[Bug 579166] Re: Rhythmbox automatically synchs/breaks iPhone

2010-07-25 Thread jmfrank
My iphone 3G with 3.1.3 looses its lyrics and the ability to use TuneWiki App,
when synced with rhythmbox. After resync with itunes everything ist fine.
Hopefully linux will some day be able to read the itunes lyrics. Until that i
have to stick to itunes (unfortunatly)
If I can give any help I'll be glad to do so.
I use a fresh installed 10.04 with ppa:pmenery enabled on an eeePC 1000H.

[Bug 609785] [NEW] When opened on 1024x600 easytag changes screensize with every mouseclick

2010-07-25 Thread jmfrank
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: easytag

The application does not scale well on 1024x600 screens, changes size of
window with every mouse click, so you can't use the mouse anymore
because the mouse does not click where you pointed it to. One screen
size only shows the directories, the other the menubar and toolbar.

[Bug 410407] Re: flash does not recognise mouse clicks

2009-10-22 Thread jmfrank
Hello, for me I found a nice workaround. It looks like the show
desktop plugin causes the bug. I use compiz now and have this plugin
disabled. Enabling changes appearence of the plugin regulators and
disables mouseclicks. Disabling the plugin changes appearance back in
flash and mouseclicks work again.

I am using a intel quad core amd64 machine with crossfire ati cards on
karmic.

Hope this helps someone.

Greetings Johannes

[Bug 410407] Re: flash does not recognise mouse clicks

2009-10-22 Thread jmfrank
Sorry, its much funnier than I thought. Openening the
compizconfig-settings-manager works as a bug toggle. Open it once flash works,
second time doesn't third time won't and so on.
This effect overlayed my first suspicion, but I think this is the behavior. Can
anyone confirm this?

On an eeepc 1000H. Is there a way to reset the desktop mode manual?

[Bug 442197] Re: [i945] Issues with the xserver-xorg-video-intel[?] on an Intel Mobile 945GME.

2009-10-11 Thread jmfrank
Hmm, I was impationed, and did a reinstall. And, the problem vanished.
So this might have probably been related to the fact, I ran karmic for
four month now. (Yes it was usable all the time, except for the last
three days.) So I withdraw my request for critical, as the problem is
very like to be unique to me.

Well, I know don't be impationed, but I got no X on an eeepc for three days
now. I don't expect a fix right now, but importance undecided is maybe a
littlebit misplaced. I will be glad to help you in tracing down this bug.
But I also would appreciate seeing this bug as critical. I got no X on a
portable device, have to plug in a cable and ssh into my portable to have
access at all. This is a mega show stopper, don't you think?

Well,

I've got a ASUS A6km notebook, and the only way to get it boot from usb-
stick is loading a custom DSDT table. Now that the patch is removed I
cannot boot with any usb-devices attached. I'm currently digging into
creating a custom kernel, but that leaves me out to security patches.
The situation is unpleasant. Is there a way out of this?

as we now are with 2.6.24-22 it seems something was done, the problem didn't

Disks sda and sdb share uuid with /dev/mapper/pdc_dghdgccfge1.

I see the same behavior on my 32 bit system.

I can provide additional info on request and I be willing to test
patches.

I do have the same problem with debian version 1.3.5-2 which I compiled from

currently do start audacity with padsp.

[Bug 164416] Re: Internal Error failed to intialize HAL ! ??? what's

2008-05-20 Thread jmfrank
It seems a similar bug appears in hardy with kernels 2.6.24-17-generic/rt. As a
sideeffect gnome-key-ring segfaults.
The temporary solution is to move S13gdm to S30gdm thus behind S24hal and the
problem is gone.
It seems hal is initialized to late.
As hardy is a LTS version I think the bug should be handled.

Hardware: ASUS P4P800 dual Pentium IV with 2GB Ram.

[Bug 227215] Re: ltsp client not loading nbi.img

2008-05-07 Thread jmfrank
well i solved the problem. With the upgrade from gutsy to hardy i kept my
sysctl.conf file and used the old iptables-save (1.3.6) generated nat.conf.
Generating a new nat.conf via iptables-save (1.3.8) and and using the new
sysctl.conf file solved the issue.
The bug can be closed or might be redirected to iptables as no warning or
information is issued.

[Bug 92338] NetworkManager takes over already used nfsroot interface

2007-03-14 Thread jmfrank
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

On PXE booted enviroments eth0 or equivalent has to be taken out on
/etc/network/interfaces in order not to be reconfigured.
But network-manager takes over this interface and thus renders the system
unusable.
There is no obvious way to exclude the interface from network-manager, either
not being there or not documented in the man-page.
In short: There shout be a /etc/NetworkManager/excluded-interfaces.conf for
the user to exclude an interface from network-manager, or a clear documentation
on how to do this.
The behavior was detected on feisty.

Press reset on Mouse. Then issue sudo hidd --search.
After reboot the kde bluetooth applet seems to detect the mouse but is unable

Again a reset on mouse followed by sudo hidd --search makes the mouse work
