docx default change

2016-01-27 Thread Joebrann
This morning I updated to your new version 4.1.2. Apparently that new
version is opening by default all of my .docx files. I do not want to use
OpenOffice to open these type files. Can you please send me the directions to
undo this default.

Also recently I opened a former Lotus 1-2-3 file and saved it in
OpenOffice. Now when I open that file all the words are underlined in red.
The file
has over 1045 lines in it. Is there any expedient way to add all the red
underlined words into the spread sheet dictionary?

thanks

Unsubscribe is easy as well, all you need to remember is the email address you
used while subscribing to the mailing list. But when you unsubscribe with an
other email address you're in trouble.

And how is a macro aware of the original email address used with the
subscription?

You click the link in the bottom of an email from the list: To unsubscribe, e-mail:
users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org

Send the email.
Reply to the confirmation notice you receive.

You need a class to do that???

It is the same process you followed to subscribe to the mailing list.

Oh, and after confirming your subscription to the mailing list you receive an email telling how
to unsubscribe as well as other information about the list.

It ain't rocket science. No class required unless one is a complete idiot, in which case a
class would not likely be useful.

Not when the link you click to unsubscribe, transfers the TO address in

You should download and install OpenOffice on the new computer.
The only site from which OpenOffice should be downloaded is
http://www.openoffice.org/download

This site will redirect you to a SourceForge site and your download will start
in about five seconds with no need to click on anything else (Do NOT click on
anything else).

One can verify (and should verify) that the downloaded file is as it left the
code factory by the methods described in
Apache OpenOffice - How to verify the integrity of the downloaded file?

As OO is opensource, many sites manipulate search engines so that they come
high on the hit list, and compile OO with unwanted add-ons or charge for it
with spurious offers of support.

We recommend downloading only from the above site and carrying out the
integrity check before installing.

If installing a download from the above site Windows prompts for allowing
changes, you should answer "yes".

OpemOffice is a volunteer driven project where we give of our time on a pro
bono basis; there are no provisions for remote intervention from this project
on your computer whether for downloading or installation.

If you are in doubt about any of the download/installation steps, you should
seek local informed help - often a computer informed student will be pleased to
assist.

The math was way off, the point wasn't. Most mail lists have unsubscribe
links that aren't so problem prone.
What would be much better is a blog, with mail notification of responses
to one's post. That way people would
get answers to their question, with out all the NOISE, and it would be
easier to form a data base of queries.

Support is the most important part of any software project, be it open
source or not. If volunteers of this project

want it to be successful, they must get their act together.

Tax credits for contributions to open source software is the answer.

What is exactly, "the problem" and what do you propose to fix it?
I dont see anything different in the way this mailing list works
compared with others.

No one can help users who cannot READ the automatic notification they
get after requesting to unsubscribe. Without this
verification/clicking step, anybody could unsubscribe anybody else
from the list. That's the way mailing lists work.

To me the problem seems to be people who join a mailing list without
knowing what a mailing list is or how it works. Tha's why I suggested
we make it clear on the subcription page that a mailing list involves,
gee, receiving questions and answers from lots of stranges, to your
email inbox. I even proposed changing the wording from "mailing list"
to "discussion list"

I (and others) have yelled for years about this. The "unsubscribe" things

The Community Forum, although a bit more organized and curated, might be along
the lines you are thinking of:

There is also a Wiki, although it is not so crowd-sourced as the original wiki

It turns out that wikis do have to be curated by someone in order to be

Funktioniert nicht mit Windows 10.
- Registry sichern und dann nach openoffice-Einträgen durchsuchen und
diese löschen, dann OO 4.1.2 installieren oder
- letzte Version nochmals installieren, dann neue installieren. Diese
