Re: [Cairo-dock-team] [Bug 1179297] Re: Cairo Dock crashes on Notification Area Mouse-Over
Hi, what items do you have in the systray ? did it crash when you hover any of them with the mouse ? I think the best is to reproduce the bug and catch it with gdb. 2013/5/15 Matthieu Baerts matt...@gmail.com If this was in fact corrupted data from D-Bus or GTK, would there be any way to verify this? Yes I guess it's easy to verify this with GDB. (and with dbus-monitor and 'cairo-dock -l debug' to have more debugs info) A more likely cause would probably be that a corrupt indicator was created, or something along those lines. But I'm not sure that it's easy to do (I hope that it's not easy to create a corrupted indicator :) ). If it's no longer possible to reproduce this crash, we'll have to check the code and find where it can crash if the data are corrupted... not so easy and maybe too much work if we can't reproduce it... @fabounet: any idea? :) I'm going to modify the status to 'Invalid' but feel free to re-open this bug if you've this crash again. [Bug 1181743] Re: package apache2.2-common 2.2.22-6ubuntu5 failed to install/upgrade: il sottoprocesso installato script di post-installation ha restituito lo stato di errore 1
Thank you for your report. This looks like a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu, so I'm marking this bug as Invalid. Specifically, it looks like you've modified /etc/apache2/mods-enabled/, and created regular files instead of symlinks in there. It looks like the maintainer script is refusing to touch your custom changes as it cannot understand them, so you will need to fix up your Apache configuration yourself. You can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community If you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New. ** Changed in: apache2 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181743 Title: package apache2.2-common 2.2.22-6ubuntu5 failed to install/upgrade: il sottoprocesso installato script di post-installation ha restituito lo stato di errore 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+bug/1181743/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1181790] Re: looking in /usr/lib/cgi-bin instead of /etc/awstats
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I cannot reproduce this on awstats 7.0~dfsg-5 on Precise. I did: apt-get install awstats /usr/lib/cgi-bin/awstats.pl -config=yourdomain.ext -update I got: Error: SiteDomain parameter not defined in your config/domain file. You must edit it for using this version of AWStats. Setup ('/etc/awstats/awstats.conf' file, web server or permissions) may be wrong. Check config file, permissions and AWStats documentation (in 'docs' directory). So it looks like awstats.pl is looking in /etc/awstats as expected. strace -eopen lists the following relevant file open attempts: open(/usr/lib/cgi-bin/awstats.yourdomain.ext.conf, O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) open(/usr/lib/cgi-bin/awstats.conf, O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) open(yourdomain.ext, O_RDONLY)= -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) open(/etc/awstats/awstats.yourdomain.ext.conf, O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) open(/etc/awstats/awstats.conf, O_RDONLY) = 3 open(/etc/awstats/awstats.conf.local, O_RDONLY) = 4 I then installed apache2, and set SiteDomain to example.com in /etc/awstats/awstate.conf. Then: # /usr/lib/cgi-bin/awstats.pl -config=example.com -update Create/Update database for config /etc/awstats/awstats.conf by AWStats version 7.0 (build 1.971) From data in log file /var/log/apache2/access.log... Note that www-data cannot read /var/log/apache2/ by default. Are you sure that your problem isn't just that you should be running awstats.pl -update as something that can read the logs? Otherwise you need to collect the static content to avoid the file not accessible error. See http://lists.openstack.org/pipermail/openstack- dev/2013-April/007770.html . These compression errors are probably hiding the real problem. I think perhaps you meant to link this bug to the horizon ubuntu package rather than the ubuntu OS. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181150 Title: Dashboard GUI down (HTTP 500 error) on upgrade from folsom to grizzly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/horizon/+bug/1181150/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1181982] [NEW] Unity Tweak Tool: Hiding desktop icons triggers bug (frozen login screen is shown as background picture)
Public bug reported: Go to Unity Tweak Tool - Desktop Icons - and set Icons on desktop to OFF. Reboot and log in. The login screen freezes and is displayed as background image on the desktop. This bug is described in various reports (pretty much all marked as duplicates now) and can be found here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings- daemon/+bug/1115886 The solution is: dconf Editor - org - gnome - settings-daemon - plugins - background - check 'active' However, this is quite tedious (and should happen automatically when desktop icons are hidden with Unity Tweak Tool) to do manually if you want to hide/show the desktop icons temporarily (for example during a presentation). [Bug 1181983] [NEW] Update to 1.2.3-0ubuntu2.1: Broken / Greeter won't start
Public bug reported: Hi, I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.2 with Gnome Classic / Gnome Panel and LightDM + Unity Greeter on AMD64. The recent update of LightDM from 1.2.3-0ubuntu2 to 1.2.3-0ubuntu2.1 left me with a command line login prompt after boot. It turned out that LightDM will start neither Unity-Greeter nor LightDM-Gtk-Greeter. I still can manually start X and then Gnome-Panel but the desktop behaviour is not without errors. I had to remove both lightdm_1.2.3-0ubuntu2.1 and liblightdm- gobject-1-0_1.2.3-0ubuntu2.1 and replace the packages by the previous versions (2 instead of 2.1), which restored full login and desktop funtionality. I have the same problem on an eeePC 1215N, Ubuntu 13.04 32 bits. I found a workaround to get maximum brightness back: sudo setpci -s 00:02.0 f4.b=ff It resets the maximum brightness to maximum. Re: [Bug 1181106] Re: Failed to change profile to A2DP in 13.04 (Raring)
I'm not really certain of the source by any means. My statement about strongly doubting it was with bluez was based on general observations, not an understanding of the code or how it works, so please don't base any decisions on what I said. It seems to me that the developers of both projects ought to take a look at the report and figure out who should fix what. Why not tag the issue with both and see how it shakes out? [Bug 1026254] Re: Open with on folders was removed, Ubuntu should consider patching back
I completely agree with comments #9 and #11. I used to have 'musicbrainz picard' configured as an alternative app to open folders and would use that a lot. Now I have to open it from a terminal as the same effect is better done through select all in a folder. (comment in commit that removes this option) is obviously not true. Thanks @mc3man for the patch and the support (in ubuntuforums) on installing it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1026254 Title: Open with on folders was removed, Ubuntu should consider patching back To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1026254/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 734908] Re: Unity is visible on top of fullscreen apps
I can confirm. Ubuntu 12.04, Radeon graphics card, single monitor. In my case chromium was not affected and Eduards workaround described in bug 958353 works. Having 2 accounts logged simultaneously I removed buggy behaviour for both of them. However: In the first account in the same time when this bug appeared my launcher icon size (horizontal size) has changed and became bigger. It become smaller again after workaround. In the second account launcher icons stay bigger (it's ok for me). When applying workaround I had to type password blindly as Eduards described for the second account, but for the first account screen become black and a proper password window appeared. I have no idea what triggered this bug. After it appeared it was permanent in both accounts until now, I promise to play with it when it appears again. By the way, is it possible to change launcher icons size (intentionally)? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/734908 Title: Unity is visible on top of fullscreen apps To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/734908/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1182036] [NEW] Gtk filechooser hangs with Terminus font
Public bug reported: When I open a Save As dialog using Terminus as default system font, the dialog just hangs, becoming blank, and freezes the application (Firefox, Thunderbird, VirtualBox are examples).
