Re: Problem with Open Office
Hi, I answer this question in German. Best regards, Volker. Viel Erfolg! Beste Grüße, Volker. Am 07.02.2013 um 19:38 schrieb Anja Schulte : > Dear OpenOffice-Team, > is somebody in your team speaking German? Roy, It sounds like you have inadvertently changed your document's zoom setting. Open your document, look in the bottom right hand corner of the document window and you will see an area with a percentage (maybe 20%) value. Right click in that area and from the context (pop-up) menu that appears select a different (maybe 100% or Page Width) option. Now save your document and when you open it again it should have the same zoom setting. Hope this helps. Dave Thank you for your very quick response, I have been toying with the problem over the last few hours, I noted that one document had locked after the title which I changed, shortly after I had to restart the computer as it would not open any files, low and behold the documents are now O.K. even a problem I had with the time it was taking to go into Open Office seems to have resolved itself. The problem I had was with all my documents but this has also resolved itself and they are all behaving. Many thanks for your suggestion I will log this in case I get a similar situation Kind regards Roy On 25 Mar 2014, at 12:01, Dave Barton wrote: > Original Message > From: Roy Grainger > To: users@openoffice.apache.org > Date: Tue, 25 Mar 2014 10:39:57 + > >> Using Apple Mac - Open Office- I can produce and save a document, when I go >> back into it I only get a snapshot and am unable to access/enlarge and work >> on it. To cause it to change you need to alter the defining criteria (usually the Heading styles in the document itself) or the Contents styles defined on the Styles tab of the Insert window. To access these once the Table of Contents is generated, right click on the ToC and choose Edit from the popup. If you wish to manually change lines of the ToC without using the automatic generation feature, use the Edit function I mentioned above and uncheck "Protected against manual changes" on the Index/Table tab of the creation dialog. Re: Problem with Open Office: printed page not like onscreen page
I would really love if someone could help with this: I drafted a 6 page document and when I printed it, the print on each page actually ran off the page, by about 1/4. I ended up re-formatting the pages so that the page was only filled down 2/3 of the page, but it’s a imprecise and a pain. Does anyone know how to fix this problem so it prints like it looks on the original pages? Thanks! Robyn Robyn Jamison, m.f.a. artist 512.443.5522 http://www.RobynJamison.com Bring art to life!
Re: Problem with Open Office: printed page not like onscreen page
There is not a lot of information you supply, so all we could do is give some guidelines. First thing you could do is to check if you have the following settings applied: Go to: Tools --> Options --> OpenOffice.org --> Print and activate all check boxes in the Warning section. Second you should compare Printer settings and Page size. Go to: Format --> Page and check your page size and Margins etc. Also the Header and footer settings could have an impact. Re: Problem with Open Office before and after installing new update
I myself have had the spell check problem under OSX and the solution given by the users group resolved it. That is the only problem I have had with AOO other than a few odd quirks that, to no surprise, others also experienced. In my past I have worked with at least 5 different pieces of writing and publishing software and found that they are all similar and each has it's own set of quirks. As stated, there is no perfect software. *"I would rather be lost in the woods, than found in the city. Hugo Costa wrote: I begin the campaign : DO NOT UPGRADE the OPEN OFFICE UNLESS the SPELL CHECK IS GOING TO WORKand I mean DO NOT TOUCH IT UNLESS . If you simply answer "no" to the option of keeping your profile when you upgrade from 3.x to 4.x, you get a new and working profile without the need to look for workarounds later. So this can be "solved" by simply not upgrading 3.x profiles any longer by default, starting with OpenOffice 4.2.0. I have the following configuration and problem: Configuration: Apple MacBook Pro, OS X 10.7.5. Apache Open Office 3. (as I cannot open the program I can't´see the exact version) The problem I have: I downloaded from my video camera a video on the laptop and during this download the laptop "crashed". Afterwards a window in OpenOffice appeared saying "restore window". This window has to options to click on: "Restore window" and "do not restore window". I can click on both but nothing happens afterwards. The window is always there. therefore, it is not possible to close OpenOffice on "the normal way". I have to click on "terminate immediately" the complete program. now it is not possible to open files in OpenOffice by the finder. It is only possible to open files by always follow the step above for every single file. also, it is not possible to print or safe a new document in Open Office. In the forum I found the advice to rename the "user library" and start the program again. I did that, but the window was still there afterwards with the same problems as above listed.
