bug? Changing mirrors didn't do anything for me, but the forum thread Arup linked to had the fix for me. [Bug 379367] Re: Gedit adding a newline at the end of file should be configurable
I came across this bug while trying to understand bash. If I do $ printf %s$IFS out.txt and look at out.txt in gedit, I am quite unaware that $IFS has the newline character as its last character, because gedit thinks aha, this file already has a newline character as its last character, so I needn't display it. Just to be sure I opened out.txt in hexedit before opening it in gedit. I believe policy should be divorced from mechanism - if I want a newline I should be able to add it myself; and have gedit show whether it's there or not. Incidentally, in https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=625955 Jesse van den Kieboom has provided a patch, but I'm not enough of a linux guru to know how to apply it, and I don't see an entry for it in gconf-editor. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/379367 Title: Gedit adding a newline at the end of file should be configurable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gedit/+bug/379367/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

ill, regarding your comments https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1066449/comments/26 : I never built it. [Bug 575000] Re: Conflict between webcam and wifi
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected quantal ** Description changed: Hi, I'm using Kubuntu 9.10, tried Kubuntu 10.04, same problem there. Also tried opensuse 11.2, also same problem there. Problem: When I start using my webcam, my wifi disconnects and is unable to restart. On the other hand, my webcam only works with wifi disabled. Those are the components concerned: Bus 001 Device 003: ID 148f:2573 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT2501USB Wireless Adapter Bus 001 Device 004: ID 04f2:b022 Chicony Electronics Co., Ltd Gateway USB 2.0 Webcam Workaround: Disabled uvcvideo by blacklisting it. When I want to use my webcam, I need a Cable-LAN connection and starting it manually with sudo modprobe uvcvideo First I thought, this bug is related to bug #435352, but as this seems to be solved with an kernel-update, and mine isn't, it seems to be a new one. In var/log/debug and messages there is no suspicious entry about that. [Bug 1069177] Re: Bogus insensitive events after clicking on different date
The attachment fix of this bug report has been identified as being a patch in the form of a debdiff. The ubuntu-sponsors team has been subscribed to the bug report so that they can review and hopefully sponsor the debdiff. In the event that this is in fact not a patch you can resolve this situation by removing the tag 'patch' from the bug report and editing the attachment so that it is not flagged as a patch. Additionally, if you are member of the ubuntu-sponsors team please also unsubscribe the team from this bug report. [This is an automated message performed by a Launchpad user owned by Brian Murray.
