Dear All, I am running Firefox 3.6.13 on top of Ubuntu 10.04.LTS Occasionally I need to run an IE Tab. I have gone to Firefox Addin but have not been able to find an Add-in that will install under the above combination. What Add in works under these conditions? Car PCs are nothing new they've been around for a long long time, but they were mainly limited to tinkers/enthusiasts. it's just going mainstream now. And neither is it country specific, http://www.iride.in/ has been selling kits in India for many years now. As the cost of a PC drops(You can get a 7 android tablet for under $100 already!), they'll probably become standard in most cars. Why carry CDs/USB sticks to your car when you can sync your entire collection over wifi while your car is parked at your home? Or eliminate the need for a drive-in cinema by watching your favorite movies projected onto your windscreen! J'utilise la plate-forme web de Eclipse. Le support HTML et JS pour le côté client est bien. Tandis que le développement côté serveur en JSP et Java est excellent. Dans ce cas regardez aussi du coté du logiciel aptana.. mais tout c logiciels n'offrent pas du wysiwyg qui a de l'allure? Personnellement, pour réaliser une application web compatible ms-firefox-safari, des essais sur les navigateurs sont nécessaires. Alors, j'opte plutôt pour l'intégration des navigateurs au menu que l'usage du wyswyg. Bonjour, Un client me demande comment synchroniser son téléphone Windows Mobile 6.5 avec Thunderbird sous GNU/Linux (contacts, calendrier, tâches) sans passer par le cloud Google. Une petite recherche préliminaire me pointe vers Funambol[1] et/ou Sogo[2] - essentiellement on crée l'équivalent d'un mini-cloud privé, et on y synchronise les données ainsi: Thunderbird -- Funambol / Sogo -- Téléphone D'autres articles/références moins récentes décrivent des méthodes avec des packages qui sont abandonnés ou ne fonctionnent pas (probablement par la rareté du bassin d'utilisateurs)[3]. Je dois retester ceci avec des versions plus récentes mais ça n'augure pas très bien. Est-ce que qq'un ici a un appareil semblable et fait cette synchronisation autrement ? Merci pour tout renseignement, avant de me lancer dans un prototype je voulais valider ici. Une fonction qui était bien aimé de tous c'est le fait que lorsqu'ils écrivaient un courriel, la suggestion de correction On the fly incluait le français et l'anglais. Malheureursement, Thunderbird ne suggère qu'une seul langue. Les 2 dictionnaires sont déjà installés. Quelqu'un sait si il y a moyen de le faire ? Hi Jim, That sounds like an issue with a proxy server, and may not be related to the issue with apt. Do you have another machine available which works, on which you can check the proxy server settings? Having contacted IT admin prior to posting on this list, they have stated that there is no proxy server currently running, therefore I assume that it must be something else. At this stage I do not know what. If you can get through to the internet, your hardware network connection is working fine. If you can see any local servers or other machines, you have local networking set up OK - assuming there are some of course. I have been trying helplessly to configure the wired network connection IPv4 settings etc. Doing a ping on the network address returns an excellent connection, but I cannot view any other machines or servers on the network! I'm assuming sudo works ok for you on that machine. I would try to select a new apt mirror. You didn't say if you were running a desktop or a server, but I'll assume desktop as you mentioned browsing from it. You could run SystemAdministrationUpdate Manager and in the settings select a different server (the University of Kent mirror service is big and fast from here) and see if that manages to update OK. Yes you are correct it is a desktop install. I tried to update, the Kent mirror service is not available so trying a ping for the best service resulted in UK service. I have also tired configuring the workstation as instructed in http://www.debianadmin.com/ubuntu-networking-for-basic-and-advanced-users.html but again this has proved less than fruitful to date. [ubuntu-uk] Tower Hamlets FOSS day
Buzzing a bit about our event today - 30-odd people turned up at the Oxford House Settlement, the atmosphere was relaxed and enthusiastic. Lots of interest in Ubuntu - Ubuntu CDs flew off the table and we gave everyone USB sticks loaded with FOSS, including Wubi. We gave people Ubuntu laptops to play with and a tour of the Desktop - squeezed one installation in between workshops - lots of people said they'll be bringing laptops etc to the free drop-in on Friday 4th for help to install Ubuntu at leisure. Feedback has been really positive. The charities found it useful and a real eye-opener. A couple of other London City Fringe borough CVSs are interested in us doing similar events for them. Getting the serious support of CVSs will help a lot to build faith in Ubuntu in the VCS and I feel like we're really starting to get somewhere. Big thanks to everyone who did workhops and helped out, it's been a thoroughly successful day and you all made it feel like breeze. Hi Peter, I am planing a similar system on my own, cheap and powerfull. Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3,0 GHz The Wolfdale series is still quite powerfull and you can get it cheap. With the right motherboard and fast RAM you'll get a nice system. I want to try a motherboard that supports DDR3-1333, but i read DDR2 isn't so much slower. I want to try an Asrock P45DE3 (Sound, G-LAN, SATA2). This motherboard is able to be overclocked to 1600 Mhz RAM. Asrock is cheap and they are getting goods reviews at the moment. As video card i use a ATI Radeon 4650. This is enough power for my needs. I think you can choose what you like but check if the driver is good supported by the linux community. I've run Ubuntu Studio on a Dell GX280 with P4, 2.8 ghz CPU, with 1.5 gigs of memory, on-board audio, and whatever video card came with it for recording audio. I was achieving less than 10msecs of latency while running JACK, Ardour, Hydrogen, and Rakarrack while doing multi-track recording. This setup probably wouldn't be very responsive for tons of digital processing via plugins, but it does show some of the bottom end. Oi Fabiano, tudo bem? É o seguinte, não vou dar uma solução, mas uma sugestão: Qual é o tamanho da tua rede? Se for pequena como a do nosso laboratório aqui a gente faz assim: Internet -- Router --- Switch --- PCs rede local ^- Servidor de arquivos No servidor de arquivos há duas coisas: um svn e um ftp (ftp), e claro o serviço de login em pastas privada (e.g. /home/user) Para acessarmos o svn usamos tortoise-svn no win, ou qualquer outro cliente svn no linux (e.g. da IDE: Netbeans p.ex.) Para acessarmos o ftp usamos o Nautilus mesmo: ftp://ip_server. Usuário/senha e as pastas aparecem. Funfa no Explorer também. O ftp está configurado para acender a uma pasta (/var/ftp) no servidor, dentro da qual está uma pasta para cada user e uma pública. Eu só posso acessar minha pasta e a pública, as demais são privadas (link simbólico para /home/user). Ou seja a única pasta verdadeiramente pública é o ftp. Tu podes colocar links simbólicos para outras pastas. Quem cuda da segurança neste nível é o Debian (login e direitos de pastas definidos localmente e acessados a partir de um conta de usuário do sistema, utilizado pelo ftp). Como o router só deixa passar tráfego pelo MAC, a rede é bastante segura: não há tráfego de entrada na rede interna (o servidor é acessado pelo endereço IP da rede interna) e mesmo na rede interna só é possível acender à internet via Router (que está configurado com firewall e filtro de MAC). Em cada PC há um firewall ligado e as máquinas Win estão com antivirus. Como a rede é pequena, o cuidado com segurança é mais ou menos diluído nos usuários (que não são tão básicos). Não há rede wireless interna! Como a rede é pequena (6 PCs e 4 PLCs) a gestão é *piece cake*!. Então, como eu faria para permitir a leitura e escrita nesta pasta e arquivos? Teria que fazer acesso SSH para isso ou teria uma forma de fazer pelo Nautilus? Se tivesse uma solução via Nautilus seria muito bom, pois tenho alguns usuários com pouca intimidade com o computador e ter que explicar um acesso SSH e as permissões de pastas e arquivos será um transtorno. Quem cuda da segurança neste nível é o Debian (login e direitos de pastas definidos localmente e acessados a partir de um conta de usuário do sistema, utilizado pelo ftp). Como o router só deixa passar tráfego pelo MAC, a rede é bastante segura: não há tráfego de entrada na rede interna (o servidor é acessado pelo endereço IP da rede interna) e mesmo na rede interna só é possível acender à internet via Router (que está configurado com firewall e filtro de MAC). Em cada PC há um firewall ligado e as máquinas Win estão com antivirus. Como a rede é pequena, o cuidado com segurança é mais ou menos diluído nos usuários (que não são tão básicos). Não há rede wireless interna! Como a rede é pequena (6 PCs e 4 PLCs) a gestão é *piece cake*!. Ia dar a mesma sugestão do Marlon. Para acessar o cmpartilhamento e inclusive criar um marcador para ele, facilitando futuros acessos vá no menu principal do Gnome em Locais/conectar-se ao servidor, abrira uma caixa de diálogo bastante intuitiva e você cria o marcador. Reinstalei o Dropbox com a última versão, mas ignorei o login e fiz como da primeira vez. Agora sim! O que estava lá desde o Win7 agora está no Ubuntu. De vez em quando dá umas trelas assim no meu Ubuntu tb. Sei lá se é alguma coisa no boot, que dá algum pau, sei lá... mas o Ubuntu já liga sem som. Daí reinicio e funciona normal. Já aconteceu até de eu plugar o fone de ouvido e ele não tirar o som das caixas, nem enviar para o fone. Daí, aquela história. Reiniciei e funfou... nem perco mais tempo fuçando em configuração. Eu nunca examinei os logs do sistema para ver se tem alguma mensagem do ALSA, tratando-se de algum erro ou coisa parecida. O problema é logo na inicialização no sistema (no meu caso). Teve um dia que eu liguei meu note (HP DV4 2112BR) e fui tocar música no Amarok, e o som não funcionou. Foi uma coisa seguida da outra. Ou seja, liguei o note somente para escutar música. Mexi mexi mexi e nada. Reiniciei para ver se efetivavam as minhas mexidas e voltou a funcionar. Outro dia liguei o note para escutar música no trabalho, pluguei o fone de ouvido e percebi que o som não estava saindo através do acessório, mas sim das caixinhas de som onboard. Fuçei fuçei fuçei e nada. Mesmo esquema, reiniciei o note e voltou a funcionar. Depois disso fui assistir um filme com a patroa e o som não estava saindo. Nem perdi tempo fuçando. Simplesmente reinicializei o note e voltou. Por enquanto sei lá o que ocorreu da próxima vez que acontecer isso vou ver se dou uma olhadinha nos logs. Só que ao tilizá-lo em sua máquina novamente, aqueles extras que a gente sempre acrescenta não são instalados, mas estão lá no cd de backup, só ir instalando um por um. Páginas bem construídas informam ao navegador que codificação está sendo usada (as mais comuns são iso-8859-1 e unicode). Você pode configurar o Firefox para selecionar automaticamente ou para preferir uma codificação específica. Можно, правда экспериментировал не на *.deb, но сработало. Думаю тут аналогично. Ты через синаптик смотри подробную информацию о установленном пакете, там будет видно где вообще хранятся все файлы, в том числе конфигурационные. I was also having this problem of SIGSEGVs on php. [Bug 723755] [NEW] When using Samba authenticating via Kerberos against a windows AD, winbind hangs on boot
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: samba Hi all, I recently set about making a linux box (Ubuntu Server LTS 10.04) authenticate against a windows based AD via Kerberos, in order to provide shares which would accept domain logins. Everything (eventually) went fine with this, until I rebooted the box. The first thing I noticed was that the share was inaccessible until smbd, nmbd and winbind were restarted. It was at this point that I noticed that while smbd and nmbd had been converted to upstart, winbind had not, and I presumed that it was something to do with startup order. It was at this point I put a head back on the box, and noticed something else. Although I had been able to log in via ssh, the screen was still stuck at the point of starting winbind. The local user was able to switch to another TTY and log in, but the startup sequence was stuck for some reason. I then renamed the init.d script for winbind, and replaced it with the upstart script suggested in a bug here (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/612958), however this did not solve the problem. I also noticed at this point that the winbind process seemed to be running, but fully hung, unresponsive to either its init script or upstart. The only way to deal with this was to kill -9 it, and then it seemed to behave. It still took the restarting of smbd in order for the share to become accessible however. The final solution I found was to change the winbind upstart script AND the samba upstart script to start so that they would only start on networking up (net-device-up IFACE!=lo) in addition to their original start on stanza, looking very much in this respect the same as nmdb already does. In summary: If you start winbind attempting to authenticate against an AD before the networking is up, then it seems to hang permanently. Unfortunately, I don't see how it could be possible to backport all of those fixes into the version of bind currently in Lucid, especially since upstream does not have a public repository where individual patches can be looked at. We have two choices: 1- Live with the version of bind we currently have in Lucid with known broken DNSSEC support 2- Do a one-time SRU of bind 9.7.3 into Lucid and Maverick, and revert to applying cherry-picked fixes in the future.
