I am really sorry, I didn't mention the obvious but guess that wasn't very
obvious and I should have mentioned it already to be extra clear. Sorry
again.

The aim or purpose behind the email I sent (the one you replied), is kind
of preparation and brain provoking [1] so everyone starts to get ready for
the next step which was:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-gnome/2015-August/003373.html

But again, guess that wasn't very clear.

So, thanks for saving my time and suggesting this ;)

I am not yet done. I will send 1-3 more emails as per of my vision and
planning of this cycle. I sent one already:

Will start working on the rest ;)

Thank you, great suggestion and I see Alfredo, despite he was so tired, he
sent his so thanks for that :)

What about you, Tim? :P
You're no exception hehe

Real life comes first. The challenge is how to contribute voluntary to
something you love and have commitment to while taking care of yourself and
do the real-life tasks. That's the real challenge here.

 I am going to suggest that each team leader sends a quick status
 report to this list to kick off the discussions. Including some or all of
 the
 following (or anything else they feel relevant)
- Whats been done so far this cycle?
- What are the plans for the rest of the cycle?
- Where is help needed
- Are there possible items, that might need to be deferred to 16.04

I got your email/report, thank you for that :)
I will share my notes/opinion later ;)

What I am looking for is more than just a report. As per:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-gnome/2015-August/003373.html

Your report will fall under "Internal Feedback" category.
Based on that, we shall come up with a plan for 15.10 cycle.

So, once we have the report/feedback which you sent, we need to set the
plan. I will share my ideas about how to do that, hopefully today (my time).

 Dear all,

 This is an invite to an open week of discussion. I am not very happy
 with the current direction/status of the community and sub-teams (my area
 as a community lead). Therefore, I'd ask:

* Leaders of Ubuntu GNOME sub-teams
* Acting team leaders
* The active contributors of the sub-teams
* And, whoever is interested to join (we have no secrets to hide)

 Let's be available on IRC whenever you can. Simply, ping me with an
 email and I'll login to IRC if I am not logged in already.

 Times where I can _*not*_ be online:

* 12:00 AM - 6:00 AM  +10 GMT -
 http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html
* 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM  +10 GMT -
 http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html
* 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM  +10 GMT -
 http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html

 Again, this is an open week of discussion. It means, no specific time
 nor date. Started already from today, until Friday 7th of August, 2015.
 /*Sorry, I will not do anything during the _weekends_ any more unless
 it is a super critical and urgent matter.*/

 It is the best way to make sure I will catch up with each and everyone
 :) I am no longer interested to waste time over endless mailing list
 discussion just to find a good time for everyone, that will never
 happen.

 Those who will fail to show up this week, without a very valid reason,
 I'd ask them to step down until they're 100% able to be back to action
 again. If you see this now and you know you can't make it for a very
 good and valid reason, please do reply me only and let me know from now,
 please! if you will not reply nor show up, it means you're already away
 from Ubuntu GNOME without letting us/me know:

 https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuGNOME/GettingInvolved/WhoWeAre/Vacation

 Which means, you need to step back, finish whatever is more urgent (I
 do understand, no worries) and give the chance to others who would love
 to help!

 Yes, I managed to stay away from ALL my project for 48 hours and I
 managed to heal myself and recharge my empty drained dying batteries.

 It is time now to take this community to an entire new level that
 hopefully will be a milestone to be proud of ;) Let's see!

 Thank you!

To me, you're one of our core members (soon, I will send a very detailed
email about this) and for sure, you're in the loop ;)

Whether you use IRC (I know you don't) or not, as long as you're following

2015-08-03 Thread Keith I Myers
Hello All,
I am very sorry for not being around as much as I used to be over the past
few weeks. I have been doing a lot of traveling and came home to family
being in town that I had to entertain while also holding down a full time
job. They are leaving today to drive back to their house so my schedule
should be freeing up. I am not normally too active on IRC but will pop in
tomorrow. I will ping Ali with a time as soon as I know when I will be
free.

 Dear all,

 This is an invite to an open week of discussion. I am not very happy
 with the current direction/status of the community and sub-teams (my area
 as a community lead). Therefore, I'd ask:

* Leaders of Ubuntu GNOME sub-teams
* Acting team leaders
* The active contributors of the sub-teams
* And, whoever is interested to join (we have no secrets to hide)

 Let's be available on IRC whenever you can. Simply, ping me with an
 email and I'll login to IRC if I am not logged in already.

 Times where I can _*not*_ be online:

* 12:00 AM - 6:00 AM  +10 GMT -
 http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html
* 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM  +10 GMT -
 http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html
* 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM  +10 GMT -
 http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html

 Thank you!

I also prefer to send a quick report. I've been surprisingly free these
past days, but I'm working full-time this week helping my father to build
his new house, so I won't be available at a reasonable time in Australia
(I'm UTC - 4 or so right now, and I don't want you to stay awake late,
Ali).

Right now I'm leaving to buy some construction materials and I won't be
home till evening probably. I'll write the report when I get home, unless I
return home to hear something different from this list.

Cheers,

This all seems a little lacking of purpose (or direction), Im guessing your
coming at it from a planning perspective, but that is not even
mentioned in the email!

I am going to suggest that each team leader sends a quick status report to
this list to kick off the discussions. Including some or all of the
following (or anything else they feel relevant)

Dedicated to the drivers/leaders of Ubuntu GNOME sub-teams

Dear all,

This is an invite to an open week of discussion. I am not very happy with
the current direction/status of the community and sub-teams (my area as a
community lead). Therefore, I'd ask:

   - Leaders of Ubuntu GNOME sub-teams
