How is the sound? I installed Volumio and the necessary stuff to enable the DAC, however Volumio is just not up to LMS standards. I didn't really use it long enough to assess the DAC. I installed piCorePlayer, but never got the DAC to work with it. I'm not Linux literate, and wasn't really up to asking for help at the time. Since then it acts as my LMS server only, it's not used as a player (everything in my signature). Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Getting Streamer for Audio Input to work with HiFiBerry DAC+ADC
Connection: Close is just an http header, that is correct for this application. The issue is definitely the asound.conf. Has this device been insitu_updated alot. What version was the last image you burned? This is the default /etc/asound.conf that pCP uses Code: # default - Generated by piCorePlayer pcm.!default { type plug slave.pcm "hw:0,0" } pcm.pcpinput { type hw card Headphones device 0 } #---ALSA EQ Below pcm.sound_device { type plug slave.pcm { type hw card Headphones device 0 } } ctl.equal { type equal; controls "/home/tc/.alsaequal.bin" library "/usr/local/lib/ladspa/caps.so" } pcm.plugequal { type equal; slave.pcm "sound_device"; controls "/home/tc/.alsaequal.bin" library "/usr/local/lib/ladspa/caps.so" } pcm.equal { type plug; slave.pcm plugequal; } Once you update your asound.conf, then go to the tweaks page and scroll down to the streamer section, and reset the audio device for input using the box. Expand the more option and then click on the correct input. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Thanks for the tip on the log. My asound.conf is: Code: pcm.!default { # default type plug; slave.pcm "hw:0,0"; } ctl.!default { type hw card 0 } Could my problem be that I am missing the following lines from the older asound.conf? I don't want to mess with asound.conf manually, as it is generated by PCP. Is it intentional that asound.conf has changed from PCP 7.0 to 8.0, or has my asound.conf got screwed up somehow? Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Getting Streamer for Audio Input to work with HiFiBerry DAC+ADC
You can do both input and output at the same time, as long as they are at the same bit depth. You might check the alsamixer to make sure that the input channel volume is not turned down. When you tell the player to play the streamer url, if the player is showing the time elapsing (For longer than a minute), then the streaming system is sending data to LMS..its just that its blank data. Can look at logs, there should be a pcp_streamer.log piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Material Skin on Picoreplayer
whilst i don't disagree, i think PcP is so lightweight that it should cope happily. My current solution is 2 separate Pis, one for playback and one for running material. Thanks, yes I ran the command while I was streaming. I first tried the 16-bit stream, then the 32-bit stream. While they were streaming, I ran the command and got the output above, suggesting the card was not in use. I don't know if there is something specific about the PCP build that means this is an incorrect way of determining whether the card is in use? beneix's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59783 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115692 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
