[Bug 1181352] Re: .
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I noticed that you are installing an older version of Ubuntu, unless you have some specific requirements to run an older release I recommend trying to install the latest LTS version of Ubuntu. We released version 12.04, in April of 2012, and it is a Long Term Support release. You can find different ways to obtain it at http://download.ubuntu.com. In the event that you really want to run the older version of Ubuntu please set this bug's status back to New. Thanks! [This is an automated message. Public bug reported: Whent installing 64 bit server 13.04 I noticed I could not log on to the server directly. Booting the system ends in the server displaying boot messages, but no login: prompt. [Bug 1175944] Re: getstream quits with SIGABRT when ANY of the tuners loses signal
correction: If the multiplex from the *affected (signal loss)* tuner was streamed somewhere. Well, the watchdog is really necessary. The event loop gets stuck eventually when one of the tuners has poor signal (and perhaps when I attempt to watch it?). So far it seems that increasing the watchdog timeout from 1s to 2s reduces the abort rate dramatically. That is, of course, no actual solution and could prevent debugging attempts. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1175944 Title: getstream quits with SIGABRT when ANY of the tuners loses signal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/getstream/+bug/1175944/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1173566] Re: ZTE HSDPA Modem MF627 MF628 not recognized by network-manager in Ubuntu 13.04

Then saved the file at /etc/usb_modeswitch.d 3. finally I created a file named "usb-storage.conf" in /etc/modprobe.d" and copied in these lines: # Increase the default delay to avoid conflict with usb_modeswitch options usb-storage delay_use=3 4. [Bug 1180751] Re: Lenovo T420s boot problem

[Bug 1010625] Re: named logs are not being reported in logwatch
Every service that specifies 'LogFile = messages' in its LogWatch .conf file (there are 40 of them) is now dead in LogWatch. I would propose one of the following fixes: 1) Remove the 'LogFile = messages' line completely from all of the aforementioned .conf files. Hey Cho, um. read the previous comment once more. [Bug 1015183]
(In reply to comment #88) Hello. I would like to provide testing for this bug if possible but I'm not exactly clued up on compiling xorg-server from scratch. I figure it could be useful to have a none-standard (ie not a laptop or tablet device) low-end hardware test case but if it's unlikely to be useful then please let me know. One thing I've noticed is that once this bug has triggered (rendering most GTK applications and the unity dash unusable), Nautilus continues to function normally with the touch screen. Can anyone else confirm this on a standard Ubuntu 13.04 installation? Anyway, I can see the branch you're talking about and can clone the git repository no problem. > Copy the debian directory from xserver 1.14, and comment out each patch that fails to apply in debian/patches/series I'm not certain which directory / patches you're referring to here, could you point me in the right direction? I can duplicate this bug every time with a custom application which uses a GtkToolPalette. It appears to trigger every time I tap a category which produces a smooth roll-out animation - the hardware is pretty low end so I suppose this additional load triggers a race condition? I can trigger the bug in other normal uses but this one is guaranteed every time. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1015183 Title: Inconsistent mouse events for Acer T231H multitouch monitor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/1015183/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I still need help compiling the test branch of xserver on ubuntu 13.04. If I try to compile it, detailed here http://www.x.org/wiki/CompileXserverManually it fails with complaints of wrong versions of x11proto. But, I have verified that the correct packages are actually installed on my system. So, I tried using jhbuild which builds everything in your home directory, details here http://www.x.org/wiki/JhBuildInstructions But, when I launch the jhbuild version, it crashes because it doesn't include my synaptics touchpad or cando touch screen. It won't run without input devices. So, can you provide some insight as to how I can build and test this xserver? Since some of you are using ubuntu, perhaps more specific instructions would work for me. [Bug 1181355] Re: R300 (RS480): Intermittent flickering corruption top half of display (VGA, 1080p)
After catching it in the act with my phone camera, the glitch seems prone to reusing more recognizable content today - this is my desktop background (although there's a pile of icon-litter on top of it in normal circumstances) offset and possibly tinted a bit. [Bug 1181358] [NEW] Online Accounts continually spams my desktop browser
Public bug reported: When, for whatever reason, Online Accounts loses access to Facebook, my gear icon turns red and I need to re-grant access to Facebook. When I bring up the Online Accounts window, a new tab in my desktop browser pops up prompting me to log into Facebook. Worse, in the background, ever so often, a new tab will be created, again prompting me to log into Facebook and focus will be shifted from whatever I'm currently working on to this new tab. This is a regression from Raring. There, when I need to re-grant access to FB or whatever, no focus stealing tab is ever created in my desktop browser window. Instead, a separate window will be created inside the Online Accounts window, but even then, only when I explicitly click on the menu item. Focus stealing is highly disrupted to my work. [Bug 1181355] [NEW] R300 (RS480): Intermittent flickering corruption top half of display (VGA, 1080p)
Public bug reported: Any suggestions where to start welcome: Compaq SR1611NX desktop, "Radeon Xpress 200" RS480 (R300) graphics. HP LV2311 LCD connected via VGA because that's the only output on this hardware. The VGA output used to be a little "less than perfectly stable" with older X.org (versions shipped from Ubuntu 9.x to 10.x). Unknown improvements since then have made the overall display much more stable - no more shifty horizontal flicker. In tradeoff, now the top half of the display occasionally flashes distractingly for fractions of a second (single frames?) with "memory cruft" as you might expect to see during boot or graphics init - generally offset large "checkerboard"-esque blocks of black and color with no obvious relation to what's on the display. This would seem to suggest it's an actual GPU/driver issue rather than a glitch on the VGA/monitor end of things. No idea how to trigger or reproduce other than that it will generally occur at least once within each 15 minutes or so of use. Expanding and retracting the dash (very slowly due to the current regression - takes about 5+ seconds to fade in and dismiss) will sometimes set it off, however. [Bug 1181312] Re: Race to start gnome-settings-daemon in upstart user session
Ah, in that case this may just be a bug with my setup. $HOME/.config/autostart/ is likely read before any of those directories, and I have a copy of gnome-settings-daemon.desktop in there. [Bug 1171838] Re: Last nights isc-dhcp-server update fails to start
I have had this issue off and on for a couple of weeks. After much tearing of hair and gnashing of teeth I believe I fixed it. In the upstart configuration for isc-dhcp-server there is no stanza of the form: /lib/init/apparmor-profile-load usr.sbin.dhcpd I don't know about systems running NM but if you have a dhcp server running likely you don't want NM taking your connections up and down (I remob\ved NM from this system and statically configure the network) but the apparmor profile likely needs to be there in cases where the network is statically configured. The apparmor configuration likely is loaded too late on these systems and this causes much grief. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1171838 Title: Last nights isc-dhcp-server update fails to start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/isc-dhcp/+bug/1171838/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Don't do that. If you are trying to get a correct grub.cfg, then you have to chroot since grub-mkconfig generates a config to boot the system it finds in the current root. > But other OS's *can*. [Bug 1169376] Re: XPS13 backlight stopped working after update 3.8.0-18.28
I wouldn't worry too much about the patches disappearing. As long as they don't cause any regressions while the proposed kernel is being tested, then you should see the updated kernel and backlight fixes go out very soon. Some more info on the stable release cadence can be found here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/StableReleaseCadence The backlight issues for this laptop have been rather tricky to address, and the 3.8 kernels for raring are the first ones to natively carry any of the work from upstream in them (hence no need for a special ppa). As you can see, it's taken some work to get it right, but, 13.04 and higher should eventually contain a permanent fix. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1169376 Title: XPS13 backlight stopped working after update 3.8.0-18.28 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dell-sputnik/+bug/1169376/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1176221] Re: Nuvola doesn't load Google Music service, stops at "Loading Music Library..."
I am more than willing to offer a small bounty of $10 to you in donation money if this bug is fixed. I am not one to bribe, but Play Music has been completely redesigned and there are bound to be even more than this in terms of bugs with Play Music. I have donated before and promise to donate again if this is fixed in a reasonably timely manner. I'm not going to be ridiculous in my time span, but if possible I'd like to see this fixed within a few days or weeks if possible. If it takes months, I'd just like a brief explanation. I know this sounds like a bribe (and it is), but think of it as a promised donation as well. I rely heavily on Play Music, and want Nuvola modernized to accommodate that for me and other users. Thanks. Now, with regards to the other bugs, good luck!
