Hello,

I'm back with OpenMeetings, I've just installed the latest version and I see 
that many things have changed.
Thanks Maxim for all the work.

I've one question : is it normal (and if 'yes' then why?) that the video window 
cannot be placed on the far left side of the screen (where there is nothing) 
like in previous versions.
I can't put it anywhere else than on the whiteboard and it is disturbing 
because in the case of a Powerpoint presentation, it takes an unnecessary space.

Everything seems to work, with one exception: In a room all users can only see 
there own video, but they
cannot get a video connection to the other users (audio works). I've disabled 
the firewall, but with no effect.

Any ideas ?

I installed OM 2.1 on ubuntu 13.04.

I am trying display PPT presentation on white board with video.
Upto 35 logins iam getting presentation and video as well. after that not
getting video.
Joining into "Restricted room with micro option set" which is capable of
100.
Is there any restriction??

Video import

I import a mpeg video 16:9 for a webinar. After import the video is in 
format 4:3 and is unusable. Most videoplayer can enforce the right 
format. Does someone know a work around for openmeetings?

Participants video

Hi there,

I suppose this is a total newbie question but I wasn't able to find anything when using a search 
engine or checking the sparse documentation of the project.


Whenever I join a public conference room, I can only see myself in the little video windows, the 
other participant's windows just show a silhouette with a question mark although video and audio 
for these other participants is enabled. The same goes for the other participants - they cannot 
see me. The same goes for the audio - I can see the local green bar but cannot hear other 
participants.


OM version is 5.1.0 (I also tried 6.0.0) with a H2 DB as a default. The localhost_access and 
openmeetings log do not contain any hints as to what went wrong here.


Happy to provide more information - just let me know.

I don't support this war
(in Russia we can get up to 15 years in prison for using the word "war" now
:( )

IMO no one can can do anything food by starting the war

Hopefully it will stop soon
But the life of both Ukrainians and Russians will never be the same :((

Yes, in 3.2.x.

Video and whiteboard use Flash technology.  Rest is HTML5.  Perhaps there is
a way to extend the canvas of one beyond its frame to the other.  Perhaps
this could be accomplished by superimposing layers, one layer used for each
frame.

No audio/video

Hello Guys,

    Maybe you can help me, i've downloaded the last version 0.4 on the 
web site. And i didn't manage to get in the popup window the video 
appearing. I'm using linux and i've tested on Windows same issue, i'm 
using ubuntu 16.04 LTS.


It's look like, the setup window is working  as i'm able to see me and 
the i'm able to do the test. But i cannot see or hear the other person, 
and my camera doens't appear on the popup window as previous version.

Our Server has an official ip adress (no NAT), I've read something about the 
turn server in this forum,
but it isn't really understandable to me. That means the installation manual 
for Ubuntu 18.04 in

isn't really complete ?

Take a look at the kern.log, if your firewall drops sth.
I guess sth. like this would help:
iptables -A INPUT -p udp -m udp  --dport 1:65535 -j ACCEPTiptables -A

TURN is required if your users are using restricted networks
Or even not very restricted like wifi router at home

Random video dropouts

Hi,

I have implemented OM5-M3 at our university to carry on with classes, webinars 
and such. So far it is going great, but we have a *minor* issue that we would 
love to solve to give our users a better experience.

Video dropouts occur during presentations. These are mostly random and happen, 
most of the time, to users with poorer connections. We have alteady tried 
telling the affected to make sure their connection is clean and not saturated 
to no effect... :-(

The only thing in the logs is the following message: WARN - 
o.a.o.c.r.KStream:117 [ntExec-e2-t1324] - Media FlowOut :: NOT_FLOWING

Is there any way to increase the timeout of this error? I do not care if the 
user has to wait for their video to correct itself a bit more. What is most 
annoying is that users have to start camera and audio from scratch.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello guys,

iam new to OM and have a problem with OM5.0.0-M3.
In my internal network the server works korrekt i can see and hear everybody 
but outsite the network there is no audio and video streaming. It is true that 
i only have to foreward port 5443 for https and  for coturn to the server? 
I installed the service with the guide Installation of Apache OpenMeetings 
5.0.0-M3 on Ubuntu 18.04 lts and then Creating Let's Encrypt SSL Certificates 
and Installing Coturn on Ubuntu 18.04 for OpenMeetings 5.0.0-M3. Is anything 
wrong with my installation or STUN?

video window layout

I know that one can press Shift+F8 to rearrange the video windows in a
"Masonry" layout.

1. I would be nice to have a button on the UI for this in addition to
the hot keys as it may be desired to do it multiple times during a
session and people my forget the hot key combination.
2. Would it be possible to have other layouts such as stacking the
windows to the left of the whiteboard so that the whiteboard could be
viewed without obstruction without having to move each video window
separately

FFMEG path is correct. but it would appear that file not uploading. It
shows in the room folder but not in the

After import video aspect ratio is preserved, BUT it is being displayed as
4:3 :(((

It will play on their screen alright but can only be initiated / controlled by 
the moderator. However enabling presenter tool to students will give them 
access to the video controls also. Would love to see a volume slider added as 
video and audio files are much louder and sometimes catch students by surprise 
:)

4. The video plays on the whiteboard of the teacher and student1.

5. Student2, 3, 4... joins the same room, video does not play, only a

My testing:

Server in Lan:  Ubuntu 18.04 - OM 700 #27

Clients (3): FF 91 (Ubuntu 18.04 - FF 91 (Ubuntu 18.04)
   - FF 91 (OSx 11.5.2)

The moderator play a video in whiteboard; the second user
is in the same room and can watch the video; the third
user in room can watch also the video.

If the third user (for example) go in room when the video is
playing, can watch the video also.

As Maxim said is needed the steps to reproduce the issue.

Not in our case, may be because our front end is moodle, but whenever a 
student joins after the video has started (does not mater if he exited 
or not), he will not be able to watch it until the teacher pause/resume.

Hello Ali,
When you were helping me a few weeks ago, you loaded a video onto the
board, and I could see it. I can't remember if it was already loaded or
not, or whether it was because you gave me moderator controls.

The video was loaded after we stared the session, and even if it was 
before, we used to know this issue, so we pause/resume the video so that 
all participant can see it.

What configuration are you using?
Have you set up HTTPS? do you have proxy server?
According to your logs WebSocket connection is failed, and I never saw
errors like yours

Do you have any problems connecting our demo servers?

the issue it's to use http instead of https


I do not have any proxy server, it's working fine previously with old 
openmeeting version.

2. I use letsencrypt to generate keystore.jks and follow the guide from
openmeetings official site to enable ssl. Once I login(https://myserver:5443),
I go to set Tunneling RTMPS.(In Administration->Configuration set flash.secure
= true flash.secure.proxy = none)

3. I didn't see any errors in browser, moreover, in the check device page
the "start recording test" didn't work, when I click the button of   "start

to use snapshot you need to

0) generally perform install/backup/restore

in your case you can just
1) stop OM
2) backup you OM folder
3) unarchive snapshot to clean folder
4) copy: keystore/truststore/jee-config/red5-core/persistense/db-driver
from old version
4.1) any room files/recordings
5) start OM
In case of any difficulties just use backup/restore :)

I try a new install for openmeetings 4.0.1 snapshot , the problem of seeing

today I made a try with 10 peoples.

I make a camera-video with myself and a USB-microphone. The latency 
between this are ~1-2 seconds.

I mean that under Flash there were parameters to correct this.

arrange automatically video-pictures

Hello,

yesterday I had made a conference-room for 4 users.

When they login I want that the camera (all Notebooks, Windows 10) 
switch on and that the pictures automatically arrange.
I know its a problem for the first user (only one video), the 2nd (two 
videos-pcitures) and so on.


Idea:
Is it possible to make a button that can arrange all avaiable 
video-screens on the avaiable place on the monitor?

Or have anybody another idea?
(Similar to the function from Windows to arrange all windows.)

iam new to OM and have a problem with OM5.0.0-M3.
In my internal network the server works korrekt i can see and hear everybody 
but outsite the network there is no audio and video streaming. It is true that 
i only have to foreward port 5443 for https and  for coturn to the server? 
I installed the service with the guide Installation of Apache OpenMeetings 
5.0.0-M3 on Ubuntu 18.04 lts and then Creating Let's Encrypt SSL Certificates 
and Installing Coturn on Ubuntu 18.04 for OpenMeetings 5.0.0-M3. Is anything 
wrong with my installation or STUN?

Unfortunately it didn't work for me to delete the port in 
applicationContext.xml.
So here we are:
Port 5443, , 3478 TCP ans 3478 UDP are forewarded. In my applicationContext 
i have the Server, User and public IP nothing else changed.
In the /etc/turnserver.conf I added die user-auth, User and realm. Realm is set 
to kurento.org. is this right?
Anything else to do?

This is exactly my turnserver.conf file. I recommend that you rename the 
included file and create a new one

No Video in Settings

Hello,

we are using / testing OM since about two weeks.

Currently i have a user in LAN that is not able to see a video setting up the 
devices?

Firewall should not be the problem because i had a conference with another user 
behind the same firewall.

This user ha a "still image" oft he cam. Trying different settings / 
resolutions the image got totally lost.

In Camera App of win 10 there's an image.

Reboot and cache delete did not change anything.

We are using Firefox 75.0/64.

Any idea how to test out for the cause oft he problem?

Further info, file is uploading to upload temp with a random filename. 
If I move to streaming folder and run the command from a terminal as 
administrator it works but does now show up in the folder lists of the room.

  All looks good, but i dont see how to do "auto-layout" dashboard
  when running video conference with several members?
  I mean that all video windows from members should be arranged

  And, it's possible to auto-scale video window of speaking

I enter as an admin, I enter a room (public or private), I see myself, I 
feel myself ... If I invite a person, the person connects from his home 
to the invitation link, he does not see me and does not hear me. .. I

OM audio/video issue 4.0.0

Dear Maxim,

Version 4.0.0.

On demo server the audio/video is not working. Is there any issue or this 
functionality is still need to be implemented. Only one option is showing there 
"Disabled".

Video codec is h263 or h264 based on setting in config.xml file
