[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 515501] Re: Lucid 2.6.32-12 cursor invisible
Hrm, well that sucks that a cosmetic issue is replaced by a crash! But since this bug was about the invisible cursor and it seems gone with -16, we should close this bug report and consider it fixed. I'd love it if you could get a bug filed on the crash report. See if you can reproduce it on -16, restart on -15, and then file the bug report. If not, see if you can manually collect a full backtrace on the bug (see http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Backtracing). You could check in your Xorg.0.log or gdm log files for backtraces too. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Fix Released -- Lucid 2.6.32-12 cursor invisible https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/515501 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

I'm running Lucid in Virtualbox (PUEL) and the same thing happens when I install the guest additions, but I have an Nvidia card (9400) in the host system. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 515501] Re: Lucid 2.6.32-12 cursor invisible
[This is an automatic notification.] Thanks for reporting this bug to help making the -ati graphics driver better. We hear from upstream that a number of bugs (possibly including this one) have been fixed in the newer DRM code from the 2.6.33 kernel. I don't know if your bug is one of the ones fixed in this release, though, but we've prepared a PPA with this DRM update. Would you mind installing this, rebooting, and testing if the original issue can be reproduced with it or not? The DRM PPA is here: https://edge.launchpad.net/~apw/+archive/red Note there could be new bugs... please file these as new reports using the command 'ubuntu-bug linux' (for kernel or DRM or KMS bugs) or 'ubuntu-bug xorg' if you suspect them to be X.org issues. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- Lucid 2.6.32-12 cursor invisible https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/515501 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 515501] Re: Lucid 2.6.32-12 cursor invisible
I have a similar problem since upgrading Lucid Alpha 2 to 2.6.32-12. My system boots to a different virtual terminal which does display the cursor, I then use CTRL+ALT+F7 to show the login screen. But then my system just freezes.
