[Bug 1863282] Re: libreoffice menu bar disappeared
In my case (see comment #4 above) it turned out that the lack of menu was caused by unnecessary presence of indicator-applet-appmenu in my GNOME panel. [Bug 1889471] [NEW] After some recent update, GNOME Tweaks titlebar is distorted
Public bug reported: In Ubuntu 20.04, after some recent software update (sorry, I don't know which one exactly), the titlebar of GNOME Tweaks application looks distorted, as on the screenshot below (note the grey bars on the left of sidebar's header and between sidebar's and main pane's headers): https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome- tweaks/uploads/3fc56b8bbc3f390ea8bc0be93d46d3e1/Zrzut_ekranu_z_2020-07-18_23-05-51.png After I resize the window to make the sidebar disappear, and then resize it back to previous size, the window looks again as it looked previously (no extra grey bars): https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome- tweaks/uploads/5643387a7e3a54379f0211b99149f006/Zrzut_ekranu_z_2020-07-18_23-06-48.png (by the way, note that GNOME Screenshot application in Alt+PrtSc mode did not capture the whole window and left a transparent part on the right, despite the fact that window is correctly displayed in full, as you can see on the screenshot of entire screen - so something's definitely wrong with that window): https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME /gnome- tweaks/uploads/55715b42f1f24bf8640a6fcad3a73907/Zrzut_ekranu_z_2020-07-18_23-08-00.png After closing and re-opening the application it looks incorrect again, as in the first screenshot. The screenshots are shown for default Yaru theme, but the same happens for every theme. This issue occurs under Compiz, does not occur under Metacity (I'm using GNOME Flashback desktop). It did not occur a few weeks ago. I created a new user to check if something in my config isn't causing the issue - it occurs on a new user account as well. ** Affects: gnome-tweaks (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1889471 Title: After some recent update, GNOME Tweaks titlebar is distorted To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-tweaks/+bug/1889471/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1883423] Re: no menu bar in LibreOffice
That actually helped! Thank you! So now the issue is whether the indicator-appmenu applet is present in panel by default (in that case it's actually a bug, it shouldn't be there) or I accidentally put it there when I was reconfiguring the panel... [Bug 1883423] Re: no menu bar in LibreOffice
Kind of - that puts the application menu on the GNOME top panel, and not where it should be, in application window under the title bar (see screenshot: http://rafa.eu.org/share/public/bamfdaemon2.png ). However, it's acceptable as workaround until the bug is properly fixed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1883423 Title: no menu bar in LibreOffice To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1883423/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1863282] Re: libreoffice menu bar disappeared
Have the same issue, however not on KDE, but on GNOME Flashback in 20.04 (on GNOME shell, the menu is present). Filed a separate bug (#1883423) - can be probably merged. Similarly as in comments above, uninstalling libreoffice-gtk3 package brings the menu back, but it's an ugly "raw" X11 style menu - it loses all the GNOME styling. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1863282 Title: libreoffice menu bar disappeared To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1863282/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1883423] [NEW] no menu bar in LibreOffice
Public bug reported: In Ubuntu 20.04 with GNOME Flashback session, the top menu bar (File, View etc.) is not present in LibreOffice applications (in regular GNOME Shell, the menu is present OK). [Bug 827080] [NEW] System Freeze Every Start-Up
Public bug reported: Every Start-Up of Ubuntu Maverick Meerkat (10.10) on my Toshiba Satellite Laptop, the whole system freezes a few minutes after Logging in. Re: [Bug 451660] Re: netbook-launcher crashed with SIGSEGV in g_signal_emit_valist()
Dear friend: It just happened to me one time and I am not aware of the possible causes. The only think I can tell you is that it happened to me on a Packard Bell Dot_S netbook after upgrading to the beta version of Karmic. It is remarkable that the netbook desktop change is not working properly since that upgrade. Panel applets disappear at random and, when in typical desktop mode, maximized windows seem to have lost the upper right corner icons. Hope this will be solved in a few days. Wonderful O.S. anyway!!! RE: [Bug 374291] Re: firefox 3.0.10 does not reload the previous session tabs and windows despite checking it in Preferences
Hi. I´m sorry to be so slow in the feedback. Thanks for your advice, although I still haven´t tried to solve the problem with the link that you have provided me -too much work to concentrate in it-, so I´m still using a somehow rude method to "restore" the tabs: selecting the most usefull locations in the history and selecting "open all in tabs" by the menu key. But I could read partially the info that was showed there and maybe the problem is related with some of the extensions or complements -it sounds rare, because I prefer put them to my bike more than redecorating my firefox and I hadn´t this kind of problems before-. Well, I´ll try changing the profile to default and uninstalling extensions and complements, but probably I won´t do it until weekend. Only one question: What kind of complementary info do you need? I thought that the files created by the bug reporter app were enough. One more time, thanks for your advice , and I´ll try to improve the feedback. Re: [Bug 291645] Re: usb-creator crashed with AttributeError in shutdown()
Hello!! I'm still fighting with that problem... How you did it? Just trying from already installed Ubuntu instead of LiveCD? or you did something to the pendrive itself (formated with gparted or fdisk). Mine is just 1Gb, maybe it's part of the problem, but seems that it should work... Any help will be welcome, for me this is the most important and useful new feature in Ubuntu 8.10 by far!!! Thanks in advance! Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I synchronize my Pidgin contacts with my Evolution contacts address agenda. They appears on Evolution contacts but when I open a new email, Evolution do not recognize any email contact! I think that bug is due to the mismatch between Pidgin email field and Evolution email field. Pidgin mapped email contact on Evolution IM messaging field and not on the e-mail field. [Bug 84880] Re: firefox uploads files with wrong mimetype
I confirm the issue of wrong MIME type being sent by firefox. I'm currently setting up an intranet server for a research group. I have installed a PDF manager (Librarian) and am currently trying to populate the database. Upon the upload of the PDF files, I was getting an error message for incorrect MIME type of the files. I hacked the php code to find out what the sent MIME type was, and got: application/binary instead of the expected application/pdf. This results in the file not being recognized by the program as a PDF, thus failure to upload on the site. At first I thought it was a problem with my php.ini configuration, and tweaked all I could find on the matter without results. Then I came across this bug description and actually confirmed that it is likely to be a firefox issue, and not an apache2/php/pdf or whatnot. The PDF files upload without the shadow of a problem using konqueror. My server configuration is: Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn i386 Apache2 PHP5 Librarian PDF manager (http://bioinformatics.org/librarian/) My client: Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn i386 The web browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20061201 Firefox/2.0.0.3 (Ubuntu-feisty) All PDF files tested came up with the wrong MIME using firefox, none have yet given me problems using konqueror. For many required to submit their work by uploading PDF files on servers that use MIME type control, this issue might be more than an annoyance. -- firefox uploads files with wrong mimetype https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/84880 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 95282] Re: wireless network device not detected
The first time I didn't even try to complete the installation when I saw the message of the 'network card not detected'. I have now completed the installation, and I am able to configure the network card then. However, the name of the card is now wlan0. Its name in previous ubuntu versions was eth0 (as in any other distro I have in my box), and in dapper and edgy it changed to eth1 (don't know why). This causes problems in the installation process, you can't download language support in that moment, it has to be made afterwards, once ubuntu is installed. Think of people who don't even understand written English! I am attaching the logs as suggested.
