I honestly don't know. With so little to go on (only you were there), I can't tell you exactly what went wrong. So my suggestion is start over and do it again. Carefully. Make sure everything works as you go through the process. It took me a lot of tries before I got it right and it's easy to miss something. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 2.00
Never mind, I guess I will try to be patient then. Meanwhile, I set up the beta version of max2play with LMS on the new RPi 3, and it seems to work very well with all my players and my music library on a USB HDD. However, the idea of a very lightweight distribution running everything in RAM and not risking to corrupt the SDCard in case of power failure still appeals to me, and I have very good experience with piCorePlayer so far, so when a candidate release of piCorePlayer is ready for RPi 3, I am still willing to test. The only real "show stopper" at the moment, will affect any HAT boards where the codec is clock/frame master, rather than the Pi3B. eg. HiFiBerryDAC+ Pro, and Digi type boards with WM8804. I wonder how quickly this is going to get sorted, but my advice would be for people to stay away from anything complicated, and stick with the usual suspects, ES9023, PCM5122 (in slave), until it is resolved. Don't think you should shy away from providing a Pi3B compatible release, because of the audio side of things. Your real reason for being wary should be over the lack of clarification over the proprietary Broadcom firmware files for wifi/BT, whether they are re-distributable, and under what LICENSE, assuming people with Pi3B's want the onboard wifi/BT to work with a non-Raspbian distribution. (The on-board wifi is appalling anyway for all sorts of reasons, IMHO. Blacklist it and use a dongle! ;)) The serial console on mini_uart, (the "full fat" UART now being used for BT), and needing to lock the clock speed, whether that be low or with force_turbo is another fustercluck, but I doubt there are many Pico users, using serial console. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 2.00
I saw on the piCorePlayer home page a couple of reports that piCorePlayer 2.0x does not work with the new RPi 3 board. If that information is correct, it is a bit of a pity... I just got my hand on my first RPi 3 because I intend to install Logitech Media Server on it, and in a previous post I was recommended to use at least a RPi 2 for that purpose. In case somebody has a beta version for testing with the RPi 3, I will be willing to help with that. Also any suggestions for workarounds to get piCorePlayer 2.02 working will be greatly appreciated! I use jivelite on wifi as well, generally with no problems. I had to change wifi dongles and this caused something similar, jivelite couldn't see the server. but squeezelite still worked. Reinstalling jivelite fixed the problem. My guess is that jivelite was still using the mac address of the old dongle, but it is just a guess IanH99's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64902 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105301 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: Squeezelite - a small headless squeezeplay emulator for linux (alsa only)
Hi Clive, thanks for your reply! I thought more about modifying the squeezelite code to tell the LMS about the volume changes of the Alsa-Mixer-Device that is connected to squeezelite with the "-V" parameter on startup, rather than changing the way the rotary encoder is applying updates on the volume. So maybe more like squeezelite is announcing its player name and other settings to the LMS (a similar call when the volume of the Alsa-Mixer changes should be fine). The IR module in squeezelite seems to control the LMS directly - my bad choosing this example... Yes - I am the developer of Max2Play, which offers a free web interface (framework) and customized Raspberry Pi and ODROID images. The main parts like the Audioplayer-Setup (squeezelite, shairport), LMS-Installer, Kodi-Setup and customized options for dedicated DACs are free to use and to share (see Website/Github). Main goal of Max2Play is to make this great software (squeezebox technology) usable for a bigger audience by offering simple installers and complete setups. There are also other addons (e.g. 1-click-setup accesspoint, connect bluethooth speakers,...) and the email/forum-support that is not free. To answer you question: A user asked about this feature. If there is a way to build it (most likely with your or Ralphys help), it will be part of the free software, and I would be happy to see it becoming a part of the squeezelite code as this seems to me like a good idea (for all projects using squeezelite) - what do you think? @DJanGo: well - a mousewheel is a solution - although it's not the prettiest one ;) 2 x Max2Play on ODROID U2/U3 with LMS, Squeezelite, Shairport, XBMC 1 x Squeezebox Receiver 1 x Denon 1713 AVR + Nubert 5.1 System iPeng Max2Play Webinterface and SD-Image: http://www.max2play.com/ Max2Play Shop: http://shop.max2play.com/ flysurfer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=61064 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97046 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
