945GM/GMS με 128MB διαμοιραζόμενη μνήμη, έναν 500άρη σκληρό...
Μπορείτε να μου πείτε σε ποιά ενότητα των Καταγραφών να ψάξω ώστε να
εντοπίσω το πρόβλημα...; Γενικότερα, υπάρχει τρόπος απλούστερος της
Παρακολούθησης αρχείων καταγραφών εντοπισμού κολλημάτων τέτοιας
έκτασης;

Έλεγξε τη μνήμη σου με το memtest πριν την εκκίνηση (κρατώντας πατημένο
το shift εμφανίζεται το menu του grub.)
Επίσης έλεγξε τη θερμοκρασία του επεξεργαστή σου ('sudo modprobe
coretemp', μετά τρέξε 'sensors').

Αλλιώς, ανοίγεις τη μία εικόνα στο gimp, διπλασιάζεις το πλάτος της (Image - Canvas Size - κλικ στην αλυσίδα - 2 x Width - Resize), μετά File - Open as Layers τη 2η εικόνα, τις ευθυγραμμίζεις και σώζεις. This just happened (with a single mail source (Hotmail)). I clicked on Close on the mail notification dialog, pidgin hung for a few seconds, then crashed. I can confirm this happens on 2 different PCs with Nvidia cards. One is a Core 2 Duo with a 8600GT and the other is an Athlon 64 with an 6600LE. Εργαστήριο HELLUG, Workshop: Πως να εγκαταστήσετε έναν web server, 14/2/2009 Ο Βαγγέλης Μπαλάσκας οργανώνει αυτό το workshop και γράφει: Με λίγα λόγια θα καλύψουμε σε ένα 2ωρο (το πολύ) εγκατάσταση του Apache Web Server από πηγαίο κώδικα, θα δούμε τις πιο βασικές του ρυθμίσεις και θα φτιάξουμε κανά 2-3 σελίδες html. Παρέα φυσικά με καφεδάκι. Σε γενικές γραμμές έλεγε τα εξής:) Μήπως εννοείς AWN (Avant Window Navigator), γιατί ο AWM δε νομίζω να υπάρχει στο Ubuntu, πόσο μάλλον να έχει window previews...; Αν με taskbar εννοείς το taskbar του Metacity (window manager του GNOME) δεν έχει προεπισκοπήσεις παραθύρων (αν εννοούμε το ίδιο πράγμα). Σε κάθε περίπτωση, εάν πιστεύεις πως αυτό είναι bug ή feature που λείπει (στο Compiz/GNOME π.χ. δεν υπάρχουν previews σε minimized παράθυρα), τότε το κατάλληλο μέρος να δηλωθεί είναι το Bug Tracker του AWN στο: https://bugs.launchpad.net/awm Επειδή μάλλον πρόκειται πιο πολύ για feature request παρά για bug, το καλύτερο είναι να δηλωθεί ως Wishlist. Χωρίς χορηγία CD δυστυχώς μόνο έτσι γίνεται. I suspect you have an old/incompatible extension installed somewhere. Shut down your Thunderbird. Inside your ~/.mozilla-thunderbird/ there is a profile name that looks like wx4ke9ne.default. Move the extensions folder inside it somewhere else (e.g. your Desktop) and restart Thunderbird. If the problem persists, it must be one of your old extensions. It will not copy the content of your home dir (also it creates it so that you can log in). The sandbox-test-upgrade will perform the cloning in your current working directory (so make sure you have enough room and be patient if you have a big rootfs) and then run a non-interactive upgrade test and copy the result. For testing, you will need a kvm capable system (run kvm to see if that works), bandwidth, patience (the cloning and the download of the upgrade will take a bit) and some diskspace, it clones your full system (excluding most of /home/). The UI is not that great currently (the progress reporting etc are not really good yet) but the functionatliy should be there. While it is running a vnc console will be available at localhost:0 for further inspection. It is still in development, so you should be careful with it and not run it on your production server just yet. I'm interessted in getting feedback how it works for you. Please allow me to speak frankly: I don't really see what all the fuss is about with that Droid font. Deja Vu Sans is a beautiful font, especially the Condensed version I use as my UI font. It supports many languages and looks quite modern without being very blocky as Troy calls it. Droid has extreme usability problems on my machine here. It looks very condensed at the UI Font selection window, even more so than DejaVuSansCondensed. However when I select it, it appears as a very plain-looking uncondensed font (even plainer than FreeSans). When I fire up Firefox, I get the extremely condensed version again, at the same time when it looks uncondensed on my desktop. What happened to the discussion about D.V.S.C. being the default font and why are we considering a font that *might* be open source one day? OK I've had my suspicions for some time but I think there's been a breakthrough: I've been using the laptop for 2 weeks with a usb mouse and it never froze. As soon as I started using the touchpad again, the freezes came right back. When I disable the touchpad from the BIOS, it works properly. Μια απλή λύση είναι, νομίζω, μόλις bootάρεις να πας στο Places - Computer και να κάνεις mount τα partitions με διπλό κλικ στο όνομά τους. Σας βομβάρδισα, αλλά έχω ενθουσιαστεί και προσπαθώ να αποκτήσω έναν βηματισμό. Ίσως καταφέρω να απεξαρτηθώ πλήρως από τα Win! Μπράβο σου. Καθόλου δύσκολο. Σε AthlonXP2600 με 1GB μνήμη, την ίδια nvidia και κατώτερο σκληρό όλα πάνε αρκετά γρήγορα με 1-2% CPU και compiz να τρέχει. Μήπως ανοίγεις καμιά 50αριά tabs στο firefox και όλες μαζί ανοίγουν flashάκια; Τότε ναι, θα σέρνεται το μηχάνημα. Αλλιώς κάτι άλλο περίεργο συμβαίνει. I've been meaning to submit this but somehow I forgot. It's the first thing I change when I install Ubuntu for me or others and everybody is relieved when they see Deja Vu Sans Condensed as the default font. It takes up much less space on the screen than the grotesque Deja Vu Sans, it is very legible and, aesthetically, everybody I've asked from the local LUG finds it a much better default font. I understand Michiel's concerns over testing, but not over appearance. Ubuntu looks more like a Commodore 64 with the default font and more like a 2007 OS with Condensed.
