Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 3.5.0
Hi, I have been running Pcp version 3.5 on my Pi3 with Dac+ for a few months. Since trying to update to the latest Pcp, LMS has only been able to scan and recognise music on my usb and network drives but no songs are able to be played. I have tried a fresh format and etch of Pcp using 3.5. All went well. Then updated LMS which appeared to have been successful. However, although the list of songs on usb and network drives are visible I am still unable get any music playing. Tapping on the play button does not transfer the selected song to the playlist or start the song playing!?! What have I overlooked? Any assistance and suggestions will be appreciated. nuryev's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68769 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108852 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 4.0.0
hi fsger, Since pCP4.0.0 we have made the wifi very flexible. https://www.picoreplayer.org/how_to_setup_wifi_on_pcp_without_ethernet.shtml Use the "# Maintained by user" to create wpa_supplicant.conf of your choice. When you add "# Maintained by user" piCorePlayer's web gui will completely ignore wpa_supplicant.conf Usually piCorePlayer massages a user attempted wpa_supplicant.conf into a valid wpa_supplicant.conf. This works fine in most cases. When you go through the Web GUI we also convert passwords to passphrases. It is usually considered bad practice to use plain text passwords. Here are the instructions for setting up a wpa_supplicant.conf http://w1.fi/cgit/hostap/plain/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf regards Greg Greg Erskine's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7403 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109404 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

huxmut wrote: > I've said it before, you guys should rename the RT Audio version to the > "dont use this" or the "your pi will die" version... :-) The RT Version has been excellent on my RPI3B and RPI3B+, the only issue I have had is with the Wifi (which after installing the normal kernel I relaised I have with that too). But, I think I have solved the issue I was having - even with the normal version. I eventually gave-up using the Web GIU and tried the "setup" via SSH. I got a sign-of-life (i.e. an IP address) and visibility of the RPI3 on my wifi network but could not connect to the Web GUI. I then edited the wpa_supplicant.conf (based on the sample) file on the SDcard adding my SSID, password and country code (GB). I rebooted and voila, I had an IP address, I could connect to it with or without the LAN cable attached and, most importantly of all, my LMS can see it and I can play music. Perhaps the issue is related to the passphrase/password. I use a series of hex characters for my password but the PCP GUI treats this as a passphrase and generates a long hex number based from the passphrase and SSID, which my network does not recognise so I cannot connect. If this is really the problem, an option to bypass the passphrase generation would be good. fsger's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15977 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109404 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Depends on how sophisticated it is. Products from Allo that have detailed mixer controls for the cards, they send us product that we use to properly support their cards. If there is no detailed mixer setup, then its pretty trivial to add a configuration file for the card. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Massive thanks for the nudge :) The patch worked, but then had a go at compiling the module for piCorePlayer anyway, and we're all good so far (well, doing my tests in silence, as everyone is asleep - just looking at logs at the moment). I gave up a few days ago when git failed to install, so just download the kernel source directly instead. ;) lordvader's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68712 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109944 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
