[Bug 894655] Re: Settings schema 'im.telepathy.MissionControl.FromEmpathy' is not installed
This is another papercut bug. Same over here after 11.10 upgrade (amd64). No offense at all and please dont take this personal: I know that the most of you guys only volunteer to make Ubuntu happen, but shouldn't quality be important than release quantity? This is probably the wrong place for such a discussion, but 11.10 really makes me sad. After ~8 years on the Linux desktop and approx. ~4 years of Ubuntu I'm really about to leave the Linux desktop behind me. Re: [Bug 509102] Re: dont detect cdrom in IBM HS21, ubuntu server 9.10
hi the behaviour you described could be related to the ibm cdrom drive. on ibm x3650 the serveraid bootable cds suffer from the same problem: the system boots, you can configure everything but when it wants to update the serveraid firmware it tells you couldnt read image files . if you burn the cd with 2x speed or use an external cdrom everything works as expected. maybe give it a try. best regards Jan Brinkmann Am 22.01.2010 um 22:42 schrieb bvidinli_ehcp bvidi...@gmail.com: And also I want to state that: Ubuntu is #1 Linux distribution in Desktop market. [Bug 509102] Re: dont detect cdrom in IBM HS21, ubuntu server 9.10
Thank you very much for reporting your problems. This helps to improve the quality of Ubuntu. However, there are a few informations needed: - Which version do you use: Ubuntu 9.10 i386 or amd64? - Which Install CD do you use?: alternate, server, desktop? I've just tested this in an Bladecenter E. I can boot the CD itself. However, there is a limitation with IBM CD-ROM drives which I've seen: - A possible reason (IBM related) could be that you've burned the CD with speed 2x . Newer IBM CD-ROM drives seem to have problems . There are other IBMs in the xseries which suffer from that problem, too. Try to burn the image with 2x. - Another idea: Is the KVM attached to the right blade? An ultimate way to find out if the ISO itself is the problem would it be to use the 'remote console' . You can add the ISO as 'remote drive'. If that works ok, it's probably an issue which isn't related to the install cds. ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New = Incomplete -- dont detect cdrom in IBM HS21, ubuntu server 9.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/509102 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

You should now see the Profile Manager window. Important note: From the Profile Manager you are also able to remove and rename profiles. Be very careful when deleting profiles, if you created the profile in a directory that already existed, the entire directory will be removed! Click on the 'Create Profile...' button to start the 'Create Profile Wizard'. Click 'Next' and enter a descriptive name for the new profile. Click Finish to have Firefox create the new profile. You should now be taken back to the Profile Manager and the newly created profile should be listed. Select it and click 'Start Firefox'. Try to reproduce the bug with this new profile. [Bug 312289] Re: impossible to read the flash animation
Thank you very much for the report. That really helps to improve Ubuntu! I can confirm this behaviour on Intrepid using Firefox 3.0.7 (3.0.7 +nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.10.1) and the flashplugin-nonfree 10.0.22.87ubuntu1~intrepid1 . Changed package to 'flashplugin-nonfree', since it also doesnt work using another browser (like seamonkey). Behaviour expected: - visit http://store.nike.com, select language and country and then start surfing on the main page (with the main flash animation displayed!). Current behaviour: - the navigation on the left starts correctly, but the main flash animation (the main content) , doesnt load. instead, the main part of the page stays grey. ** Changed in: flashplugin-nonfree (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: firefox-3.0 = flashplugin-nonfree Status: New = Confirmed ** Summary changed: - impossible to read the flash animation + Main flash animation on store.nike.com doesn't work/load -- Main flash animation on store.nike.com doesn't work/load https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/312289 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 251649] Re: Firefox: Address line does not work
Thank you very much for the feedback. As stated in the last comment (by Alexander Sack), try to disable the extensions. A comfortable way to test if that works, could it be to use a new profile for this: Start Firefox by entering the following command is a terminal: firefox -ProfileManager. Note: you can go back to your own profile by starting Firefox using the command firefox -ProfileManager again, selecting your own profile, and clicking on 'Start Firefox'. ** Changed in: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- Firefox: Address line does not work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/251649 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and trying to help make Ubuntu better. However, it seems that you are not using a software package provided by the official Ubuntu repositories. Because of this the Ubuntu project can not support or fix your particular bug. Please report this bug to the provider of the software package. Thanks!
