[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 395024] [NEW] Unsupported Device 0x10de07e3 (GeForce 7050/nForce 610i)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nv After update on Karmic and reboot, binary blob driver failed to load, server failed to load NV and vesa drivers. Had to manually reconfigure the X server to use Vesa in order to report this bug. Used apport to automatically collect the information, but anything else you need I'll report. For now, back to an older kernel for me. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 372679] Re: No keyboard or Mouse on Login Screen
please re-open, I have this same issue with a fresh install of Ubuntu Studio 9.04 (amd64). I have tested with both usb and ps2 QWERTY and mouse. As Mind0ne states, the mouse and keyboard cease to function at the login splash - however all usb ports are still active, as a few of my devices stay lit up when there is no driver present. I did some digging and saw this type of issue in 8.10 an various forum threads like this: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1023153 however there seems to be no working solution. I am willing to attach whatever files are needed to diagnose, if someone could give me the steps to do so. thanks! -- No keyboard or Mouse on Login Screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/372679 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Regarding 'swapy' being treated as a bool by HAL, I quote the x11-input.fdi file from freedesktop.org: You MUST specify all options as strings, otherwise the server will ignore them. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 378572] Re: evtouch calibrate axis inversion feature needed
I am having problems as well. I have tried these variants: merge key=input.x11_options.swapy type=string1/merge merge key=input.x11_options.swapy type=booltrue/merge merge key=input.x11_options.SwapY type=stringOn/merge merge key=input.x11_options.inverty type=booltrue/merge None of them do anything to swap my Y axis. Some of them seem to affect the output of lshal and I get a 'swapy (bool)' equalling 'true', but this doesn't seem to take effect anywhere. Also, adding a 'ReportingMode' value of 'Raw' doesn't show up in lshal, not that it seems to matter if I have that in there or not. Finally, manually swapping the values of 'miny' and 'maxy' has no effect whatsoever. I can tell that all my other settings are working, because the scale of my cursor movement is now correct. I am able to configure my touchscreen in xorg.conf, but this is deprecated, and I need to have hotplug working. -- evtouch calibrate axis inversion feature needed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/378572 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xf86-input-evtouch in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

I got a freeze again, so option 4) ist definitely not true. Furthermore Composite is still disabled so this is not a workaround for the problem. I'm encountering this issue on a travelmate tm8204wlmi with an ati x1600 card. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 395153] [NEW] always additional left-click-event after left- or right-click
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse Hello! I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 guest OS + Vmware Tools on WinXP host. xserver- xorg-input-vmmouse helps me getting a seamless mouse between guest and host, but there is an annoying issue: Whenever I press the left or the right mouse button, another left- click-event is sent instantly after release of the button. In the terminal this results in: normal leftclick - marks a whole line normal rightclick - opens context menu and instantly executed first entry (open terminal) press left button, wait - mark some characters, stay over them... release - marked characters are in clipboard press right button, wait - context menu opens, move around and stay over an arbitrary entry... release - this entry is executed In general, it's clear that it's not easy to work with this strange behaviour :-) Maybe it's even an additional left-click-event after each click- event, e.g. after clicking the middle mouse button, too. But I don't know how to test this. The problem spontaneously appears as single click taken as double click, and I found another person who experienced it: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse/+bug/248521/comments/54 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse/+bug/248521/comments/58 But, in contrast to him, I had no success by modifying my xorg.conf. I even deleted all Input Devices but it did not help. To get the desired mouse behaviour back, I had to remove xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse. But this is not what I want :-) I almost have no idea how do debug such input device related stuff. Please request logs/infos you need! I will deliver them asap. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 315336] Re: [i915] Jaunty - Intel video is not hot-pluggable
Hi Bryce, I tested this on Karmic and I have good and bad news. The good news is that X no longer needs to be started with the VGA cable plugged in for the monitor to be detected. The bad news is that when something gets fixed, something else breaks. There are a few regressions which do not make gnome-display-properties usable. Regressions: 1 - Series of popups due to #2 2 - Not able to mirror screen any longer 3 - Not able to ALT-grab window so that I can click OK (gconftool-2 --set /apps/compiz/plugins/move/allscreens/options/constrain_y --type bool 0 should be a default setting as I think it was in Jaunty. 4 - Identify monitor is ALWAYS on (top left corner) when gnome-display-properties is open. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 349412] [NEW] GMA950 + external lcd does not work on high resolution
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I have Acer Aspire 5710Z with Intel GMA950 graphic card and VGA out. Last week I bought a new lcd monitor Samsung SyncMaster 2343nw with VGA input and with resolution of 2048x1152. My operating system is Ubuntu 8.10 When I plugged it in, I can only get 1440x900 out of that external lcd with 1200x800 on internal monitor. I changed Virtual resolution in xorg.conf to 2048x2048(maximum for GMA) and set my external monitor to be on top. I can get then 2 monitors with extended desktop and Compiz fully working, but anything above 1440x900 resolution on external lcd cause some strange artefacts on it. I can't see anything there on that desktop. I configure only the virtual resolution in xorg.conf and resolution in gnome with screen resolution applet.
