[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1664397] Re: Mouse trails and distorted cursor on 2nd monitor
Upgrading to a non-LTS version has it's downsides, and I have read reports of people that experience the same problems after upgrading up to 17.04. I now installed an Intel version of the 21.20.16.4590 driver for Windows 10 from the Lenovo website, but it's actually not meant for the P50 laptop with Intel P530 graphics but for the X260 and T460 instead with Intel P520 graphics: http://pcsupport.lenovo.com/nl/en/downloads/ds105823. It installed without complaining though, but I don't know if it also tried to replace the graphics firmware ... ... the mouse pointer is still flickering and dissapearing though. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1664397] Re: Mouse trails and distorted cursor on 2nd monitor
First of all I do have to mention: I do not have mouse trails, but only a dissapearing and flickering mouse cursor! I'm on Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS running in a dualboot configuration with a (preinstalled) Windows Pro with a bunch of drivers managed by Lenovo. The Intel P530 graphics driver in windows is updated upto 21.20.16.4550. On the Lenovo support website there is talk about a version 21.20.16.4590, but when I click on the link they mention, it brings me back to the 21.20.16.4550 driver instead. See: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/Update-for-Intel-graphics-driver-on-P50/td-p/3597712 And also the mentioned link to ...4590 ... which turns about to be the 4550 version: http://pcsupport.lenovo.com/nl/en/downloads/ds119528 What am I missing? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1664397 Title: Mouse trails and distorted cursor on 2nd monitor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1664397/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1278223] Re: Mouse Flickering after adding 3rd Monitor
I have the same problem. Mouse flickering on two of my three screens. I have two video-cards, both ATI HD6770 (Not in cross-fire). One card is only connected to one monitor, the other is connected with two monitors. Only on the vga-card connected with two monitors, the mouse cursor flickers. I am using MATE desktop and it started when using hardware acceleration on desktop. Switching hardware acceleration off, clears the problem. But I wanted transparent terminals and all the other fancy stuff. So after installing ccm (Compiz configuration manager) and playing around with it, I can fix the problem very simple. BUT, only until I reboot the system. Then I have to do the same thing over again. I have to go to ccm. Click on the opengl settings. Disable Framebuffer object. And then immediately enable it. Calling eglGetDisplay(xmir_screen->gbm) instead works as expected. ** Affects: mesa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: mir (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: mir (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1414999 Title: double free in mir egl display when calling eglTerminate and gbm_device_destroy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1414999/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1412441] [NEW] [MIR] libclc
Public bug reported: Availability: - Already in universe and available on applicable archs. Rationale: - Allows enabling support for OpenCL in mesa. Security: - No files installed suid, sgid. - No binaries installed in sbin. - Not a plugin to security sensitive software. - Not a daemon or opening a sensitive port. Quality assurance: - Should work without configuration. - No debconf questions. - No long-term outstanding bugs and updates by debian. The status of important bugs in Debian's, Ubuntu's, and upstream's bug tracking systems must be evaluated. Links to these bug trackers need to be provided in the MIR report. Important bugs must be pointed out and discussed in the MIR report. https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?ordering=normal;archive=0;src=libclc;dist=unstable;repeatmerged=0 - No open bugs found. 1 bug found in ubuntu's bug tracker. Likely a user error because with manual bug verification it's shown that the bug is invalid. Package is used for nvidia and r600 opencl support. Testsuite cannot run, it requires the proprietary nvidia drivers. debian/watch is empty, but explained in debian/watch why. UI standards: Not applicable. Dependencies: clang is in universe, but the clang source package llvm is in main. Standards compliance: Should meet standard, no lintian overrides or warnings. Maintenance: Simple package, low maintenance effort, and maintained well in Debian. Background information: Required to enable opencl support in mesa. Mesa will need clang too, so the added deps will be needed. ** Affects: libclc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Maarten Lankhorst (mlankhorst) Status: New ** Changed in: libclc (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Maarten Lankhorst (mlankhorst) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to libclc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1412441 Title: [MIR] libclc To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libclc/+bug/1412441/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1386620] Re: re-enable rotation for the intel driver in optimus mode
I've verified xorg-server rotation works correctly. On utopic I had issues with rotation, when using xrandr --output HDMI1 --rotate left in normal mode. Bisecting it shows it was caused by introducing dri3 support, and cherry picking some upstream patches fixed it. The trusty patches to xxv-intel don't introduce dri3 support so it's unaffected by the hang I've discovered. But on trusty with those patches rotation works for me as it should. :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1386620 Title: re-enable rotation for the intel driver in optimus mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/1386620/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1386620] [NEW] re-enable rotation for the intel driver in optimus mode
Public bug reported: [Impact] * The fix for bug #1308515 prevents rotation from being used. * Rotation support should be added to the intel driver to maintain feature parity when optimus is used vs when not in use. [Test Case] * Run xrandr --output SOMEOUTPUT --rotation left - Expected: Screen should rotate. - Bad behavior: Succeeds, but causes a black screen. OR the call fails, and screen is not rotated. [Regression Potential] * Will probably regress when modesetting is used, a separate patch might be needed to disable transforms on modesetting. Will have to be tested. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1365490] Re: ubuntu 12.04.5 broken on VMware
** Description changed: + [Impact] + + A user might find Ubuntu 12.04.5 unusable on vmware because he would + face a black screen after logging in. Although there is a workaround + (disabling 3D) a user may have given up at that point. + + Backporting will help the user run the distro after upgrading, so I + believe it's highly justified. + + [Test Case] + + On VMware Workstation 10, Install Ubuntu 12.04.5, preferrably using "easy install". + Boot the VM, log in. You'll see a black screen only. + + [Regression Potential] + + The bug affects a function that impots a shared buffer to the 3D driver. + The function is completely broken by the bug. Even if the patch should + introduce another type of breakage, the problem couldn't be much worse + than it already is, and should be confined to the specific function in + question. + + [Other info] + + Due to different stack ordering of automatic variables, the bug may or + may not be visible depending on the C compiler and the level of + optimization used. For example, if -O0 -g is used the bug is not visible + on 12.04.5. I have not encountered any symptoms of the bug yet on 14.04. + + [ Original bug report ] Ubuntu 12.04.5 shows a black screen after login with 3D enabled on VMware. This is due to a bug in the svga gallium driver's winsys. It's recently fixed in mesa master commit 2d6206140a, "winsys/svga: Fix incorrect type usage in IOCTL v2", with a request to backport to mesa stable, but I'm not sure whether anyone's still maintaining the 10.1 branch. Due to the severity of the symptoms it would be greatly appreciated if this fix could be incorporated in the libgl1-mesa-dri-lts-trusty package as soon as possible. Hey, It is my opinion the autopkgtests themselves were broken, but I've added explicit depends in mesa to always force libgl1-mesa-dri to be installed when libgl1-mesa-dri, libegl1-mesa or libgbm1 are installed. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1374131] Re: qtcreator-plugin autopkgtest fails on AMD64 mesa mesa_10.3.0
Ok, it also seems that libgbm1 was pulling in libgl1-mesa-dri directly in 10.2.6, this is why libgl1-mesa-dri was installed in the first place. /usr/lib/$ARCH/gbm/gbm_gallium_drm.so was linking to the shared libgallium.so . This no longer happens with 10.3.0 because we drop the patches that build gallium shared, because upstream handles it better. I would say this proves that the tests are all broken and need to add an explicit depend on libgl1-mesa-dri somewhere. I've managed to reproduce this. This seems to be caused because swrast is now linked into the gallium megablob as well. Before llvmpipe was statically linked into libGL.so Adding a depends on libgl1-mesa-dri to libegl1-mesa and libgl1-mesa-glx should fix things. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1364003] Re: [FFE] mesa 10.3
I've done some more testing just in case, and it looks like there are no regressions on llvmpipe on 32-bits or 64-bits, only new tests passing. I've also done a comparison of 32-bits llvmpipe against 64-bits, and it looks like there's probably a small issue on the teximage-colors with GL_UNSIGNED_INT. This is not a regression though, it was already the case in 10.2.6. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1364003 Title: [FFE] mesa 10.3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1364003/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
