[Bug 451176] Re: downloaded podcasts episodes disappear from list
I've managed to work out what triggers this bug, if you have selected the Watch my library for new files option in the Music tab of the preferences dialog AND you download podcasts into the folder (or sub folder) of the one being watched then the podcasts disappear from the feed window. For example, I watch the folder /home/steve/Music and store my podcasts in /home/steve/Music/Podcasts This gives two workarounds for now, 1) Leave the podcasts where they are, but uncheck the Watch my library for new files option. 2) Move the podcasts to a folder which is not being watched I have chosen to move my podcasts to /home/steve/Podcasts and no longer see this problem. Could the original submitter (or anyone else seeing this problem) confirm my workarounds? Hopefully someone can now recreate this bug and try to find a proper solution. -- downloaded podcasts episodes disappear from list https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/451176 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 279287] Re: [intrepid] NetworkManager 0.7 hangs system
After having done some research I'm now sure that this hang is due to the acx wireless driver and the fact that it does not support WPA. I can use NetworkManager if I blacklist this driver in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist and use a wired connection instead. The worrying thing for Ubuntu is that this bug exists on the release candidate CD, the CD will not start at all if an acx111 based wireless card is present on the system. This would obviously preclude a number of users from installing and trying Intrepid. There are two ways to fix this issue, either blacklist the acx driver by default, or if the acx driver is present disable NetworkManager. In the long term the acx driver needs to add support for WPA, but I can't tell if the project is still being worked on. In the absence of any update to this driver NetworkManager should not enable WPA support by default for acx111 based cards. I would hope that resolving this issue would be a priority for the Ubuntu team as it would put off new users from converting to Linux and will leave current users unable to upgrade. I look forward to hearing your response to these comments. -- [intrepid] NetworkManager 0.7 hangs system https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279287 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 279287] Re: [intrepid] NetworkManager 0.7 hangs system
Hello again, attached is a photo of the output to the console after I issue the command to start network manager in no daemon mode, there is no output at all if I start it as a service. Alt+SysRq+t and Alt+SysRq+p gave no results. Unfortunately I can't do this on a tty as all are blank except for a blinking cursor, they are actually alive and I can log into them and echo text to a file to test, but I never get anything actually shown on the screen, even setupcon doesn't work.
