[ubuntu-studio-devel] Art Team

2016-12-07 Thread C. F. Howlett
Greetings Art Team et al:

I would like to test something prior to launching the 17.04 wallpaper
contest: submitting visual content to the Ubuntu Studio Facebook group
page. I believe this would be more efficient and effective than the
somewhat convoluted method we used last time.

The test format case is

1. enable FB submissions via email

2. enable mirroring FB updates to the US Twitter account

2. Announce and publicize an Ubuntu Studio Happy Holidays wallpaper sprint

3. Accept content for the sprint.

5. Evaluate pros & cons of this method.

*** I'm pretty sure we can set things so that emailed submissions are
held pending approval.

[ubuntu-studio-devel] Art Team! 10th Birthday Wallpaper Contest

2016-11-20 Thread C. F. Howlett
Hey UbuntuStudio:

I'm preparing to run a wallpaper contest for the 10th Year of Ubuntu
Studio (17.04 for those who were unaware).

I learned some valuable lessons from the 16.04 contest so this time will
be a bit different in the hopes of yielding some truly outstanding
results. Please review the draft announcement below and provide feedback.

Digital Artist Call
Ubuntu Studio 17.04 Wallpapers

Would you like YOUR artwork to be prominently featured on millions of
desktops? Yes? Read on!

With the forthcoming 17.04 release, Ubuntu Studio, the Linux for
Creative Humans, celebrates Ten (!) years of life! We ask your help to
polish the look and feel of our favorite OS. Over the next few months,
we will call on your brains and creative impulses. Here’s one way YOU
can add your own special flair; create, design and submit a
custom-designed US desktop wallpaper!

General Guidelines

Only ORIGINAL art will be considered – no derivatives
NO photographs! (But photo-realistic creations are acceptable.)
Art must be created in open-source software, e.g. those included Ubuntu
Studio.
Submissions must include source files.
One or more of the general work-flow elements (audio, graphics, video)
must be incorporated in the design. Liliu Hua, an UbuntuKylin artist,
did this quite elegantly. Zoom in to see the magic. [url filtered] Look
closely.
Only ONE submission per artist.

Ten wallpapers will be selected and packaged for 17.04. The submission
deadline is February 28th, 2017.

Additional technical specifications can be found on the Art Team wiki.

You can view previous contributions at the Ubuntu Studio Flickr
collection. [url filtered]

I know I have been very quiet of late. My Dell M3800 Developer Edition

[ubuntu-studio-devel] ART TEAM ALERT! 16.04 Wallpaper Contest has been decided.

2016-02-16 Thread C. F. Howlett
*** READ ME

16.04 Wallpaper Contest Winners

This is the completed list of 16.04 Wallpapers as per the public vote
conducted 02/11/16 - 02/15/16. Final outcome is documented at the
Condorcet voting link.

NOTE 1: Adam Tuba had two winning entries; Wallpaper1 and Wallpaper1B.
These entries are virtually identical and are distinguishable by their
creation process rather than final product. Rather than having
identical pieces in the collection, I have eliminated the less popular
Wallpaper1B. This bumped the number 17 entry to number 16, thus
KBambardekar_BeetleBrot joins the winning entries.

NOTE 2:

*** Naming Convention Explained ***

Some wallpapers were re-labeled to distinguish them from similarly named
pieces or to give a more meaningful name. In all cases, wallpaper names
reflect the following naming convention:

Ubuntu Studio release number image is initially published to, e.g. 16.04

Image Name by Artist or Packager, e.g. Moonrise Hernandez New Mexico

Artist Name, e.g. Ansel Adams

Example: 1604_MoonriseHernandezNM_AnselAdams.png

ART TEAM NOTE: Hotwheel, by Lui Li Hua was in the top 3 throughout this
election cycle and was #1 in the final tally. Absent objections or
suggestions, I assign Hotwheel as the default wallpaper for the 16.04
release. As we are trying to beat feature freeze, please advise post
haste if this is unacceptable.

I will send out public notice of these results on 02/18/16.

[ubuntu-studio-devel] 16.04 Wallpaper Packaging

2016-02-10 Thread C. F. Howlett
Thank you, Ross!

I justed looked in the same package, and I *partially* understand what
is happening there. Glad you're on-board!

As soon as I tally the votes, I will send you the list with creator
names. I take it I should also send the wallpapers themselves? And
does I understand correctly that this will ultimately land on
launchpad? So many questions, but as I stated, this is all new to me.

[ubuntu-studio-devel] Community Wallpapers Clarification

2016-02-10 Thread C. F. Howlett
Yes, this would indeed a secondary, uninstalled and completely optional
package. Therefore it can be packaged at any time. Let's focus on the
16.04 release wallpaper packaging and offer this community package later.

[ubuntu-studio-devel] Wallpaper Packaging Help Request

2016-02-09 Thread C. F. Howlett
Greetings Art Team et al:

CALL TO ACTION:

As you may recall, Set and I have been coordinating the Xenial Xerus
Wallpaper Contest. Voting begins 02/11/16 and concludes 02/15/16 with
final results publicized 02/18/16, i.e. Feature Freeze.

There are many moving pieces that must be correctly aligned to package
and submit the wallpapers before the impending Feature Freeze deadline.
I have no experience and little time to get up to speed with Ubuntu
packaging, so I request assistance to pre-stage and prepare. Ideally,
we can "simply" drop in the documenation and source wallpapers to create
a completed .deb package.

As I understand it, the 14 pre-existing wallpapers should already be
fully documented and sourced. The incoming wallpapers must be
documented, sourced and packaged in advance of Feature Freeze. (Please
forgive the tight timeframe - inspiration for this effort came upon me
without regard to the release schedule.) I believe I am up to
documenting the wallpapers if someone can guide me but it would probably
be best if I hand the information off to an experienced packager!

NOTE:

The Art Team must select a default wallpaper! If I may be pre-emptive,
I heartily nominate Hotwheel from Li Hua Liu of the Ubuntu-Kylin team.
It's hot! It's cool! It's distinctive! It's creative! It's Ubuntu
Studio! See for yourself: h t t p s ://flic.kr/p/CMaK5W

PROPOSAL:

Package all wallpapers that are not selected. This gives all the
contributors a "win" and I have seen other *buntus do this. Perhaps
something like "UbuntuStudioXXCommunityWallpapers"?

HUMBLEBRAG:

The Ubuntu 16.04 Free Culture Showcase launched on 12/16/15. At the
moment, this group has 26 entries. The Ubuntu Studio 16.04 Wallpaper
Contest launched 01/09/16 and has 69 entries as of this writing. The
level of user interest in our comparatively obscure Ubuntu derivative
suggests that there is a receptive audience. I submit that we can and
should find more ways to leverage this interest to raise awareness of
Ubuntu Studio.

Thank you to Set, Kaj, and all others, named and unnamed, who have
helped out with this project!

[ubuntu-studio-devel] Wallpaper Contest PR

2016-01-21 Thread C. F. Howlett
I completely agree with Kaj. My access to social media is virtually
nill and will remain so until at least next week. I understand that Set
has been actively bouncing our message out on social media outlets. I
have directed messages to the relevant mailing lists and /subreddits.

So far, this seems to be working. We have much more User Contributed
Content on our Flickr page than even the Ubuntu Free Culture Showcase so
we must be doing something right!

The size of the ubuntu-sounds tarball nearly filled my email account. It is the
bottom 25MB free tier as I would never pay for email nor have an account with
any ad-supported or PRISM-compliant provider. Please try to avoid sending
anything over 10MB to my email or I could lose other emails that would bounce.

[ubuntu-studio-devel] Multimedia Workflow Documentation solution

2016-01-09 Thread C. F. Howlett

Hey All:

Klaatu produces SlackerMedia a multimedia spin of Slackware Linux. He
has also published excellent multimedia tools and documentation
<http://www.slackermedia.info/about/>. I was especially impressed by
his multimedia workflow graphics
<http://www.slackermedia.info/workflows/>. As per the correspondence
below, Klaatu has explicitly offered these materials for our use! As I
understand it, Ubuntustudio currently lacks uniform, branded
documentation. Klaatu's workflow graphics pack
<http://www.slackermedia.info/downloads/workflows.tbz> could fill that
need. I suggest we review these materials with an eye toward adoption
in Ubuntustudio.

Subject:Re: Multimedia Workflow Graphics licensing

I am shocked that I failed to make the licensing clear. Thanks for the
bug report :-)

The graphics, as with everything I do, can be licensed in one of two
ways: either CC-BY-SA v4.0 or as Gnu Free Documentation License (GFDL),
whichever fits easiest for you.

For Ubuntu, I don't really care about attribution (you're the good
guys); but if you give credit, then please give credit to "Klaatu at
Slackermedia.info"

If you need to change the licensing so it fits in better with your work
at Ubuntu Studio, let me know. I'm flexible.

Glad you like the graphics! if you need anything, let me know. I think
UbuntuStudio is amazing, and I'm happy to help.

PS:
If you're looking for more docs, checkout the Slackermedia Handbook
http://slackermedia.info/handbook

and also all articles in the Multimedia Makers column on OpenSource.com
https://opensource.com/tags/multimedia-makers-column

It's all CC-BY-SA / GFDL, so use whatever you want.

[ubuntu-studio-devel] Art Team: Ubuntustudio Design Assets questions

2016-01-06 Thread C. F. Howlett
As discussed previously in this channel, Set and I are coordinating an
Ubuntustudio 16.04 Wallpaper Contest to generate PR and new wallpaper
designs. Details are at:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuStudio/Artwork/UserShowcase

Unfortunately, my information is dated. I erroneously recommended that
contestants use deprecated US brandmarks. I have commented out those
assets on the wiki page. I am uncomfortably uncertain about
recommending the Ubuntustudio Circles.

I know we are all busy IRL doing other things, so, for now, I request a
definitive response to only two questions:

Precisely what Ubuntustudio brandmarks, logos or other design assets are
approved for use?

Where, exactly, can I find those approved assets?

Thank you in advance.

Hi List,

I'm in the midst of producing a showcase for Ubuntu-Studio users
production to be published in a series of posts on ubuntustudio.org and
its social-media satellites. The idea is to let the public know what can
be accomplished with Ubuntu-Studio by showing, rather than telling.
Therefor the series will be focusing on_productions_ made using
Ubuntu-studio and the_creative human behind the productions_.

The term production here is very broad; it can be anything from poems,
to prints, websites, via video, music and coding.

I would like to interview as many of you as possible, but depending on
the volume of response, i might not have the time to feature you all and
will work in the chronological order i receive the emails. However,
production that is Not Safe For Work will be disregarded. The interviews
will be done by email, and will consist of 3 to 4 questions about You
and your production.

If you are interested in participating, please address me on
pub...@sakrecoer.com and make sure you include links to your work in the
email.

*Do not send me attached files by email*.

Looking forward to see-, hear-, feel your work and to talk to you,

[ubuntu-studio-devel] Wallpaper contest

2015-12-21 Thread C. F. Howlett

Yeah about that:

I have looked at the art work produced for the other derivatives, and I
admit to a great deal of envy for ubuntukylin's design and prodigious
output.

I am unconvinced that we are fully obligated to comply with Canonical
Design requirements sole exception being logo use. As it happens, I
have the *official* ubuntustudio logos released by Ubuntu Design. I
would like to upload them to the bzr site, but I have yet to figure out
the method.

As regards the photography rules, I suggest that as a dedicated OS for
*art creation*, we have a wide discretion and latitude. I am not
suggesting a photographic free-for-all, but I submit that imposing
restraining rules on creative output is somewhat contradictory.

So: questions. Do we / should we have a wiki page? We have had a
community art page in the past, but it seems to be defunct. Should we
resurrect it?

Hi,

I tried to reach out to design.canonical and design.ubuntu, but i get no
answer. I think we should rip the other contests guide-lines off.

Anyways, all relevant information we need is here:
http://design.canonical.com/
and here:

We just need to adapt it to our own colors and CoF:)

I cleaned up the ubuntustudio-artwork branch, so make sure you cd into
your local ubuntustudio-artwork branch and do:
bzr pull (i think it is enough...?)

And let me know if something is wrong or a bad idea:)

Hi all, Hi Set Hallstr?m,

All that looks pretty fine. Thanks for your contribution and help.

Here, few things I propose for the 16.04 wallpaper collection :
1) I do a default wallpaper proposition.
2) I do collect pictures on deviantart.com and expose them on our
deviantart page :http://ubuntu-studio-da.deviantart.com/
After the agreement of picture owners, as the licence must be open
for sharing of course, we add them to our next release.
3) We do also a public contest (as proposed in previous posts) with a
wallpaper contest pool (on flickr ?) and votes.
I let cfhowlett and other volunteers organise that contest under the
command of Kaj Ailomaa and the Ubuntu Studio community.
I think that with those 3 points we should make a great wallpaper set.

Unfortunately I will not be available for the next two weeks, so sorry if I
don't answer to your questions and remarks during this period.

Keep on great work !

[ubuntu-studio-devel] Proposal: Ubuntustudio 16.04 Wallpaper Contest

2015-12-10 Thread C. F. Howlett

Greetings All:

Assuming this is the correct place to post this ...

I downloaded UbuntuKylin 15.10 wallpapers .deb recently. This distro
first saw the light of day in 2013 and it now has 115 wallpapers! By
comparison, ubuntustudio has ... 14?

As the primary focus for development is being directed to the LTS
releases, I suggest we consider a community wallpaper contest to
supplement the official paper(s) to come. We could invite contributions
from all flavors of ubuntu as well as specific applications, e.g.
Blender, Gimp and Krita.

In the past, the ubuntu community has hosted their wallpaper submissions
on Flickr. I believe we might do likewise.

Is anyone else working on this? If not would anyone else be interested?

[ubuntu-studio-devel] New User Documentation

2015-10-21 Thread C. F. Howlett

I have had a project in mind for some time.

Ubuntu used to include GIMP. On the desktop, there was a tutorial to
introduce very basic GIMP functions in the form of a user-built Ubuntu
logo image. Cool stuff. Sadly, removed in later releases. Likewise the
old Ubuntu sample media folder.

So, to my project;

Target audience: "I just installed ubuntustudio. Now what?" people

Format: a series of easy peasy, introductory tutorials using the major
apps in the focus areas. For instance:

SOUND > AUDACITY > Record your voice. Sample and remove background
noise. Edit sound for Darth Vader voice. Save and export.

Upon completion of the project, supply at least one tutorial.
Fortunately, the major apps already have basic tutorials. We just need
to highlight them.

Obviously, this is not the in-depth documentation currently under
discussion in another channel, but I believe it fills a need and would
give useful and welcome advice.

I'm not qualified to do all the tutorials, but I am willing to edit and
standardize the writing. Any interest???

[ubuntu-studio-devel] "elementary OS" ... ONE Ubuntustudio user's thoughts ...

2015-09-04 Thread C. F. Howlett
Perhaps I missed it, but I saw precious little consideration or
discussion in this thread about what Ubuntustudio USERS want/need from a
multimedia OS.

Ubuntu introduced me to the concept of "using" a computer outside of
what Windows could do. Free software? Online support? I can actually
do cool things? Consider me sold! And a few years after I first
experienced Ubuntu, Canonical released Ubuntustudio!? Winning! I had SO
MUCH fun doing all kinds of multimedia things that would otherwise have
been prohibitively expensive under my other OS, and I've happily
dualbooted Ubuntustudio since its first release.

In a universe of Linux choices, including several multimedia options,
I've stayed with Ubuntustudio for many reasons, not least being the
multiple and dynamic support options. I've not experienced any of the
purported downsides of Canonical "ownership" of Ubuntustudio.

I have seen and tested other distros. Should Ubuntustudio die, I have
selected a well-known alternate, but I truly hope it never comes to that.

What I WOULD like to see is concerted efforts to improve, proof and
polish the existing product. I fully support directing the bulk of the
efforts towards the LTS releases. I suspect ALL users would
enthusiastically welcome improved and updated documentation of the
various workflows. Finally, updating the list of "verified Ubuntu
friendly" hardware should be ongoing.

As always, nothing I have written should be construed as discouraging
anyone from creating another OS. It's just that THIS user would almost
certainly have no interest in it.

Thanks for reading. YMMV.

[ubuntu-studio-devel] Official Ubuntustudio brand assets

2013-11-17 Thread C. F. Howlett
Greetings:

I would like to contribute some art during this development cycle. Where
would I find the official US logos and such? I'd like to download and use
them.

[ubuntu-studio-devel] DE Annoyances

2013-11-17 Thread C. F. Howlett
Make no mistake, I love that UbuntuStudio is finally getting some serious and
long-deferred maintenance and development.

A minor annoyance perhaps; but can the next wallpaper NOT have barcodes? When
I think of creativity and freedom and open, the last thing on my mind is
barcodes...

Just sayin'

Ubuntu Studio Artwork

2013-03-14 Thread C. F. Howlett
A few random thoughts:

It seems to me that a new "official" theme should be introduced with each
LTS release. Where/how this theme is developed is not so important as is a
consistent look, feel and functionality with all UbuntuStudio parts.
Perhaps alternate introducing dark and light themes for each release?

Wallpapers: I'm surprised and disappointed that more community
contributions haven't been adopted ... or perhaps I missed the invitation
to participate? At any rate, perhaps a contest?

Can/would/should the XFCE team or community be willing to contribute to US
artwork in some fashion?

Finally if the goal is to generate community involvement, introductory
tutorials on DIY xfce themes and the various US tools graphic tools would
seem a welcome addition to the official US "Welcome New User!"
introduction.
Oh, and has Desktop Publishing really been abandoned as an Ubuntu Studio
component? No Scribus, no font manager ... just askin'.

Subject: Choosing Art for Ubuntu Studio
Message-ID:
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed; delsp=yes

= Creating Art for Ubuntu Studio =

Lately, we haven't been very active on creating art for Ubuntu Studio. Not
sure exactly how this has been managed back in the day when Ubuntu Studio
had its own gtk2 theme and so forth.
There are three ways I see how we can go about it in the future, and this
depends on what we want to achieve with the artwork.

Out of these three suggestions, I'd personally like to go with having a
art team work for us, but in order to make that happen, we need to find
some artists who are willing to work with us on this.

== 1. Art Team Develops the Artwork ==

With this solution, we have artists developing the artwork during the
development cycle, or over several cycles. Using this method, it would be
logical to strive for a unified theme, where all of the components - XFCE
theme, icon theme, wallpaper, and the look on our website and social sites
are all coherent, at least to some degree. It would mean there is some
kind of a schedule, with planned goals. It would also mean that we need to
get artists to join our team.

== 2. Submissions selected by Ubuntu Studio devs ==

We set dates, call for submissions, and then the team decides what goes
onto the ISO. It would be hard to have a unified theme experience this
way, but the team is still able to select items that they think go well
together, and what works with Ubuntu Studio, generally.

== 3. Community decides ==

We set dates, call for submissions, and have polls. The Ubuntu Studio team
could either let the users decide completely, or at a minimum decide what
submissions will be up for a vote.

= Choosing wallpaper for this cycle =

As for the current problem on selecting the wallpaper - we haven't really
discussed how to go about it. And we need to do that pretty fast. User
interface freeze is March 21st
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/RaringRingtail/ReleaseSchedule.

The situation right now is that we have one of my wallpapers as default on
the ISO (just got it in yesterday)
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuStudio/Artwork/RockTheme, but it's not a
final decision in any way.

We have gotten a few suggestions so far. It's not much, but enough to put
together some kind of vote. So, should we let our users decide (if we do
that, I'd rather we do it on social channels and mail lists alike, and use
some kind of poll service), or do we let the devs decide (which would be
faster)?

I would like to include the best of what has been suggested so far in any
case, no matter which one is chosen as default.

Ubuntu Studio Oneiric Original Artist or Source Files?

2013-01-06 Thread C. F. Howlett
Official Oneiric

During the run up to Oneiric's release, new official artwork was proposed.
I would very much like to use the "Etched Ubuntu Studio ..." wallpapers.
Sadly, no one seems to know who the original artist is or where the source
files might me. These appear to be "Official" images as user contributed
art is directed elsewhere. The images displayed have the overlaid text and
are NOT offered in any other size, so I can't use them.

Any help? Thank you in advance.

Ona related topic, Ubuntu USED to ship with a tutorial showing how to create
glowing "Ubuntu" text in Gimp. That tutorial was, in fact, my introduction to
Gimp. I haven't seen it in the past few versions. Perhaps it's time for

RE: colour selection app

2012-07-28 Thread C. F. Howlett

I may have confused the Agave app with a color wheel selection tool. At
present, at least 2 gnome based color managers are installed in US, so they
are present and accounted for. I consider that request fulfilled.

Scribus, Font Forge, Font Matrix, and Libre Office Writer "should" satisfy
basic publishing needs. I sent a query to the Full Circle Magazine team about
this and will share their response.

For Desktop Publishing, the premier FOSS app seems to be Scribus.

A FontManager for sorting, selecting, cataloging

A FontForge for editing/CREATING fonts

A color selection app

Publishing/Desktop Publishing/DTP

2012-07-20 Thread C. F. Howlett

Greetings All: Having recently clean installed 12.04 as an upgrade from 10.04,
a couple of things immediately became clear; XCFE/Xubuntu is a different beast
than Gnome/Ubuntu and will take some getting used to. It's a matter of
reprogramming muscle memory and getting accustomed to the new arrangement.
Desktop Publishing/DTP appears to have been dropped from the default menus. I
was asked for some font advice and confidently went to US to create a quick
font catalog only to find no such tools available in the default installation.
Likewise, the website authoring tools appear to have been dropped. I can see
dropping the website tools, but the DTP tools? In the past, such tools have
included Scribus and the various font creation and management apps. I'm
saddened that they're no longer offered in the default configuration, though it
must be said that I've had much more success attracting potential users to US
with the audio/visual tools than with the publishing tools. Still and all, I'm
heartened that US has and will continue to evolve. I look forward to the next
LTS release.--

Some very nice wallpapers were proposed for 11.10 but they were not
selected for inclusion. I've not been able to find a source file, so it
seems they're not available anywhere for download except as shown here:

Can we please get these released, even if they're NOT to be included in

Greetings:

Guess I got over excited and didn't read the fine print. I THOUGHT this
was the new default wallpaper for
10.10...http://shitsukesen.deviantart.com/#/d2v4pyx

It's attractive, easy on the eye and neatly fits a design oriented
distro. I already downloaded and applied it to my desktop, but it's got
my vote for official inclusion.

Interestingly, the fedora folk have also picked up on the "blue" theme.

Ubuntu Studio Art

2010-06-30 Thread C. F. Howlett

Brian:

OUTSTANDING looking art! I'm still a long ways from being able to craft
anything so polished, but these definitely reflect the concept I had in mind
when I started thinking about a "Created with Ubuntu Studio" stamp. I
particularly appreciate that the overall design is now centered as opposed to
the offset appearance utilized in the current Ubuntu Studio logo.

FWIW: I hope the current Ubuntu Studio COF is kept as is. I've grown to love
it.

Ubuntu Studio artwork proposal

2010-06-14 Thread C. F. Howlett
Greetings Ubuntu Studio Users:

Forgive me if this issue has been addressed or implemented before. I'm
still learning my way around the various communities and projects and
might well have missed relevant efforts. But if I have the privilege of
actually proposing a viable innovation...

As I look around the coffee shop to see who else is availing themselves
of the free and fast wifi connection, one thing becomes obvious; most of
these folks are Mac users.

I live in a town which is effectively a suburb of a major city. Most of
my fellow wifi explorers are high school or college students or the
occasional business person.

I trust it's not too heretical to state my opinion that Apple designs
excellent hardware and software. However, the thought of locking myself
into Apple's vertical matrix is even more objectionable than the cost
of acquiring a "premium" computer. So, I have become an avid student
and user of Ubuntu Studio.

One has to appreciate the rabid adoration of the Mac crowd as well as
admire the integration of all things Mac into a fairly cohesive and
persistent marketing effort. For example, scroll to the bottom of this
web site;
http://www.faculty.fairfield.edu/faculty/hodgson/Courses/so191/Projects2007/Stott/Site/Welcome.html

"Made on a Mac"
http://innovationfeeder.files.wordpress.com/2007/11/made-on-a-mac.jpg

Simple, elegant, effective and memorable. Apple officially licensed
this art for some time;
http://www.theapplecollection.com/various/MacMade/AppleWebBadgesMadeOn.html
 and dictated a standard usage policy;
http://www.apple.com/about/webbadges/index.html. Naturally, Apple users
also crafted their own vision of this art;
http://allaboutiweb.com/index.php/2008/08/free-custom-badges/. Apple no
doubt condones if not outright supports such innovation resulting in
some enviable endorsements; http://the-tech.mit.edu/Projects/Macmade/.

So, my point; shouldn't we have a similar, and no doubt superior, item
for our favorite distro? Personally, I've elected to include something
along these lines in whenever I can;
http://spreadubuntu.neomenlo.org/files/Tabbed%
20Tearsheet.sla-page1_0.jpeg and
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7001421/Washington%20Ubuntu/Ubuntu%20Card.pdf,
but I would really like to see as an OFFICIAL "Made in Ubuntu" type
piece for marking our creations. It could be effectively deployed in
print and electronic mediums. I believe that this item would help
promote the Ubuntu Studio distribution and, as an added benefit, knock a
bit of SMUG out of the Mac crowd. Just sayin...

Ubuntu Studio developers and users; What say ye?
