[Bug 1309744] [NEW] Light Locker blanks the screen when playing video

2014-04-18 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

On XUbuntu, the new Light Locker puts the screen black when playing
video as if there was no activity.

That is supposed to happen when the user is away from keyboard but in the case
of playing a video, no mouse or keyboard activity may be registered for two
hours and still the screen must remain active.
This didn't happen with the old screen saver.

This applies to both and VLC and Parole.

[Bug 1227174] [NEW] Window List Applet does not show windows from the monitor it belongs to

2013-09-18 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

The task list applet that shows the opened windows can be configured to
show windows from all monitors. When disabled, it does not as expected.

It is supposed to show only the windows on the monitor the applet is in.
Instead, shows the windows from the first monitor.

To reproduce:
- Set up a multi monitor desktop with two monitors.
- Put a panel with a Window List applet in each of the monitors.
- Disable the option to show windows from all desktops (which is enabled by
default).
Try opening, closing or moving some windows.
It will work the first time but will fail everytime after reboot, making the
window list in the secondary monitor show the windows in the primary.

The problem disappears if the user enables and disables this option
after each login.

[Bug 1124632] Re: Backspace key does not work anymore.

2013-03-02 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
The new keyboard shortcut for this is Alt-Up.
Alt-Up browses to the parent directory just like Backspace used to do.

I don't like it but doesn't make it a bug.
I found this out by accident, a hint should be good for everyone when the
backspace is pressed, or even better, make the Backspace key work as it used to
before.

[Bug 1129353] [NEW] doesn't play after a few played files

2013-02-18 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

After startup Rhytmbox plays mp3s normally.
But then, after a few songs played it no longer plays music even if I skip to
another song, press play again, etc.

When it gets stuck it notifies the song is being played but the song
does not play and the timer does not advance.

This actually applies to the whole system: If Rhythmbox gets stuck and
no longer plays mp3 files, totem will not play either.

[Bug 1129353] Re: doesn't play after a few played files

2013-02-18 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
I believe I have corrupted files that produce this.
Corrupted files are expected to be skipped instead of disabling the system's
playback capability for the rest of the session.
I'll scan my music library looking for those files and maybe share them if
someone is interested.

[Bug 1124632] [NEW] Backspace key does not work anymore.

2013-02-13 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

In previous versions of nautilus (the one shipped in 12.10),
In the file list, pressing the backspace in the keyboard browses to the upper
directory in the tree.
For instance if you're in /home/me and press backspace, you go to /home

[Bug 1112066] [NEW] Ripping: Specifying the Album artist does not copy it to all tracks

2013-01-31 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

to reproduce:
- Insert a CD that is not detected by musicbrainz service. All tracks are
Unknown Artist Track 01 and such.
- Specify the Album Genre (you'll notice the genre is applied to all tracks).
- Specify the Album Artist.

what is expected:
- The artist name is applied to all tracks that don't have an artist specified,
just like genre.

what actually happens:
- Nothing: artist is not updated, forcing the user to add it manually.

I hope this one is easy to fix, though not a critical bug.

[Bug 1058669] Re: htmlentities returns nothing

2012-10-19 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Expected or not, it does not work as before, then it does not work as expected,
therefore it is a bug. And a valid one.
I cannot imagine a case where the expected returned value of a function is an
empty string. Maybe it should raise an error if the encoding was not specified.

I think this bug was hastily marked as invalid.

[Bug 1061321] [NEW] Switching windows with alt-tab leaves no window focused

2012-10-03 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

Pressing alt-tab to switch to the last window sometimes leaves no window
focused.
It may be because I have a slow computer (Celeron at 1.7Ghz) but about 30% of
the time when I switch window I end up with no window focused.

I believe it happens if alt is released just before the tab switcher is
appearing.

[Bug 1058669] [NEW] htmlentities returns nothing

2012-09-29 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

The html function returns an empty string or maybe null when a latin1
encoded string is provided.

?php
print htmlentities('bye'); //outputs 'bye'
print htmlentites('adiós'); //outputs nothing when it's supposed to return
'adioacute;s'
?

This happened in Ubuntu 12.10b2 32-bit, and it does not happen in ubuntu
12.04

For the moment, the solution is to specify the encoding:
? htmlentities('adiós', ENT_COMPAT, 'iso-8859-1'); //outputs 'adioacute;' as
expected

[Bug 1035872] [NEW] Icons are not added at the end for unpinned applications in the launcher

2012-08-12 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

On Unity, when I start an application that is not pinned to the
launcher, its icon does not appear at the end of the list as expected,
instead it pushes the last pinned icon down.

For instance, if the pinned icons are:
Firefox, Terminal, Nautilus.
After starting Rhythmbox it goes like:
Firefox, Terminal, Rhythmbox, Nautilus
When everyone would expect:
Firefox, Terminal, Nautilus, Firefox

Just in case it has something to do with it: I have configured the
launcher to hide mounted devices from the launcher.

2012-04-17 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t

There's a particular note that triggers the problem, after deleting it

Which one is the question. I deleted the notes that where not exported and
still. There was a note that had nothing in particular. After deleting it
export worked.

Maybe it has something to do with links?

[Bug 968272] [NEW] Passwords are too easy to steal

Public bug reported:

To get a remembered password in plain text all you have to do is open

[Bug 958633] [NEW] Copying files to a mobile device renames files to Artist/Album/TrackNo - Title even though settings say otherwise

2012-03-18 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

I have Rhytmbox configured to use Artist/Artist - Title as file and
folder hierarchy (Edit/Preferences/Music/whatever - i have the thing in
spanish).

However, when I plugin my android phone and copy some music to it by dragging

Isn't it supposed to copy to

[Bug 907135] [NEW] Rhythmbox crashes due to ReplayGain

2011-12-20 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

I recentrly used ReplayGain with QtGain(mp3gain) to make all my music sound
with the same volume.
Now I noticed my music collection is way smaller and even though the files are
there, they no longer appear in the music library.

Rhytmbox crashes if I go to settings and disable, then re-enable the
checkbox that searches for new files on the library ('Vigilar mi
fonoteca en busca de nuevos archivos' in spanish).

This is what happpens when I run rhytmbox from a terminal:

[Bug 884597] [NEW] search as you type not working properly

2011-11-01 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

Open a browser window, for example your home directory.
Make sure the files area has focus.
Type 'doc' to select the Documents folder; Documents is highlighted.
Pres Enter to open the Documents folder; the contents of your documents' folder
are shown.
Type the name of another file of older you can see to select it.
You'll notice that:
- the previous search is shown and whatever you type is appended to it.
- the backspace key does not delete characters in the search as you type
textbox, it moves to the upper folder instead.

[Bug 882366] [NEW] Title bar changes are not reflected immediately

2011-10-26 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

I saw this on gnome-terminal and nautilus: If the title bar changes, the
changes are not reflected on the titlebar.

For instance:
Open a terminal and go to the menu/Terminal/Set title.
Change the title.
You expect the new title to show but it does not.
If you maximize and restore the window, the new title will eventually show up.

Similar thing happens on Nautilus, open a folder, then move around your
folders: you will see the title bar does not show the current folder's
name, but the initial one.

[Bug 873787] Re: Banshee does not start

2011-10-14 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
To keep on using Banshee I uninstalled (purged) banshee and removed
configuration files in .config/banshee-1 and .gconf-something, then
reinstalled it and did not disable the many unnecessary plugins it
has.
I'd bet it's one of them what's causing this problem.

2011/10/14 Martin Liebmann 873...@bugs.launchpad.net:
I am experiencing a very similar problem. Banshee started once, after the
fresh setup of ubuntu 11.10. I designated my music location for banshee and
was able to play mp3s. Since that first start, banshee doe not start up
again, does not play music an produces error-messages as posted in the
attachment. The messages ahve been recieved using the bash command: banshee
 --debug.
I did not manually work in any configuration data or changed any settings
 within banshee.

I reported this bug not too long ago
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/743394 and the fix was released in the
  package indicator-datetime - 0.2.1-0ubuntu1, but I continue to have
the same bug in the indicator-datetime - 0.2.2-0ubuntu1, the actual
version of the indicator. Now I'm certanlly that this bug is related
to the language, because of a bug in the installation process of natty
beta 1, the spanish translation packages weren't downloaded. When I
booted ubuntu the language in use was english,  I changed to the 12
hours format and it worked fine, but after installing the spanish
packages, it worked in the same way of the bug that I repported first,
showing with the 12 hours format like the 24 hours format.

If something is needed just tell me. Thanks for your effort.

[Bug 834869] [NEW] Alt key not working properly

2011-08-26 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 834684 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/834684

Public bug reported:

Pressing the Alt key pops up an annoying dialog that makes it impossible
to use any alt-key combination such as menu items, buttons with
accelerators and custom key combinations (for example Ctrl-Alt-T for a
terminal).

The popup that shows up when I press alt should be fine if it waited for
Tab to be pressed (instead of just alt).

raise TypeError(Unknown method name: %s % name)
TypeError: Unknown method name: GetHistogramData

And still the program doesn't start.

This program has been broken for months.
I think a bug that makes a program useless should not be triaged, you should
remove this program from the repos instead.

[Bug 769234] Re: Notifications are delayed if contacts send messages too fast

2011-06-06 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
@Martin Pitt : I tested the way this works on Unity and I'm impressed:
It works great! --at least with one contact sending several messages.

However, testing the thing more thoroughly -- and I don't think this will truly
be a problem -- I noticed that if two people send one message per second or so
the second person's messages are not notified at all.
MSN messenger responds to this with several notifications, one on top of the
other.
Empathy 2.34.0 from the -proposed repository seems to handle this quite well.

The fix is good for me and the quick response to this bug was great.

Thanks for fixing it so fast!

[Bug 785510] [NEW] 12-hour format doesn't work unless seconds are displayed

2011-05-19 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

This is about the calendar applet (I don't know which package it belongs
to).

The problem is that the 12-hour hour format does not work, it shows the 24-hour
format instead.

[Bug 754019] Re: A running instance of Opera produces the Opera Widget Manager icon in the launcher

2011-05-13 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Today, 13th May, I saw this bug happening in my computer and I thought it was
fixed.
I used gnome for a few days, then when I tried Unity for the first time, there
it was Opera Widget Installer's icon instead of Opera.

[Bug 769234] [NEW] Notifications are delayed if contacts send messages too fast

2011-04-22 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

If your contacts send too many messages to you on empathy, you'll see
notifications a lot later than expected.
For example:
mrx: hi
mrx: how are you?
mrx: i got your message
mrx: but hey
mrx: I already sent you that...

The you open the conversation and read the whole message and even
respond, you'll still have a notification saying but hey even when you
read that message long ago.

So, if you open a conversation or focus the conversation window, all
enqueued messages should be removed from the queue of notifications, or
merged into a single one.

[Bug 765416] Re: [g41] GPU lockup (IPEHR: 0x01800002)

2011-04-21 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Well I found this issue with natty because I had a different workaround
on maverick (edited xorg.conf). So I couldn't really tell if this is
natty specific.

When I try to change the resolution with those commands it either:
+ Works as expected
- Screen goes black but programs are still working (I can switch to
text-console with Ctrl-Alt-F# and back to the GUI which is a black screen with
a mouse that I can move).
- Screen freezes (I think the whole system freezes).

I regret I don't have more information. If it happens again, what should
I do? Are there any logs somewhere I could send?

[Bug 768479] [NEW] I wish I could edit the values of a query

2011-04-21 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sqliteman

It is a shame that sqliteman's text grid is read-only.
The only way to edit a value is double-clicking a table name in the browser on
the left.

However, if I run a simple query such as:
select*from book;
Those results cannot be edited.

I believe rows returned from single-table queries should be editable, or at
least an update query may be generated easily.
I hope filtered single-table queries such as are editable too:
select author,title,year from book where author='Isaac Asimov' order by title;

It would be nice to edit values returned from multiple table queries as
well if possible (non-generated).

[Bug 765416] [NEW] [g41] GPU lockup

2011-04-18 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

Executed the following script:

xrandr \
--output HDMI1 --auto \
--output VGA1 --off

I use this to return to normal, which is 1680x1050, the previous resolution
(which I use for the de secondary monitor) is enabled with this other script:

xrandr --newmode 1280x768 80.125 1280 1344 1480 1680 768 769 772 795 +hsync
+vsync
xrandr --addmode VGA1 1280x768
xrandr --addmode HDMI1 1280x768

xrandr \
--output VGA1 --mode 1280x768 \
--output HDMI1 --mode 1280x768

This is because my monitor's resolution is not detected automatically.
Anyway, those scripts work most of the time. But when they crash, they do it in
differente ways everytime.

Here is the screenshot to provide a clearer idea of what happens.
That slider is impossible to click because it disappears as soon as the mouse
moves away from the orange bar.

[Bug 753771] Re: dropdown menus crash compiz

2011-04-13 Thread Th3Pr0ph3t
This bug has made me believe Compiz was unstable when in fact it is produced by
the settings I'm using.
Window Decoration: !(state=maxvert)
Window Shadows: !(class=Conky)

Use those expressions for Shadow and Decoration in the Decoration plugin
on compizconfig-settings-manager (ccsm) and the bug will be reproduced.

This did not occur on previous versions of Ubuntu. I'm almost certain
that those expressions are responsible of crashing compiz over and over
again.
