Thanks guys, I'll start looking up the deployment docs as soon as I get
some time. PXE seems the way to go.
We have some new Supermicros and it looks like latest Xenserver and
Vmware lack the proper drivers.

Hi Lucian,

Have you consider to install XenServer by PXEboot? This way it make thing
easier when adding third party drivers at the installation process as Tim
explained. Also , you might be able to add your custom driver in the
pxelinux.cfg file, I've never done that, I'm not sure if it would be doable.

Also, the install process is pretty much the same as Redhat, it should be
asking if you have a driver disk at the beginning of the install, can't
recall...

That would be my preferred option.

Tim,

At point 2, what is this answerfile you are talking about, do I have to
open up the ISO? Is it possible to have a "local" driver-source type? I'd
try to avoid going out on the network without network drivers. :)

I don't have any servers which require custom drives, so if this works for
you, I'd love to capture the info and blog it on xenserver.org.

Hello Tim,

Your document says "Drivers are installed after XenServer Base
Installation and cannot be integrated using this method if needed for
the Installation itself!" and that's exactly what I need.

Any other options?

I've not tried this, but it looks like this should work for you with
modifications for a fresh ISO.

Customise XenServer ISO?

2014-03-04 Thread Nux!

Hi,

Anyone knows if it's possible to customise the XenServer ISO installer?
Need to add some newer LSI and Intel NIC drivers and I can't seem to
find any documentation on this.
