WP is really nice. But do you think there would be some tweaking in it? Really not much,. This would not be a personal blog, it would be community blog. Where any member can write. Right? I dont know why there is problem with capturing desktop using Istanbul, to you people. I can do it without much problem. I have tested some, but it takes much system processing, sso big screencast would be better is its captured over VNC on other computer. There are many VNC recorders. When people will download and watch the movies, it will eat up a lot of bandwidth and will harm other sites hosted on the same server. For that reason, I would suggest using CcPublisher [1] to serve this purpose. It's a pretty easy to use tool and automatically uploads content to archive.org which then can be linked from the website. > So when restructuring the website, we should also look at the logo. > Current logo is so plane, we should have a call for logo works from the > artists in our group. Re: [ubuntu-in] Ubuntu-In Site Re structure
Sounds like a good progess is going to happen restructuring the website. Since Flash is proprietary format, so maybe YouTube video inclusion won't be good idea. Ogg-theora is best, but it would require own space to store. I don't know how the webspace is provided and who manages it, admins please tell me whats behind the curtain, Who provides the space, and how much space is there? Can we have lot more to store many screencasts and data. So when restructuring the website, we should also look at the logo. Current logo is so plane, we should have a call for logo works from the artists in our group. We should have a main page, a documentation section, a common blog page along with some others that members are deciding would be good.' Main page, as always have the intro to Ubuntu-in. It would also contain the link to most sought after Faq-page , news and last 5 blogs. Also consider changing the current website to Web2 standards. Ajax based information service. We can also work for some information/tutorial page regarding Ubuntu implementation in institutions and small businesses. Like, we can have some discussion over the current computer engg/sc courses and then the list of packages needed and we can write a good page regarding it. Like most institutions have to go for Java, C/C++, SQL, network programming, Unix and some windows specific things. So we can put the information like how to setup these and how much it will benefit the institutions. Things like setting multimedia codecs and packages would be good. Setting adsl and connecting to internet will cover all the aspects in this field. I think Aanjhan has organised it very conveniently and it can help a lot when it comes to editing or writing the website. [ubuntu-in] Ubuntu-In Site Re structure
Heya All, I would like to propose a new structure to the Ubuntu-IN website as I feel that slowly more data is getting added and things are going out of sorts. Also the Help page seems to have a lot of info which needs to be sorted. So my proposed sections are as follows: Documentation This will have all the How-tos links to screen casts. They can also contain what How-to needs to be added or say "A How-To Wish list" can also be here. Projects - Would describe about the projects that are/was taken up by the community. For Eg.
