[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 815978] Re: EDID information not read
The logs you've provided don't seem to have an attempt at connecting the TV in them? Could you please try connecting your TV, set a mode on it (either 1024x768 or 800x600, it doesn't matter) and then attach the output of “dmesg” and your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file? That should help narrow down what's going wrong. Gah! The poulsbo driver couldn't do something useful, like log *anything* to dmesg, could it? So, we either need the DDX component of the poulsbo driver or to blacklist the kernel module. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 562005] Re: Backlight controls of laptops with NVIDIA NVS and Quadro FX 880M GPUs no longer function while using proprietary drivers
Unsurprisingly, this problem remains in the latest ubuntu-x-swat nvidia driver, 280.13. There seems to be some kind of a fairly recent problem with nvidia backlight controls in the mactel community, with a few bugs filed (like #764195). [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 798787] Re: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental lacks 32-bit binaries for amd64
We don't actually ship 32bit libraries in any of the amd64 mesa packages. The support you're seeing for other cards comes from the 32bit libGL/dri libraries in ia32-libs. Reassigning to that package. Note that dpkg-multiarch is implemented in Oneiric, so you can just install the 32bit packages directly from the archive with “apt-get install libgl1-mesa-glx:i386”. As such, ia32-libs is going away, and this bug might be marked as invalid or wontfix. ** Package changed: mesa (Ubuntu) => ia32-libs (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/798787 Title: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental lacks 32-bit binaries for amd64 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ia32-libs/+bug/798787/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 733192] Re: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in brw_upload_state()
This bug has been marked WONTFIX upstream as this can only trigger when the GPU hangs and so there's no way to gracefully recover 3D. Crashing the 3D using program is as good a response as any; it's guaranteed not to function with a hung GPU anyway. I'm going to mark this bug as invalid. If you run into this bug then the debugging information necessary is that referred to by Bryce in comment #44 - dmesg and i915_error_state, filed as a new bug. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 777956] Re: X display with Intel i915 driver occasionally goes blank after resume from suspend
Hmm... nobody responded. I found a few posting on Ubuntu Forums which might or might not be relevant: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1467927 * This one says flickering about once a minute. I did not experience this. I did experience occasional flickering but not as often as once a minute. The flicker is very quick and the display goes back to normal. I was afraid if this was my hardware error; but now I suspect it is probably software-related. * The "solution" mentioned there (about disabling RANDR service) does not apply to me. Apparently it is for KDE-based Ubuntu desktop; I am using GNOME. * But there is a mention about a bug in Lucid intel driver (see post #10): "For what I've read, there's a bug on Lucid with the Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset, and it hasn't been fixed, so we're out of luck. If anyone else knows more about this, please let us know!" No specific reference pointed out. I wonder if the bug is related to black screen problem I occasionally have. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/777956 Title: X display with Intel i915 driver occasionally goes blank after resume from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/777956/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 582809] Re: Synaptics Clickpad touchpad buttons are not working
I have applied the fixes from #190 and #208 and everything works fine except for the button (and LED) to disable the trackpad. /var/log/kern.log shows Aug 1 17:59:55 ubuntu kernel: [ 32.677910] Synaptics Touchpad, model: 1, fw: 8.0, id: 0x1e2b1, caps: 0xd00123/0xc40300/0x123c00 Aug 1 17:59:55 ubuntu kernel: [ 32.708628] input: SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad as /devices/platform/i8042/serio4/input/input10 and it is missing the two lines mentioned in #193. Notice that the fw and id are different too, so I probably have a newer version of the trackpad that is not recognized properly. Does anyone know how to get the LED working on that newer model? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/582809 Title: Synaptics Clickpad touchpad buttons are not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-release-notes/+bug/582809/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 62587] Re: Ligatures problem in Arabic keyboard layout
The proper solution is to work on the patch at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=537457 Once this is done, both Arabic and Khmer will work out of the box. I am not motivated to work on this at this time ;-'(, so what some people can do is use the nasty workaround that enables 'XIM'. To use 'XIM' is a workaround, it we should not become part of Ubuntu. The proper solution is to work on https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=537457 and I think there is time to make it for gtk+3.2. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xkeyboard-config in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/62587 Title: Ligatures problem in Arabic keyboard layout To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xkeyboard-config/+bug/62587/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 819684] [NEW] No video after logout on Lenovo x220
Public bug reported: Not every time, but many times when I logout the screen goes blank and never comes back. I try switching to a text login (i.e. vt2) and I still get nothing. The only way to rectify the situation is to switch to a text vt - even though there is no video - and press the power button to initiate a controlled shutdown (not a hard power off). Not sure what trouble shooting information I can get you so please let me know if you need additional information.
