More info on the version and management server logs would probably help
you get some response on the list :-)

RE: No outbound traffic with F5 as loadbalancer network offering

Hi Amin,

Have you checked whether the configured egress rules are programmed properly on

I am still stuck with this issue.

Looks like the virtualrouter is not allowing any outbound traffic, but I have
set the egress to allow all TCP ports from 1-64000.
I have restarted my virtualrouter several times and still nothing outbound.
Any hints? Any buttons to push?

Appreciate it in advance

Subject: Can't go out of a vm with F5 as loadbalancer network offering

Hi All,

On CloudStack 4.2.1, I have set up a network that uses an offering with F5 as
loadbalancer. All other features use VirtualRouter.  Everything is working fine
going southbound to the two VM's I am loadbalancing.

But when I am on either one of these VM's, I can't get to anything external.  I
can get to the virtual router/gateway or other internal VM's. I can resolve
www.google.com but I can't telnet to google.com on port 80

I have set egress on my network to ALL protocols from 0.0.0.0/0.  I have also
disabled iptables and still nothing going out.

I can go outside when I use the default network offering.

Any hint on what could be the cause is greatly appreciated. Or any hint on how
to troubleshoot!

Thanks.
Amin

I believe I saw an email saying that realhostip.com has been retired?
Regardless, it's been terribly unreliable anyways and you should move away from
it.

Good luck though, I haven't managed to get the SSL Certificate change to work
due to CS inability to handle certificate chains - despite many attempts with
every trick found on google and this list. It's a very much incomplete part of
CS.

VPN for VPC feature in 4.3

2014-04-01 Thread Praveen Buravilli
Hi,

I have noticed an issue in working with VPN for VPC which is a new feature
introduced in CloudStack 4.3("1.1.6 Remote Access VPN for VPC" section of
CloudStack 4.3 release notes).
Regular remote VPN for guest networks fine without any problem whereas, VPN for
VPN isn't working.

When I checked the VPC router, there is no IP address assigned to its public
Nic.
Has anyone noticed this behaviour? Does this seem like a bug? Any known
workaround available?

When i open vm console, i got this info from management server log ,like "

I think the problem is my computer can't resolve this domain name
"192-168-28-2.*.realhostip.com".
In CS 4.2.1 , that domain name like "192-168-28-2.realhostip.com" , and it
works well.
So, is this a bug for CS 4.3.0 ? How to fix this?

Re: Snapshot exceptions on 4.2.1 with NFS and S3

2014-04-01 Thread Thomas O'Dowd
Thanks for the feedback Andrei,

In my case the problem seems unrelated to S3 as when I configure NFS as
my secondary storage I get the same problem. My problem seems to be that
the system tries to write the snapshot to directory path
like /mnt/e5c41.../snapshots/2/3/ but as for some reason it finds
that /mnt/e5c41.../snapshots/2/3/ doesn't exist as the /mnt/e5c41... is
not actually mounting secondary storage at that time. If I mount it
manually, the path is there but the system is not doing it automatically
for me.

I might be mixing version numbers, but it could be related to the size of the
image. In the past, there was no support for multi-part upload I was not able
to snapshot anything larger than 5gb. Not sure if this is the same problem that
you are experiencing.

I would suggest trying 4.3 and letting us know how it works for you.

I am planning to upgrade to 4.3 and test snapshotting with nfs / s3 / ceph.
Will update on the progress.

No outbound traffic with F5 as loadbalancer network offering

2014-04-01 Thread Amin Pashapour
I am still stuck with this issue.

Looks like the virtualrouter is not allowing any outbound traffic, but I have
set the egress to allow all TCP ports from 1-64000.
I have restarted my virtualrouter several times and still nothing outbound.
Any hints? Any buttons to push?

Appreciate it in advance
Amin

Thanks.
Amin

System VMs not running

2014-04-01 Thread José Egas López
I checked my System VMs, there are two (Console Proxy and Secondary
Storage), both are stopped and both don't start when I try to initialize
them, it just says "Failed to start".

Which may be the problem?*
Thanks

iso template of type 'Other (32 bit)' does not get downloaded

2014-04-01 Thread chris snow
I'm trying to create an instance for on a XEN vm. The ISO details are
as follows

   Name: Ubuntu 12.04 (32 bit)
   Description: Ubuntu 12.04 (32 bit)
   URL: http://releases.ubuntu.com/12.04/ubuntu-12.04.4-server-i386.iso
   Zone: All Zones
   Bootable: Selected

This ISO gets downloaded OK (but results in VM_HVM_REQUIRED error when
creating an instance):

OS Type: Ubuntu 12.04 (32 bit)

So I have tried setting the OS type to 'Other (32 bit)' as described here [1].
However, this ISO doesn't get download:

   OS Type: Other (32 bit)

Question 1: Why does the second ISO not get downloaded?
Question: 2 Why does Cloudstack UI not tell me there is an issue with
the download? Why is it silent about this error?

Many thanks,

Chris

Can I just increase the size of the storage pool by editing the XML file on

Re: packer for building cloudstack templates

2014-04-01 Thread Peter Jönsson
Hi!

I patched my library to support ignoring the certificate chain. If you do a

$ make get-ups
$ make

in the packer-directory you should get the latest version. Then you need to set
the following value in the *.json-file:

insecure_skip_verify = true

Note: I haven’t tested this yet, but it _should_ work.

If you like we can move the discussion off the list as well :)

Can post the exact error tomorrow.

Subject: Re: [EVENTS] CloudStack Hyderabad April meetup -3rd April

Hi Talluri! Thanks for sharing.

Folks can you please plan/share meetup events at least one month in advance, in
future? I've sort of missed two meetups in India in the past due to timing
mismatches which I would have loved to join.

Regards.

I'm not experienced with KVM, and I'm also not sure if the Primary Storage
is under LVM. But if it is, you could resize the primary storage using LVM?
If you resize the Primary storage you should not have anything to do in
CloudStack, it will update is available resources automatically, altough,
you might need to have the hypervisor config updated.

Re: Unable to provision instance

2014-04-01 Thread Fred Newtz
Saksham,

The volume is 100gb. I need the volume to be that size. The local storage
pool is definitely only 50gb. How can I expand or create a second primary
storage pool for this new instance to use?

Pierre-Luc,

I did create a new service offering and that is the one I am using.
Storage Type local is what the Details of the service offering state.

Any suggestions on how to specify the max size of the local Primary Storage
pool? Is there a configuration setting that dictates the size of the pool
on creation? I have dug through all of the Global Settings and do not see
anything and I don't see any non-global settings that are available for the
storage pool itself.

Thanks,

Fred

Hello Fred,

Have you define new service offerings that use local storage. Defaults are
configured to use shared storage.
