[Bug 1728651] Re: System hangs after iwlwifi firmware crash
I'm now on 4.16.3 kernel, and while I haven't encountered freeze since moving to 4.15.13+, the WiFi connection becomes slow/unstable after few minutes. I'm not sure this is connected to the same part of code, or my HW meanwhile degraded a bit (did the 4.4 kernel work without a hitch? I may try to boot it for few days to see if it's HW issue, or still regression in kernel and wifi card driver). At this moment this is just a disclaimer to my post above, to make people not expect everything works perfectly after update of kernel, YMMV. For me it at least doesn't freeze any more. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1728651 Title: System hangs after iwlwifi firmware crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/+bug/1728651/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1728651] Re: System hangs after iwlwifi firmware crash
I did switch to mainline kernel 4.15.13 about 10 days back, and so far no single freeze happened. I did use this web page for instructions/etc: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds I'm on KDE Neon distro, which is basically Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (with latests KDE packages on top of it). This was very annoying period of time (full 3 months?) on the 4.13 kernel with freezing at least 2-3 times per week, I wonder if there's not large enough portion of users affected to check if the update of kernel for ordinary users can be accelerated?
[Bug 456359] Re: [needs-packaging] Create package: Ultimate++
There's this PPA for few years providing Ubuntu (nightly) builds: https://launchpad.net/~dolik-rce/+archive/ubuntu/upp The owner of the PPA did quite some work to make the packaging process a bit closer to other SW, but still an review from experienced packager to check quality of packaging and build processes would be welcome for sure (if feedback is posted at U++ forum, the developers will try to improve what is possible). (but take into consideration this is whole stand- alone C++ framework + GUI library with it's own perks like custom build system, so the building+packaging process may look a bit complex at first) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/456359 Title: [needs-packaging] Create package: Ultimate++ To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/getdeb.net/+bug/456359/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1521173] Re: AER: Corrected error received: id=00e0
I'm slightly affected, or maybe actually my kernel is "fixed" to correctly clear the error report even when device is not found internally (referring to the #27 brief analysis), as I do see the AER error in dmesg, periodically showing up, but only about once per couple of minutes. It's still beyond being acceptable for me, so I used the "pci=noaer" workaround, which stops the messages appearing. [Bug 1068404] Re: Low graphics mode in muxless hybrid ATI/Intel GPU systems after fglrx upgrade
@Nick: I haven't tried fglrx with xorg-edgers, only default xorg-video-intel + xorg-video-ati, as the synaptics (touchpad and some keyboard stuff too on my notebook) keeps crashing, I was too lazy to try anything more. But it boots into X, just as original repository version, so the intel+ati works at least as good as Ubuntu quantal. BTW, after all those experiments on my kubuntu 12.10 install I suddenly got working GLX with intel+ati. (history of my OS install: 12.04 clean install - desktop works + fglrx from Ubuntu repos - 3D games works on ATI, desktop works * upgrade of distro to 12.10 -> blank screen, several hours of trying to recall all the xorg stuff and find out what works - ending with intel + ati open source drivers, desktop shows, no GLX working * trying out different things, including - Nick's PPA (intel + fglrx = blank screen, intel + ati = blank screen) - xorg-edgers (intel+ati = desktop works, no GLX) - purging xorg-edgers PPA, reverting to default Ubuntu intel+ati, where desktop works, and was "no GLX" before, now all of sudden the GLX started to work without warning. with glxinfo I now get: "... | direct rendering: Yes | server glx vendor string: SGI | server glx version string: 1.4 | ... OpenGL vendor string: Intel Open Source Technology Center OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) Sandybridge Mobile OpenGL version string: 3.0 Mesa 9.0 OpenGL shading language version string: 1.30 ..." By the "no GLX" situations before I did mean situation, where the OS boots up into X, I can log in, desktop works, but I can't run any 3D game, usually ending with some GLX specifix error, which I didn't bother to save, but something along unsupported feature number #x IIRC. I have muxless HW (no HW switch for VGA, and when I install fglrx from Ubuntu repos, I get blank screen and log/xorg contains that weird "(EE) this is a Muxless PX A+I platform, we doesn't supported it". I didn't have yet time to look into it, if I could find the difference. Maybe I left the ATI card still switched off in BIOS, so the Intel GLX works for me now? I know it's "just one reboot" away to figure out, but right now.. not. Summary: no working fglrx for me (any tested combination ends with blank screen) intel+ati (ubuntu, xorg edgers): desktop works, now on ubuntu ones even GLX on Intel works (no idea, why/how it got fixed, maybe disabled ATI by BIOS, or reinstall of some core mesa packaged during xorg edgers ppa purge) intel+ati (nick's PPA): crash in X as mentioned in #100 (this is different crash, not similar to intel+fglrx, which does crash in other stage of loading drivers) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1068404 Title: Low graphics mode in muxless hybrid ATI/Intel GPU systems after fglrx upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1068404/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

intel-video from xorg-edgers PPA works well too (kernel 3.7.0, etc.. whole PPA), so the only crashing intel-video driver is from Nick's PPA. I thought only some removal of obsolete code was reverted on that one, so how comes it doesn't work? :) Anyway, I didn't got further in the bruise lee advice, because with xorg-edgers PPA I get crash in xorg synapticsxfg, which makes a bit annoying to use the notebook (some keys don't work, and touchpad is unconfigured), will try it later when touchpad works or when I will have truck loads of patience for crippled inputs, and report here about fglrx. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1068404 Title: Low graphics mode in Hybrid ATI/Intel GPU systems after fglrx upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1068404/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Testing Kubuntu 10.04 RC (386 desktop CD image), live session behaviour: driver [OK] KDE4 system settings - Display: default: cloned view [OK ? I would prefer dual view, but cloned is probably more safe for live session.] after changing position of the secondary output from cloned to "Right of" and clicking Apply, it doesn't set up. From the #362061: "I am able to set a big desktop in gnome using the same driver" If that would be the case, I would be able to configure it by hand trough xorg.conf and xrandr, right? I think #362061 is UI KDE4 bug, while my problem is somewhere between driver, xrandr and xorg. -- Kubuntu 9.04 + Radeon X1300 - No dual monitor option in system settings (dual-head) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367776 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase-workspace in ubuntu (via bug 362061). -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

BTW: Installing *fglrx* packages is deadly in this case, after reboot there's black screen in graphics mode with some sparse color dots in top area and system does completely freeze, not even Ctrl+Alt+Del works. (sort of expected, as fglrx should not work with my X1300 card and new xorg, still the way how it does not work is ugly .. and probably dangerous for ordinary user, he would have very hard time to recover) -- Kubuntu 9.04 + Radeon X1300 - No dual monitor option in system settings (dual-head) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367776 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 367776] Re: Kubuntu 9.04 + Radeon X1300 - No dual monitor option in system settings (dual-head)
I did change xorg.conf for bigger virtual resolution, now the xrandr doesn't complain about small screen, but I run into different problem. Almost everything I ask xrandr to do with one output, it does it with both of them. Here are some examples and additional information about xrandr: xrandr -v Server reports RandR version 1.3 xrandr -q Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1280 x 1024, maximum 2560 x 1024 VGA-0 connected 1280x1024+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 376mm x 301mm 1280x1024 60.0*+ 75.0 72.0 60.0* ... some more modes ... DVI-0 connected 1280x1024+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 376mm x 301mm 1280x1024 60.0*+ 75.0 72.0 60.0* ... some more modes ... xrandr --verbose --output DVI-0 --pos 200x0 screen 0: 1480x1024 432x298 mm 86.99dpi crtc 0:1280x1024 60.0 +200+0 "DVI-0" "VGA-0" * does move BOTH screens right by 200px xrandr --verbose --output DVI-0 --off crtc 0:1280x1024 60.0 +0+0 "VGA-0" * the single command which actually works only at desired output, and NOT at both, this one does switch the LCD at right off, and the LCD at left remains ON Any other variation trying to set VGA-0 and DVI-0 to have correct mode+position to cover whole virtual screen leads to both LCD show either left or right portion of virtual screen, but always the same one, i.e. cloned view. Final puzzling bit of information for me: xrandr --verbose -q Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1280 x 1024, maximum 2560 x 1024 VGA-0 connected 1280x1024+0+0 (0x4d) normal (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 376mm x 301mm Identifier: 0x4b Timestamp: 438515 Subpixel: no subpixels Clones: DVI-0 CRTC: 0 CRTCs: 0 1 ... rest (panning and stuff, transform, EDID_DATA, list of modes) is very likely not interesting in this case... DVI-0 connected 1280x1024+0+0 (0x4d) normal (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 376mm x 301mm Identifier: 0x4c Timestamp: 438515 Subpixel: no subpixels Clones: VGA-0 CRTC: 0 CRTCs: 0 1 ... * the puzzling bit is "Clones:" line. This doesn't sound right. After xrandr --output DVI-0 --pos 200x0 the verbose query reveals: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1480 x 1024, maximum 2560 x 1024 VGA-0 connected 1280x1024+200+0 (0x4d) normal (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 376mm x 301mm Identifier: 0x4b Timestamp: 438515 Subpixel: no subpixels Clones: DVI-0 CRTC: 0 CRTCs: 0 1 Panning:0x0+0+0 Tracking: 0x0+0+0 Border: 0/0/0/0 ... DVI-0 connected 1280x1024+200+0 (0x4d) normal (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 376mm x 301mm Identifier: 0x4c Timestamp: 438515 Subpixel: no subpixels Clones: VGA-0 CRTC: 0 CRTCs: 0 1 Panning:0x0+0+0 Tracking: 0x0+0+0 Border: 0/0/0/0 IMHO the driver is forcing both outputs to be clone of each other and requires either further xorg.conf options (maybe definitions of two devices like in good old times when everything worked after 5min of configuration trough script), or it does not support dual head at all (???). I'm adding my current xorg.conf which was used when testing xrandr. ** Attachment added: "xorg.conf" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26123321/xorg.conf -- Kubuntu 9.04 + Radeon X1300 - No dual monitor option in system settings (dual-head) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367776 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 367776] Re: Kubuntu 9.04 + Radeon X1300 - No dual monitor option in system settings (dual-head)
The xorg.conf is without any change, just like the Kubuntu 9.04 install process created it. I'm discussing this problem at forums too, I have found one similar thread at: http://phoronix.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16460 The suggested 'xrandr --output DVI-0 --right-of VGA-0 --auto' leads to: xrandr: screen cannot be larger than 1280x1280 (desired size 2560x1024) (I think I will have to edit xorg.conf to get bigger virtual resolution to make xrandr to work, I will look into it soon) Another interesting note from that thread related to this bug is: "... KDE4 seems to remember the configuration so you just need to configure it once. And BTW if you open Display Settings it will revert to cloning" So even if xrandr workaround will work, it would be still nice to get Display settings fixed anyway. -- Kubuntu 9.04 + Radeon X1300 - No dual monitor option in system settings (dual-head) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367776 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 367776] [NEW] Kubuntu 9.04 + Radeon X1300 - No dual monitor option in system settings (dual-head)
Public bug reported: I have dual head ATI Radeon X1300 card with two LCDs, before 9.04 there was always proprietary driver offered after installation (fglrx), which did work well with dual head. With 9.04 there's no proprietary driver (and according to http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1123631 there never will be), so I'm probably stuck to OSS drivers, which is actually a change I like (I don't miss the 3D performance most of the time I use this PC). But I'm also without any dual head support in system settings (I have still to do research if it's possible to tweak it at least trough command line), which renders the Kubuntu 9.04 practically unusable for me. This is critical missing feature for me, just as same as missing keyboard or having no graphics display at all. (I know 1 LCD is better then 0 factually, but in the end it's same, at least in this particular case for me) ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Kubuntu 9.04 + Radeon X1300 - No dual monitor option in system settings (dual-head) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367776 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 364033] [NEW] Konqueror 3.5.10: "system:/media/" displays HDDs with too little information
Public bug reported: I'm trying liveCD RC1 of Kubuntu 9.04 KDE3 remix ( https://wiki.kubuntu.org/Kubuntu/Kde3/Jaunty ). When I use system menu to access "Storage Media", it opens Konqueror with "system:/media/" path. There I'm provided with listing of my HDD partitions (and other medias) going like this: [hdd] 104G Media [hdd] 31G Media [hdd] 31G Media [hdd] 55G Media [hdd] 93G Media [hdd] 98M Media [floppy] Floppy Drive [cd] Kubuntu 9.04 KDE3.5 i386 RC1 As you can see, I'm unable to tell which hdd belongs to which partition ( /dev/sdaX | /dev/sdbX ) nor label or filesystem of them. Although I can check filesystems at properties window, but still no idea which /dev/ belongs to it. After going inside some partition (i.e. mounting it) I finally can see which /dev/ it belongs to in address box, but that's IMHO too late? I think this information should be either part of HDD name, or it should be visible at least in tooltip/properties window. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Konqueror 3.5.10: "system:/media/" displays HDDs with too little information https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/364033 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 296664] Re: No sound output/input TEST in system setting
I think you don't understand what the actual bug is. My sound is working correctly (I tested it in different applications), but I'm missing a simple "test" in the system settings, so I can't test the sound directly after OS installation or after change of sound settings. To test sounds I have to install/run different applications and search for some sound files, etc. The KDE3.5 and many other OS do have a "test" directly in sound settings panel, so you can easily test every new setting, or check the sound right after OS installation. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- No sound output/input TEST in system setting https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/296664 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 296670] [NEW] No easy way to install new Kubuntu into already existing grub
Public bug reported: I have at home already Kubuntu 6.10 and 7.04 installed, each of them on their own ext3 partition with shared ext3 "/home" partition. I have the graphical grub at /boot/grub at Kubuntu 6.10 partition. I tried to install Kubuntu 8.10 there, but from previous experience I think it will either overwrite the bootloader completely, i.e. making the grub from /boot of Kubuntu 8.10 partition (another one) active, or when I check off the setting in "advanced" options of installer, it will not touch the active grub at 6.10 partition at all, leaving me with installed system without boot setup. As I'm not grub guru, by editing the menu.lst by hand and adding the partition/files of 8.10 I got into situation when booting up 8.10 brings some early error message about vmlinuz file missing? (I didn't had time to write down the error message, and it's not related to this wish anyway). So I would appreciate a simple way in installer to (while installing new kubuntu at new partition) add the new Kubuntu into already existing grub at different partition (which should be left intact in any other way, just the /boot + /boot/grub files updated). ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- No easy way to install new Kubuntu into already existing grub https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/296670 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 218609] Re: KMix Left/right slider moves Master volume down
Kubuntu 8.10 live CD session update: - the System settings does not have anymore any sound test, unless I'm blind? Just some "Sound" settings to list devices. - used Amarok to play some default sample which is included - the simple volume in tray works ok, changing volume up and down. - when I hit "mixer" button, I do get the mixer settings with two (!!) "front" sliders, both of them affecting the volume together (!). So if I set the one of them to 0%, the sound is off, it looks like they multiply each other. - there's no left/right slider anymore anywhere. -- KMix Left/right slider moves Master volume down https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/218609 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdemultimedia in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

The attached logs are from Kubuntu 8.10 live CD. Sorry for the change, but you asked too late, don't have 8.04 live CD around, and anyway I think it's better to stay current. The behavior of 8.10 is same, it starts up in "clone" mode. Yet there's bonus behavior, the Xorg log file keeps growing, I did add the "diff" file with what gets added probably every 5s or so. [Bug 254899] [NEW] Typing part of file name into editable navigation bar does not give list of pontetional candidates (like in konqueror)
Public bug reported: OS: Kubuntu 8.04.1, KDE3.5.9 I was used in Kubuntu 6.10 to put the flash disk into PC, open it's content in new window (konqueror has been used for that), and type into navigation bar the start of name I was looking for (as I have like 200-300 files in one of the folders, and I always know exact name of file I want to open this time). With 8.04.1 the flash disk content is opened in Dolphin. Dolphin by default does not show navigation bar at all, just some fancy useless graphics thingy, so I did switch the editable bar in options. Now I can type the file name, but no options from current directory are shown. When I run konqueror as file manager, it works as expected, so I will "fix" this problem by setting konqueror instead of Dolphin. (and I know the Dolphin for KDE3 is sort of experimental stuff without future and development, but then I wonder why it was ever included as default file manager for KDE3 users) I think this is probably more "Wish", than "bug", although from my point of view this is regression. ** Affects: dolphin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: dolphin (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: None => dolphin -- Typing part of file name into editable navigation bar does not give list of pontetional candidates (like in konqueror) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/254899 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 175909] Re: Administrator button fails to work in kde-settings and kcontrol
I have been toying around with the live session of Hardy pre-RC a bit more and I noticed this (steps to reproduce it): 1) I boot live CD 2) ps aux | grep dcopserver leads to: "ubuntu dcopserver [kdeinit] --nosid" Scenario 1 (bug): 3) I go into System Settings, go into Monitor & Display settings, hit the Administrator Mode button. The red rectangle shows for a short while, than it gets back no non-administrator display. 4) RMB on KNetwork manager in tray and choosing "Manual Config" leads to big error dialog: DCOP communications error There was an error setting up inter-process communications for KDE ..cut.. message: Authentication Rejected, reason: None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed ...cut.. (something like make sure dcopserver is running) 5) ps aux | grep dcopserver leads to: ubuntu dcopserver [kdeinit] --nosid root dcopserver [kdeinit] --n Scenario 2 (ok): 3) RMB on KNetwork manager icon in tray and choosing "Manual Config" -> the network configuration dialog is shown with working Administration rights, so I can change setup. 4) System Settings -> Monitor & Display -> Administrator Mode -> leads to working administrator mode with the "red rectangle" dialog, and I can change settings 5) ps aux | grep dcopserver leads to (same output like in Scenario 1 as far as I can tell, unless my eyes are fooling me): ubuntu dcopserver [kdeinit] --nosid root dcopserver [kdeinit] --n (all outputs/messages have been written down to paper firstly and than retyped, so of course the 5th step output here is identical, it's C'n'P, but you will have to believe me it was really the same) So basically the only difference between bug or working is whether the administrator authentication is called from KNetwork (works) or from System Settings (fails). (ok) I hit the volume icon in tray, I choose "mixer" option, the KMix window does open. (ok) The first column slider is Master Volume, works as expected (ok) At the bottom there's horizontal Left/Right balance slider with "HDA Intel" label next to it, this one does NOT change the left/right balance, and also it brings the master volume slider down fast (and the real volume of sound gets down too). (bug) Testing the same thing in installed Kubuntu 7.10: everything works as expected, the L/R slider moves the balance left/right, the overall volume is not changed. (although I don't see the master volume slider at all in 7.10's KMix) ** Affects: kdemultimedia (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- KMix Left/right slider moves Master volume down https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/218609 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 175909] Re: Administrator button fails to work in kde-settings and kcontrol
In my current Kubuntu 7.10 installation my /etc/hosts contains: 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.1.1 somehostname But I have no problem to use Aministrator Mode in System Settings or kcontrol. But! Testing Hardy (Kubuntu Desktop i386 (20080417.1)) in live session (not installed) I can't turn the Administrator mode on. When I click it, the red box is shown for a short while and the content of it starts to update, but then the System Settings return to previous state without administrator rights. It prevents me from configuring network during live session. -- Administrator button fails to work in kde-settings and kcontrol https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/175909 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Team, which is subscribed to kde-systemsettings in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 79321] Re: early "manage repositories" will exit adept
The manage repositories is now completely different in Feisty, so far I was unable to reproduce it there (tried just two times IIRC, most of the time I'm in 6.10 so I can't test it). I think you may close this unless somebody wants to fix it for 6.10. -- early "manage repositories" will exit adept https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/79321 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Team, which is a bug contact for adept in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 79321] early "manage repositories" will exit adept
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: adept When I run adept and I hit View/Manage repositories during "Loading, please wait...", the adept does exit abruptly without any message. I know I should wait when the SW asks me to, but I think this is sloppy SW design, the menu should either work, or be disabled during loading, or the menu action should be pending till it's possible to execute it. ** Affects: adept (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- early "manage repositories" will exit adept https://launchpad.net/bugs/79321 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 75543] Re: crash after paste, reproducible always (for me)
Can't find any other application crashing gaim in the same way. I'm not sure how to find same text widget, but IMHO for example in system settings the Search box is probably the same widget. (no crash) Copy from Kate (text editor) works OK too, both copy, and copy as HTML. Copy from gnome(?) "calculator" is OK too. Maybe some SpeedCrunch creator can have idea what's so special about "Copy result". (I'm not using gaim, I was just trying it out with my common way what I need from IM when I hit the crash. I tried some more [both KDE and non KDE] applications now (konqueror, text boxes from system settings, calculator, Kate, firefox, OpenOffice), and no more crashes, only from SpeedCrunch.) So I'm afraid I can't help you any more. Still you may also check the report about "empty paste" crash, that one looks very very similar to this, and also the "length = 0" sounds like it may be related. #49691 but it looks like it's not reproducible anymore. -- crash after paste, reproducible always (for me) https://launchpad.net/bugs/75543 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 75543] Re: crash after paste, reproducible always (for me)
Going wild in ideas (no facts involved): I saw a bug (maybe closed one?) about crash with "empty" paste, I think these two may be related. And some facts at last: BTW, did you notice it's about Paste of result from SpeedCrunch? It's important, because when I just select text from this page, I can paste it into gaim without crash. Other way around I can paste result from SpeedCrunch into kopete (both in Gnome and in KDE), so maybe SpeedCrunch does put some weird data on clipboard which gaim can't handle, but kopete can. Can somebody try it with SpeedCrunch (default kubuntu calculator), if it's still my box only? Xorg Input device errors: I saw something about wacom in my xorg.conf, but I don't use any tablet .. I'm not so experienced with linux to nail it down immediately, but I will investigate eventually how to get rid of those messages in correct way. But I think it may be connected to non-existent wacom tablet defined. And maybe not. Those 2 XOrg errors are shown every time I run and X app, it's not gaim-only. -- crash after paste, reproducible always (for me) https://launchpad.net/bugs/75543 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 75543] Re: crash after paste, reproducible always (for me)
Doesn't it crash elsewhere too, just my box? I don't use other protocols. Tried IRC as I know it well, same crash on first try. [Bug 75543] crash after paste, reproducible always (for me)
