[Bug 1827042] Re: ThunderBolt "flaps" on laptop with 32G RAM
I had this issue with ThinkPad X1 Extreme 3rd gen with Ubuntu 20.04 and Thunderbolt 3 Dock gen 2. It got resolved when I plugged second power adapter into the laptop directly. I have 135W adapters for both laptop and the dock and thunderbolt cable for connecting them. There is different type of the same dock called Thunderbold 3 Workstation Dock and the difference is in cables and adapter only. It has stronger adapters and the cable for connecting laptop and the dock has additional power wire in it. I contacted Lenovo support in order to replace them. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1827042 Title: ThunderBolt "flaps" on laptop with 32G RAM To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-signed-hwe/+bug/1827042/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This one is still working on Windows PC. And it was also working on previous version of Ubuntu 19.04 I notice, that first time I plug it in, VMWAre Workstation with Windows VM also see this in its USB device list. But then windows software just can't read it. So, first time after reboot, Key even becomes Green, but than when it try's to access it, it changes to Red. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1879960 Title: pcscd doesn't support ActivKEy SIM B/N: 0945423 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pcsc-lite/+bug/1879960/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1879960] [NEW] pcscd doesn't support ActivKEy SIM B/N: 0945423
Public bug reported: I have ActivKey SIM B/N: 0945423 (from banking authorization) which is not recognized by pcscd. Since it is not recognized, it is also not recognized by VMware Workstation VM which runs Windows. Banking software running in windows doesn't see the key and can't authenticate me. [Bug 1584479] Re: [MSI GP72 6QE Leopard Pro] acpi=off required to boot
Hi, I have HP Zbook 15 with NVidia+Intel graphics. I have enabled NVidia to have better performance (discrete in bios). This requires pnpacpi=off in grub, for Ubuntu to boot into graphic mode with nvidia drivers. And I think this option also disables laptop touchpad and keyboard. I don't see them in xinput. Both of them work in BIOS and when you boot live image. This all started with 18.04 and is the same in 19.04 and 19.10 with 5.3.0-19-generic So, yes, this option is definitely a problem for laptops and nvidia drivers. Any workarounds? [Bug 1050843] Re: scaling_max_freq always on lowest
I couldn't measure gradualy between 50% and 90%, but somewhere in that range, I could change frequency again. The problem with this bug is that if I work on batery, after some time I can't get performance and everything starts to slowdown. Firefox starts to use 150% of cpu (1,5 cores) and if I start vmware workstation with any VM running, every tasks takes half an hour. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1050843 Title: scaling_max_freq always on lowest To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1050843/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1050843] [NEW] scaling_max_freq always on lowest
Public bug reported: Hi, I have HP EliteBook 8440p with quadcore CPU, using Ubuntu 12.04 and Gnome-Shell 3 using two bateries. I noticed following: When batery comes under certain available power and/or when laptop is on power adapter and bateries are charging, until bateries are over 85% (not sure correct number), I can't change scaling_max_freq to maximum number. It stays on lowest possible freq and can't be changed. When bateries are over 85%, I can change this file. vi says : E667: Fsync failed when I try to save the chages. echo 2534000 scaling_max_freq doesn't say anything, it just silently does nothing. I am using performance governor. [Bug 791325] Re: NVIDIA disappearing title bar on Ubuntu 11.04
Hi all, I recently had similar problem: nvidia driver installed, additional drivers shows that driver is activated but currently not in use which is not true, ubuntu 11.04 x86_64 When I had active compiz, I didn't have title bar (it was missing). I finally fixed this by going into cssm (compiz settings manager) and activated Effects/Window Decoration. For Window Decorator I am using GTK Window Decorator. So title bar reapired, but then I couldn't move windows or resize them with mouse or with keyborad (Alt-Space, Move). [Bug 600453] Re: [arrandale] [i915] DELL E6510: blank screen on boot (Intel GPU)
For me, 2.6.38-rc2 and rc3 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ is working OK for me. I get screens on both monitors (internal and external), or only internal if I don't have external monitor connected. I have HP Elitebook 8440p with Intel graphic card. But I have also installed git Intel driver from this ppa: https://launchpad.net/~glasen/+archive/intel-driver and x-updates from here https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates This changed how xrandr see internal display. It is no longer DP1, it is eDP1 now, and external is VGA1. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/600453 Title: [arrandale] [i915] DELL E6510: blank screen on boot (Intel GPU) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 709640] [NEW] ActivIdentity key not working in VMWare Workstation
Public bug reported: Hi, Here is my situation: I am running Ubuntu Maverick x86_64 on an laptop with Intel graphic driver. On Ubuntu I am using VMWare Workstation 7.1.3 to drive Windows 7 to be able to use ActivIdentity USB keys which are used (in my company) to connect to VPN. I have set VMWare and installed pcscd package. With installation of pcscd, I got visible Virtual Activekey Sim 00 00 with Activekey_sim in VMWare. Without pcscd I don't have this Virtual part, which is the part I connect to VM. So to be able to use ActiveIdentity USB key in VM, I connect Virtual ActiveKey Sim 00 00 after Windows has started. In VMWare VM's name.vmx I think I have set the following to be able to get the functionality: uhci.syncWriteback = TRUE usb.generic.allowCCID = TRUE On kernel 2.6.35-24-generic, this is working fine. But on kernel 2.6.38-020638rc2-generic from ubuntu kernel ppa, this is not working. I need key to work on this kernel, because one nasty bug with Intel graphic card is fixed (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/600453 and upstream https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29278) How I see the bug? When I connect Virtual Activekey Sim to the VM and start using the key, by trying to login to VPN, my VPN software just reports problem with the key. If I try to use the key with IE (or Firefox) to login, the login screen last for minutes and finally timeouts. On the key led is just changing color, until I disconnect the key from the VM. What I see in the /var/log/messages is the following, while I am trying to use the key: Jan 29 08:22:28 drodiger1 pcscd: commands.c:1338:CCID_Receive() Can't read all data (55 out of 54 expected) Jan 29 08:22:28 drodiger1 pcscd: ifdwrapper.c:722:IFDTransmit() Card not transacted: 612 Jan 29 08:22:28 drodiger1 pcscd: winscard.c:1675:SCardTransmit() Card not transacted: 0x80100016 This messages are repeated until I disconnect the key from VM. This problem is also visible on kernel 2.6.36,37 and 38. If this bug is related to kernel and not pcscd package, you can move it.
