[Bug 1899526] Re: Mouse stopped working

2020-10-13 Thread Laura Mugeha
I different wireless mouse now works. I think there's an issue with the
other mouse other than an OS bug.

[Bug 1875159] Re: Official Skype on Ubuntu 20.04 "No device found"

2020-05-25 Thread Laura Dijkhuizen
I ran into this problem with skype and ms teams preview (both deb
installs) when I upgraded Ubuntu 19.10 to 20.04. I reproduced the
screenshot attached earlier, both skype and ms teams won't allow to
select a webcam, microphone or output speaker.

I fixed this issue on my system, by removing the pulseaudio config
folder and rebooting like so

$ rm ~/.config/pulse
# sudo reboot

Hope that helps.

[Bug 1856562] [NEW] Nsscache 0.39 for Bionic

2019-12-16 Thread Laura Morgan
Public bug reported:

Hi friends,

Apologies if this is the incorrect place to report this (please point me
in the right direction if this is the case).

Currently Bionic is shipping with nsscache
(https://github.com/google/nsscache) version 0.34-2ubuntu1

I was wondering if we could upgrade the package to 0.39 (as per debian
testing https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/nsscache) - as this alleviates
some issues with nested group support as well as some formatting and
some smaller bugfixes.

This will allow operators to upgrade fleets to bionic and get these
fixes for free when doing so.

I have had a conversation with the google folks here where they have
confirmed this is fine;
https://groups.google.com/forum/?utm_medium=email_source=footer#!msg
/nsscache-discuss/hQCqL1AMyl0/DUrME51uAQAJ

Many thanks,

/morgy

Cure o Pânico e a Ansiedade. Técnica Natural

2018-05-31 Thread Laura Mello
Title: Fim do Pânico

*** MASS BUG UPDATE **
This bug is being closed with INSUFFICIENT_DATA as there has not been a
response in 4 weeks. If you did actually update, we apologize for the
inconvenience (there are a lot of bugs). If you are still experiencing this
issue, please reopen and attach the relevant data from the latest kernel you
are running and any data that might have been requested previously.

[Bug 1153618]

2018-02-20 Thread Laura
We apologize for the inconvenience. There is a large number of bugs to go
through and several of them have gone stale. As kernel maintainers, we try to
keep up with bugzilla but due the rate at which the upstream kernel project
moves, bugs may be fixed without any indication to us. Due to this, we are
doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 27 kernel bugs.

Fedora 27 has now been rebased to 4.15.3-300.f27. Please test this kernel
update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is
still present with the newer kernel.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.

[Bug 1680288] [NEW] evince crashes on 'Type 3 font' error in PDF

2017-04-05 Thread Laura Derocher
Public bug reported:

I have a PDF that crashes Document Viewer repeatably at the same page.
Starting evince from console, I see these errors (at p.709, 719/958):

Syntax Error: Missing or invalid CharProcs dictionary in Type 3 font
Syntax Error: Weird page contents
evince: /build/buildd/cairo-1.13.0~20140204/src/cairo-scaled-font.c:459:
_cairo_scaled_glyph_page_destroy: Assertion `!scaled_font->cache_frozen' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)

MuPDF and Firefox also flag the font error, but don't crash. Firefox
says (at p.711, 721/958)

Warning: Error during font loading: Type3 font load error: TypeError:
this.stream.getByte is not a function pdf.js:273:11

and MuPDF says (at p.712, 722/958)

error: syntaxerror: Type3 font missing CharProcs
error: cannot load type3 font (3207 0 R)
error: cannot set font
warning: Ignoring errors during rendering
warning: cannot draw text since font and size not set
error: syntaxerror: Type3 font missing CharProcs
error: cannot load type3 font (3207 0 R)
error: cannot set font
warning: cannot draw text since font and size not set
mupdf: warning: Errors found on page
warning: cannot render glyph

I attached a bit of a PDF that triggers this. Evince will crash when it
reaches p.708 (9/16 in the extract). MuPDF and Firefox will throw errors

[Bug 1508787] [NEW] Mumble fails to stay connected using 3.13.0-66-generic kernel

2015-10-21 Thread Laura Cowen
Public bug reported:

Mumble can't stay connected to the server when using the
3.13.0-66-generic kernel. It's almost constantly using >100% CPU too.

It's fine when using the 3.13.0-65-generic kernel.

To reproduce, boot with the 3.13.0-66-generic kernel and start Mumble.
It initially connects to the server but then disconnects. All other
participants in the Mumble are displayed as connected but their 'lips'
icons always stay greyed out and they can't be heard (although they can
hear me).

A positive suggestion has been made to hold a public IRC meeting
regarding a number of high-profile occurances which have come to light
during May/June 2015. A time-slot has been suggested[1] as the Ubuntu
Community Council #ubuntu-meeting timeslot for Friday 19 June 2015 at
17:00 UTC.

I would like to see this happen. I will try and be there.

Moving ahead so quickly would be great, but I'll be unable to attend this week.

The procedure for drawing up the Community Council agenda recommends
that items are edited/added 24 hours beforehand; to that end I have
scooped up items which I am aware have cropped up on the Ubuntu
Community Council mailing list[2] and in surrounding discussion over
the last few weeks:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/CommunityCouncilAgenda#General_Agenda_Items_and_Proposals

As an observer I hope that _all_ *buntu members will do their utmost
to keep discussion factual and on-topic. Please try to be prepared in
advance with straight, factual answers.[2]

I'm sorry I cannot make todays meeting I'm at a Conference.

Thanks for the pointer, that was helpful. The commit hash I was looking for is

Affects me on 14.04LTS. In my case, I can set lpoptions on a per-user

have specified is checked as default, and the ooption to set it as

2014-10-28 Thread Laura M. Castro
Public bug reported:

Current version of package plantuml on Ubuntu 14.04 is 7707.

Latest version of plantuml available on http://plantuml.sourceforge.net/
is 8009.

Current version of package plantuml on Ubuntu crashes on very simple
diagrams, if made following updated documentation on sourceforge
website. Since there is no documentation package for this tool, the
online documentation is the only resource that users of this tool use.
In other words, there is no way of knowing the input syntax that was
valid for the 7707 version anymore, which deems the current version in
Ubuntu unusable.

[Bug 1357810] Re: Can't install updates because out of space

2014-08-30 Thread Laura Cowen
I think this is what I did today so that I could install the most recent
updates. I used Synaptic to uninstall three kernels so I now just have
the current kernel and the previous one. Is that the same result as
using the commands that article suggests?

[Bug 1347494] [NEW] Logging in doesn't load unity desktop on admin account

2014-07-23 Thread Laura Czajkowski
Public bug reported:

When I log into my main account my desktop doesn't load.

If I log in as a guest user I've no issue and desktop loads

In order to get main account to work I need to go to to TTY1 and run

GSETTINGS_BACKEND=memory COMPIZ_CONFIG_PROFILE=ubuntu DISPLAY=:0 compiz
--replace

followed by

sudo restart lightdm

This seems to restart my main account and loads up unity as normal, it
doesn't display my side bar as I'd expect but does load the default
applications to the side menu.

[Bug 1323594] Re: vpn auto-connect works, but doesn't connect automatically when network is available.

2014-06-14 Thread Laura Davis-Robeson
Same here. If I have wifi set to automatically connect to VPN, it
doesn't connect on its own, I have to select the wifi network every time
I log in / unlock my screen. If I *don't* have wifi set to automatically
use VPN, the same wifi network will connect automatically, as expected.
VPN works just fine, it's just the extra step that's annoying.

[Bug 1009276] Re: auto driver downloader fails on epson px-5600 (precise pangolin)

2013-11-08 Thread Laura Prowicz
I neglected to mention and thought it was probably pretty important:

I walked through the installation process (automatic, because I am a
newer Linux user) on my new 13.01 install of Unbuntu and this printer
install for the Canon PixmaMX880 worked flawlessly.

Later the same day when I walked through the exact same process on my
older install of 12.04 Ubuntu (it's probably 6 months old) it failed
with the above error no trusted origin.

I am unsure whether the age of the Ubuntu installation or the version of
the Ubuntu installation is more impactful, or both.

I am in a dead area for user groups and would like to start one up. I
feel it would be a great help to have something physical where people
can go for help, support and encouragement. However whenever I mention
this and try to push for it I just get hit with a whole lot of
negative comments and lethargy. Nobody seems willing to support the
idea at all and I think it's a real shame. There seems to be a lot of
laziness and 'let somebody else deal with it' attitude going on. I'm
more than happy to set one up but it's not easy when you don't have
any proof that anybody else will even turn up!

We all need to remember at all times that when we talk on these
forums, chat rooms, web pages that we are representing the brand
(whichever floats your boat) and so should keep it positive,
constructive and supportive at all times. If any of us feels the need
to drag the tone down we really shouldn't be doing so in such a public
way, keep it 1 on 1.

Gareth,

There is nothing to stop you organising it, sending a link out to date /
time of the meet up here if you so chose, it's an Ubuntu mailing list
so I assume the meet up would be Ubuntu related of some kind, perhaps
you could add the event to the loco team portal.

Let me know your postal address via email and I'll send you a second
hand 500GB Western Digital USB attached hard drive in an enclosure
today. Model number WD5000D032. It was sat in a drawer doing nothing,
so I powered it up and formatted it. Self test shows there's nothing
 wrong with it.

I have no need for it.

 Cheers,
After the way you spoke to me last time Alan, I'd rather run over my
hard drive with my car! Rude was not the word.

Gareth,

You've shown people no grace or manners in their attempts to help you in
this issue, even though reading that log you posted of your interactions
with Packard Bell you come off worse showing unhelpfulness and rudeness.

Alan Bell has offered to give you a harddrive for free, and to keep to
help you get out of this issue. You could at least show some manners by
saying thank you!

[ubuntu-uk] vUDS 14-16 May online

2013-05-10 Thread Laura Czajkowski
Aloha

That time is fast approaching again - Next week is the 2nd virtual UDS
(vUDS) - http://summit.ubuntu.com/uds-1305/
It is open to anyone and everyone, sessions are online, not just on air,
there are irc channels to watch discussions and you have a voice too.
Everyone is encouraged to take part, comment on discussions and give
your opinions.

Sessions are spilt into tracks/categories which have leaders associated
with them

Tracks...

  * *App Development*: Alan Pope, David Planella Michael Hall
  * *Community*: Daniel Holbach, Nick Skaggs Jono Bacon
  * *Client*: Jason Warner Sebastien Bacher
  * *Server Cloud*: Dave Walker Antonio Rosales
  * *Foundations*: Steve Langasek

In some cases but not all there is a blueprint associated with the
session, clicking subscribe on the blueprint means you will get
notifications of any items added to it. This is useful if you want to
keep track of the progress during the cycle. You can find a list of all
the blueprints registered https://blueprints.launchpad.net/sprints/uds-1305

Perhaps you want to follow the discussion and plan for the Click package
discussion that is taking place if so you'd do the following:

  * You'd see that the Click packages session is on Tuesday at
16:05-17:05 -http://summit.ubuntu.com/uds-1305/track/foundations/

  * If you click on the on Click packages session it opens up another
window for you

http://summit.ubuntu.com/uds-1305/meeting/21760/foundations-1305-click-package/
this is how you'd see everything , the on air discussion, etherpad
note taking application and lastly IRC window all on one page.

  * At the top of the page is blueprint, selecting this brings you to
the blueprint listed above and here you can subscribe to it.

If you miss any session, don't worry, they are all recorded and IRC
sessions are logged so you can read the logs afterwards.

[ubuntu-uk] User Testing

2013-03-18 Thread Laura Czajkowski
Aloha folks

Wondering if there are 4 people on here who would like to do some user
testing in the Bluefinn in London where Canonical is, must be available
on the 2nd or 5th April. It's only for an hour and you will be paid for
it. If you up for it, and in London, or willing to be in London that
day, contact me off list.

Thanks

Just a quick reminder, registration closes today and you do need to

 Hi Alan

 Ok - got it http://www.lczajkowski.com/2013/01/28/hackntalk-march-event/

It just looks rather odd there is no name(s) on the event site - there
usually is for hack/camp/tech etc type of events.

 Cheers

Wasn't trying to hide the fact at all :-) I've been mentioning in most
places and people know it's my event I've started up. The more the
merrier!
