[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1003080] Re: 10de:03d6 Unreadable screen occurs opening LibreOffice
The nouveau drivers do not support my display resolution (1600x900), thus I was unable to evaluate the bug using the open source drivers. After re-installing the Nvidia 302.17, I now find that the problem does not occur on the first instance of starting LibreOffice. still present in 12.04 (64bit) with the 295.49 (X-Updates) drivers on the GeForce 210. Not sure what data is attached to this bug, but it's probably a pretty reproducible problem... + Time: 1342061673 s 623288 us + PCI ID: 0x0046 + EIR: 0x + IER: 0x8e2480b1 + PGTBL_ER: 0x + fence[0] = 932e932a00d + fence[1] = 11340b350bd + fence[2] = 654e5f4f0bd + fence[3] = 23b91dba0bd + fence[4] = bb0fab101ad + fence[5] = 6596656708d + fence[6] = 936e932f09d + fence[7] = 6917659808d + fence[8] = 1c47184809d + fence[9] = 7f086f091ad + fence[10] = 1ce81c990bd + fence[11] = 1d481ce90ed + fence[12] = 3c7e3c1f0ed + fence[13] = 3cfe3c7f0ef + fence[14] = + fence[15] = + render command stream: + HEAD: 0x0500bb38 + TAIL: 0xbd78 + ACTHD: 0x0500bb38 + IPEIR: 0x + IPEHR: 0x0182 + INSTDONE: 0xfffe + INSTDONE1: 0xbfff + BBADDR: 0x11900013 + INSTPS: 0x + INSTPM: 0x + FADDR: 0xcb38 + seqno: 0x87fb + waiting: yes + ring-head: 0x000142c8 + ring-tail: 0xbd78 + ProblemType: Crash DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.19.0-1ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-4.4-generic 3.5.0-rc6 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-4-generic x86_64 .tmp.unity.support.test.0: - + ApportVersion: 2.3-0ubuntu4 Architecture: amd64 Chipset: arrandale CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz Date: Wed Jul 11 19:54:33 2012 DistUpgraded: 2012-06-30 11:24:03,081 DEBUG enabling apt cron job DistroCodename: quantal DistroVariant: ubuntu DuplicateSignature: [arrandale] GPU lockup IPEHR: 0x0182 Ubuntu 12.10 ExecutablePath: /usr/share/apport/apport-gpu-error-intel.py ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes, even including gdb or git bisection work if needed GraphicsCard: - Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0046] (rev 02) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) -Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:21c1] + Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0046] (rev 02) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) + Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:21c1] InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin - Alpha amd64 (20120104) InterpreterPath: /usr/bin/python3.2mu MachineType: LENOVO 2901CTO ProcCmdline: /usr/bin/python3 /usr/share/apport/apport-gpu-error-intel.py ProcEnviron: - + ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.5.0-4-generic root=UUID=677292b2-a7ba-4d9e-8f1a-662c546b62ce ro intel_iommu=igfx_off splash quiet RelatedPackageVersions: - xserver-xorg 1:7.7+1ubuntu1 - libdrm2 2.4.33-3 - xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.19.0-1ubuntu2 + xserver-xorg 1:7.7+1ubuntu1 + libdrm2 2.4.33-3 + xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.19.0-1ubuntu2 SourcePackage: xserver-xorg-video-intel Title: [arrandale] False GPU lockup IPEHR: 0x0182 UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to quantal on 2012-06-30 (11 days ago) UserGroups: - + dmi.bios.date: 12/12/2011 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: 6UET68WW (1.48 ) dmi.board.name: 2901CTO dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: Not Available dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: Not Available dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvr6UET68WW(1.48):bd12/12/2011:svnLENOVO:pn2901CTO:pvrThinkPadT410s:rvnLENOVO:rn2901CTO:rvrNotAvailable:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNotAvailable: dmi.product.name: 2901CTO dmi.product.version: ThinkPad T410s dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO version.compiz: compiz 1:0.9.8+bzr3249-0ubuntu2 version.ia32-libs: ia32-libs N/A version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.33-3 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 8.0.3-0ubuntu1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 8.0.3-0ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.12.1.902-1ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:2.7.0-0ubuntu2 version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.14.99~really6.14.4-0ubuntu2 version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.19.0-1ubuntu2 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.1-1build1 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 993187] Re: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently.
I never use my intel gpu anyway, since I have an nvidia graphics card in a desktop pc. So finally, having had enough of this miserable bug, i blacklisted the intel gpu. I blacklisted the i915 module like this, in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf: blacklist i915 blacklist i915_drm_kms_helper The second line may be redundant (that module should not load without i915). I feel as though a great and terrible weight has been lifted. The i915 module is broken, and I don't know how to fix it, but at least I am free of these crashes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993187 Title: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 946589] Re: Xorg crashes in Precise with Dual Screens
This issue is still present even now. When installing 12.04 again on my main pc, and rearranging the desktops after fulling updating my computer, my system instantly froze again. Also, after my initial boot up my computer would randomly flash black and then freeze shortly after the picture reappearedSo far my experience with AMD card with Ubuntu has been less than satisfactory. The fglrx drivers work as expected, though I get errors when trying to install them with Jockey and had to install it via the command line. Also, with the xorg edgers ppa and the latest 3.5 kernel all the AMD problems go away..I very sincerely hope that in the time the next Ubuntu release comes out (or even this one) we can just use the now-working drivers found in the xorg-edgers, and not break them -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/946589 Title: Xorg crashes in Precise with Dual Screens To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/946589/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
